It could/should have been in the main game, its overpriced, PS3 is getting it for free.

Why do people keep saying this?  If they charge $60 for the PS3 version when the 360/PC version will be down to $25-30, then they most certainly are NOT getting it for free.

Even then they are getting more Mass Effect for their money ... not to mention most of us kind of already have the game and many of us paid more than 25-30..

This. I paid 70 dollares por my ME2.
So, the argument of "They will charge $60 for the PS3 version so it's not free" is quite dumb actually. It will be an old game for us, not for them. For the PS3 it will be brand new.

Those buying ME2 on PC or Xbox for the first time at the same time ME2 for PS3 is released will be getting it either a lot cheaper without DLC or the same cost with DLC if a new version is released for PC and Xbox that includes the DLC. Add then the cost of the DLC if required and they'd probably be about the same price.

While this is great news, I do hope that a similar DLC will be released for us who didn't romance that squid-head.

You are a Xenophobic biatch!

I honestly am. The only reason I can't honestly romance her is because if Shepard were to have a child, I'd want the child to have all the badass genes in them. With Liara, we'd get a clone.

They told us we could continue the romance in ME2, which cleary we could not <_<

You raise a good point. Agreed.

Quote from an IGN interview with Casey Hudson:
"Because we wanted to make sure the love interest can remain an important and integral part of the story, we want that to continue into the third game. We have some really important things we want to resolve there. That means we can't have these characters that were your love interests in this suicide mission potentially getting killed and then blocking off that opportunity. They're part of the story. They're part of the ongoing love story but they're not your squad members so that we can be sure that we can bring that love story to its conclusion." (http://uk.xbox360.ig.../1055366p2.html)
After this i did not assume that the ME 1 LIs would have big roles. The way they integrated them was deliberatly unsatisfing, but not for marketing reasons but for the storytelling. And to trick you into a new LI.

I hope BW also knows that they are playin with our hearts (people who play RPG games for the Story line)

They cannot play with my heart. It's a game after all. I will never trust them again though. One such lie is enough.

it's bad that happened to you and your not alone but still have faith that BW will still hold to there word when they said at the start of ME game that they were going to make a good game and not just for the money

all I say is keep trusting them "UNTILL" they either make this Liara DLC or ME3

and if they f*ck this up then you won't see me on here anymore

Allow me to reiterate my sentiments from another thread. But first, thank you so much Chris! I have been living in the dark for a month, but this proves everything was worth it!

Now:

And now forgive me, but OH YES! DEAR LORD YES! This is, without a doubt, the GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT IN MASS EFFECT EVER! I'm not once to 'squee,' so I'll just say DEAR GODDESS YES!

There... that's out of my (OH YES!) system now. Now for a rational examination of my unbridled joy:

1) 800 points. This hints that this package is going to be HUGE. If you thought Overlord was big, you must've seen nothing yet.

2) They only hint at two locations, but that can only mean a lot of activity and action/dialogue at these places. Awesome! No more quick little looking-around at five different sites.

3) Romance continuable! Oh, all my prayers have come true! That means, without a doubt:

4) Lots of great dialogue to come!

5) A chance to unlock "Paramour" perhaps, for those of us who never sacrificed their undying love for an achievement. Not even by cheating/reloading.

6) Did I mention the romance is continuable?

7) FIVE achievements? We were astonished with 2 in Overlord! But 5? (Believe me, if I could capslock a number right now, I would) This is going to be great.

8) ROMANCE CONTINUABLE!

9) Screenshots indicate that Liara is actually a following squadmate for at least part of the missions. Other parts, I take it, like the part with four people, are examples of a typical squad, with Liara performing cinematic/side combat.

10) ROMANCE BLOODY CONTINUABLE!

This... this is history. (Obscure Indiana Jones quote) At long last, Mass Effect 2 can finally eclipse Mass Effect 1 for me as the greatest game of all time. Just with the information BioWare has graciously granted us, I am more than satisfied, and they've said they're not going to announce one of the best parts!

BioWare, you have and always will be the only game studio!

Liara is probably only a temp character. She isn't going to join the Normandy after the suicide mission.

Boss.  Really looking forward to this one.

On a side note, anybody else think it looks a lot like Liara is a squadmate in this pic?  I mention it for two reasons...

A:  The obvious fact that it looks like a shot of a 3 person squad and...
B:  More intriguingly, she has an M-5 Phalanx pistol on her hip. Which is very owierd if she's not a squadmate since only squadmates are ever seen wielding more than one weapon and even wierder since she's wielding a weapon which is added through the Firepower pack DLC and presumably wouldn't be a weapon the Bioware team would have her equipped with by default since the player wouldn't necessarily have the file for it downloaded.

I don't think that she'll be a member of the squad. There is no more room on the Normandy for here, unless they put her in the captains cabin =D

lol. i agree, bioware is the only game studio worth paying real attention to

also i haven't seen anything about her being a permanent squad member or, more importantly, if this takes place after the suicide mission.. but if she is, and if it doesn't.... that would be really cool

Hey don't throw us all in the same pot.   I got a date, that's all I needed and I'm cool with this now.

What really caught my attention was that this DLC will add the Shadow Broker Intel Center.  I assume this will be an expanded location on board the Normandy.    THAT is all the proof any of us need for knowing if Liara will be a keeper on the squad  Who ELSE would run that station but Liara?

So I'm pretty satisfied and have no further concerns about this content.

Since nobody asked yet. I would like to know how it will be with localizations for mentioned countries - Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Poland.

I mean for 800MS it could be localized. Dont get me wrong the price is fine with me, but I would like to see it (as all the others DLCs) localized. Come on Bioware, you created whole game, dont tell us, you suddenly have "technical issues". Hopefully it will be localized for us, because I know it will be super-great DLC and I really dont want to miss it...

The center is probably the Broker's base, and Liara will probably stay there and become the "new Broker".

The part about her the Phalanx pistol doesn't hold much water because there were geth using the plasma shotgun in Overlord, which came out long before the Firepower pack.

I am sorry. I really don't know what you are saying. How many chances are they entitled too? The lie of proper patches? The lie of the decisions having real impact to the story line? The lie of the continueing LIs? BW has reached the point that anything they say sounds like the next lie.

Great news, really looking forward to this.

I also don't understand those who think 800 points is too much money. Do you pay $7.50 or more to see a 2 hour movie?? Chances are, this will take a lot longer than 2 hours to play, and IMHO, it's much better entertainment than seeing a movie at the theater. As for whether it should have been included in the original game, I feel like I more than got my money's worth out of the original. It's got, what, 40 hours (or more) of gameplay? Granted, I bought the PC version, after it was out for awhile, and IIRC, I got it used for around $20, so I'm looking at less than $1 per hour. Seems like a good value to me. Not sure if I would've paid $60 for it on the PS3, but after playing ME 1, I probably would have.

Not proof enough for me. It's based on an assumption for a start. Even if it's an educated guess based on the wording in the announcement, all it says is the Intel centre is added. This could mean to the game or the Normandy. If it is a station on the Normandy then I'd make an assumtion that Liara will be transmitting data to it rather than using it. This could be the source of the new research available. But that's just another guess based on another assumption.

Then there would be no reason to call it an "addition"  then.   A location away from the Normandy isn't an addition, it's just a location.

So have we any info if this is pre or post Suicide Mission?
