Great news :) A question: story-wise, does the DLC take place during the suicide mission or is this the first "bridging" DLC?

Highly likely after suicide mission, possibly it takes quite some time for Liara able to track down shadow broker.;)

I wonder if it will require completing the two hacking mini quests to unlock.

My only problem with this DLC is that Liara romancers will be getting a lot more loving than anybody who had romanced Ashley or Kaidan, while we don't know what will happen with her she'll obviously have much more importance in the game again. I'm also hoping that Liara has a chance to die in this DLC because out of all the other 8 romances she's the only one who can't die due to plot armor.

I might just be bitter due to how Ashley / Kaidan played out though.

Bioware has already confirmed at least one more story-based DLC for ME2; the Virmire survivor may get some attention in the next addon or so.

And this debate on Liara's new lip color - I think she looks better with blue (it makes her look more mature imo). In ME and her brief appearance in ME2 Liara looked too childish. I, for one, support her new look completely.

Hope so, would hate going into Mass Effect 3 without resolving the "I-HATE-YOU" fight and the "I wub u :3" letter.

Another dead asari in the background. My guess it starts on Illium. Then you go to another planet.

Your guess is right , this picture background is on Illium. (where you hack the computer for Liara);)

... and since I love starting random discussions, I remember a while back somebody on the /v/ boards on 4chan (extremely unreliable, I know.) claimed that in the DLC people would be able to start a romance with Liara (if not started in ME1). While I'm not trusting this source, what would you guys think of it if true?

Complete indifference to that aspect.  All my Sheps see Liara as nothing more than a friend. ;)

That's pretty selfish, ain't it? That would be like demanding all of the ME2 squadmates to be left out of ME3 unless your ONE favourite squadmate was included.

IMO Liara (being one of the most important characters in ME1) has a very integral role in the Mass Effect trilogy, and her prominence in the games shouldn't be downplayed just because she happens to be a love interest.

I'm sure the Kaisley-fans will eventually get some love too, most likely with the fabled plot-bridging DLC that will somehow lead into Mass 3.

Character Evolution:

Posted Image

I personally liked ME1 Liara best... but its probably because I liked her nature and personality better in that one. The textures have improved but I don't like all of her recoloring... I find it hard to believe she's changed so much in 2 yrs when others really haven't... I'm not sure I like her LOTSB look that I've seen in the shots.  It seems like her features have darkened... I guess that may match her new personality.

I'm looking forward to the DLC though.  I was REALLY dissappointed with the lack of content with Liara in ME2.  When I got to Illium and learned that Liara was there I was stoked!  Then, I spoke with her and was completely deflated... it was like talking to a completely new character.  I'm hoping this DLC can bring some of the old Liara back through paragon actions and conversation (much like talking with Garrus during his mission and at the end...  by the end of that conversation, I felt he had relearned the lessons paragon Shep taught him in ME1).

Does it matter? The more important question, does it require Horizon to be completed?

Excited about this, hoping they do the Shadow Broker stuff the justice it deserves after all the build up though! 800 points as well, I'm sure it warrants the price up but I think my wallet is beginning to hate how Bioware keep releasing worthwhile ME paid-DLC.

this new DLC will add the Shadow Broker intel center, new research, and five new achievements – and give fans from Mass Effect 1the chance to continue a relationship with Liara.

[/quote]

Is anyone else intrigued by the shadow broker intel center? because I like the sound of it. It seems like they have packed enough in here to make it worth the ten dollar price tag. plus continuing a relationship with Liara sounds like alot of fans will like that. The 2 things I am woried about is that so far the dlc has been good but didnt have a large effect on the game and if they just add a few extra lines of dialogue depending on your relationship status Liara fans will be angry. The second worry is new research, I dont want to go back and have to get more elements I researched all of the upgrades and finished all of that, I honestly dont want anymore. Otherwise this will be a great dlc!Posted Image

Well, I could also mention that out of both games that Liara is the only companion that has never had a chance to die.

Tali, Garrus, Miranda, Jacob, Thane, Samara, Legion, Zaeed, Kasumi, Morinth, Jack, Mordin - ME2, Collector Base (and a few other areas for a few other characters)
Wrex - ME1, Virmire.
Ashley & Kaidan - ME1, Virmire.

Yeah... i will be waiting for the review on this one to see if the price is justified.  Although I'm really looking forward to the DLC, I'll force myself to wait.

Bioware said she was not part of the squad in ME2 was because she was important in ME3. Killing her in DLC would ****** alot of people off.

But the only way to balance it out would be that Liara can die in ME3 and everybody else can live. :P

Edit: Although I suspect plot armor will protect her again.

Make it poseable for her to die in ME3. Everybody wins.

I'd expect that Horizon would be a bare minimum, given that the content takes place on Illium.

I'd like to see Liara as a full squadmate but I can't see it happening, if for no other reason there isn't any room in the squad selection line-up! I'd settle for a Chakwas type role even, but I think her death will supply the DLC with a big climax - It's what I'd do.

PS3 it's getting it for free anyway, so i don't see why should buy this, i rather wait and rent the PS3 version.

The only confirmed PS3 content is a Mass Effect 1 introduction. My guess is they'll have to pay just like everyone else.

It's possible the free Ceberus DLCs are the only ones free on the PS3. As long Bioware includes the same free X360 DLCs on the PS3 version, they can market it as extra contents on the PS3 version and let PS3 fans believe the PS3 version has all the free DLCs.

PS3 and X360 owner.

Yes that would be great! I chose to save Kaiden. I didnt have a love interest in the first one (since I was male) but I still like Kaiden as a characterPosted Image

Well not to be a smartass but Every other character other then Ashley (Kaiden), and Wrex (Nobody was in uproar over Wrex though Posted Image) have had a some part in ME2, Its not being selfish Its just wanting a little fairness :P.....And I agree with  the Everybody else can Die Except Liara thing  Posted Image
