Boss.  Really looking forward to this one.

On a side note, anybody else think it looks a lot like Liara is a squadmate in this pic?  I mention it for two reasons...

A:  The obvious fact that it looks like a shot of a 3 person squad and...
B:  More intriguingly, she has an M-5 Phalanx pistol on her hip. Which is very owierd if she's not a squadmate since only squadmates are ever seen wielding more than one weapon and even wierder since she's wielding a weapon which is added through the Firepower pack DLC and presumably wouldn't be a weapon the Bioware team would have her equipped with by default since the player wouldn't necessarily have the file for it downloaded.

Image IPB

The part about her the Phalanx pistol doesn't hold much water because there were geth using the plasma shotgun in Overlord, which came out long before the Firepower pack.

There was that wallpaper image of a Geth wielding the Plasma Shotgun before Overlord came out; but I don't recall any of the Geth in the actual mission shooting at me with a Plasma Shotgun.   The fire from a Plasma Shotgun is really easy to recognize too and I think I would have noticed 3 glowing orbs of plasma flying at my head.

The Firepower pack downloads new files which aren't on the disk, so unless you have the DLC I don't think there any way for the game to render the guns.

Aside from that, you didn't address the fact that she's got two weapons at her disposal which as I said is a behavior that has only been observed on squad members.  She may not become a permanent squad member; but at the very least it would seem she has a decent chance of becoming a temporary one like Wilson on the Lazarus Station.

If they were going to put Liara anywhere on the Normandy, I'd assume it would be the medical bay with Chakwas. It's a big room, and I don't remember there being a rule that every room can only contain one NPC. (and that's what I reckon Liara will be outside of the mission itself where she may participate in combt)

That's great! Can't wait to play it, allready bought extra Bioware points :)

And since there's no mentioning in the announcement about the "technical issues" for Central European versions, crossed fingers that we, who're live here in the heart of EU will be able to play it :) (some information about that would be most welcome :))

What really caught my attention was that this DLC will add the Shadow Broker Intel Center.  I assume this will be an expanded location on board the Normandy.    THAT is all the proof any of us need for knowing if Liara will be a keeper on the squad  Who ELSE would run that station but Liara?

Not proof enough for me. It's based on an assumption for a start. Even if it's an educated guess based on the wording in the announcement, all it says is the Intel centre is added. This could mean to the game or the Normandy. If it is a station on the Normandy then I'd make an assumtion that Liara will be transmitting data to it rather than using it. This could be the source of the new research available. But that's just another guess based on another assumption.

Well think about it, the Shadow Broker would need to keep her interests constantly moving, being on board the Normandy would certainly make that possible.

My only problem is that Liara has only been looking for the SB for two years, what exactly qualifies her to head up that organization?

Unless it's a "You Keep What You Kill" scenario.    Whoever is clever enough to deduct the SB's identity and take him/her down is crowned the new Broker.   If that's the case, that would have alot people gunning for Liara's head.

IIRC Wilson has a Phalanx if you have Firepower, and the standard cannon if you don't. So not conclusive.

Yeah; but Wilson is also a temporary squadmate.  Not just an NPC.

No, seriously, why wasn't this kind of thing in the main game? We know this DLC has been "in the works" for a long time because the files for this Liara DLC were in the game.

Yet what we get from Liara in the game is absolute crap; she doesn't the even mention the romance at all. Yet now we can? And the fact that this has been in development for so long tells me that you aren't "adding" the romantic content in after seeing that the fans didn't like your ME2 crap.

This just screams bad, manipulative business.

Agreed man, and to makes things worst PS3 is most likely getting this for free.

Sadly, most people out there would buy whatever the hell bioware thow at them, no matter how overpriced it is.

Personally i'm not purchasing this for a whole lot of reasons.

1. Because you're poor.
2. Wait...There isn't any more reasons!

I don't think that she'll be a member of the squad. There is no more room on the Normandy for here, unless they put her in the captains cabin =D

What about the cargo bay?

Well, for all the people moaning about the price, the colour of Liara's lips and other miscellany, I'd just to like to say I thoroughly enjoyed The Firewalker Pack, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and Overlord, and I can't wait for this. It looks like it will probably be the best (most epic) DLC so far.

It fits into the REVENGE!!! theme that so many other ME2 characters had.

I hope that we can have a DA:O-like four person squad of Garrus, Tali, Shep and Liara like in one of the earlier screenshots.

I don't care if Liara is controllable (like Samara/Jack in the Bubble in the Suicide Mission)

That would be epic.

I remember them saying that after the date was announced we wouldn't have to wait long. 2 weeks is almost forever.....

I remember this too. It seems they lied to us. They said very quickly, or something like that.

Someone at BW made the decision to remove the LIs from the game. In the case of Liara the cutting resulted in a very awkward encounter. I am not sure that I agree with Mystranna Kelteel that BW did this on purpose, but I really have a bad taste in my mouth that the solution to that booboo is the most expensive ME2 DLC to date.

I'll wait with buying the DLC until after its release and after reading the boards and the reviews. Only if they turn out OK I'll buy it.

I have another definition of a continuing romance. Like most people it involves personal contact. A single talk or an e-mail does not cut it.

Your opinion. As far as we know LI's will continue on to ME3 if you don't do anything to jeapardise them or outright abandon them. Continuing does not mean further exploration of it.

It wasn't mentioned in the description Chris gave but I do wonder if Liara's armor style will be available for femsheps as well. There's have to be an equivalent for malesheps as well.....

If a mere 2 weeks is too long to wait, I think we might have a bigger problem than Bioware "lying."

The CIC is very large and there's room for more than just Kelly and random NPCs manning consoles in that area.

Liara and Kelly in the same room for extended periods of time would spell possible trouble for my Shepard.

Darn it! Why did I have to play ME1 on PC and ME2 on xbox?! I want to give Liara some more lovin! :crying:
Will the expansion of Liara's romance be possible for those that DON'T have a port from ME1? It would be nice if we had the option to choose wether we romanced Liara or not at the start of the DLC. In the form of a cutscene or something. There good be the options "Hello again Liara"(Which wouldn't activate the romance) and "Great to see you again [Kiss]".
Selecting the second option would make the game recognise Liara as a formal romance. Just as if we had a port. Couldn't be too hard to implement could it? :)

My guess is:  Unlike you and most of the sheeps in this thread, he’s not stupid enough to pay 10 bucks for something that’s probably going to be free in a couple of month.

The way they said it made it seem like a much shorter amount of time.
