Wait a minute.Bioware said that this DLC marks the real beginning where they expand the ME2 story in preparation for ME3.Could this mean that we'll need to use Shadow Broker's intel to get more allies in final confrontation with Reapers?

That is one possibility, yes.

anybody know what planet this is

If I remember correctly in the end of the SB comic, his base was *spoilers* at a planet with clouds like this that made it impossible for anything on surface to be detected.

damn i was hopeing it whould be a planet that we ben on lol

I was thinking the same thing. And btw the planet is already in the game. It called Alingon. masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Alingon

I put my 2 cents on that Liara becomes the new Shadow Broker after she killed the original Shadow Broker (who's an AI by the way). Just my 2 cents of speculation.

Let's see. These are the possibilities we have, regardless of how likely they are:

1. Liara's dad
2. The Illusive Man
3. Armistan Banes
4. Admiral Hackett
5. Miranda's dad
6. Conrad Verner
7. The Consort

Anything else I'm forgetting? I think that's everything that's been suggested for the past seven or so months. Also, #1, #3 and #4 are underlined for a reason.

For what reason?

1. is possible but, frankly, stupid.  It is also not particularly likely.  Liara is young -- barely over 100 -- and the SB has existed for much longer than that.  That would mean that the Shadow Broker "fathered" Liara while acting as the Shadow Broker.  Someone who needs to be as secretive, paranoid, and cautious as the SB, and who has so many enemies, would simply never have time nor ability to be in public long enough to become romantically involved with someone, much less even consider fathering a child.  Additionally, someone with the capacity for doing what the Shadow Broker does is probably far too obsessed with their work to even consider the idea.  It just doesn't strike me as being a psychologically reasonable or realistic thing for someone who is the SB to do.

2-6 are simply not possible because humans have only been on the intergalactic scene for a very short time, and the Shadow Broker has been an influential figure in the galaxy for much longer than humans have been around.

Of all those humans, TIM makes the LEAST amount of sense.  The SB always gives info to the highest bidder, and it would be completely out of character for TIM to give information to aliens that could give them any advantage against humans, not to mention that he worked directly against the SB to obtain Shepard's body.

7. also doesn't make much sense.  The Consort is far too public and accessible to be able to conduct the sort of business that the SB does.  Everyone always remarks about what an impossible amount of work it seems that the Shadow Broker does, and yet Sha'ira still has time to meet with her endless supply of paying customers?  Not to mention the fact that she is not at all well-protected at her workplace.  It just isn't plausible.

You also forgot to mention the Geth, which someone mentioned before.  This is also silly because
1) They simply wouldn't have the motive to manipulate organic politics
2) It implies a very high degree of understanding of organic thinking, something that Legion states flatly that the Geth to not have.

I just don't think it is going to be anyone we've actually met, and it certainly will not be a human.

One of the MANY "pings" on the galaxy map that don't actually have a planet or satellite over them.

It was disappointing when I scanned an entire "ping" and found nothing, it's like opening christmas gifts and finding out there was nothing in the box. :(

Rofl. But seriously, there's tons of those pings with nothing on them. Then there's pings ON satellites, but we still can't interact with them.

We'll have to assume those are for DLCs.

Wow! I almost forgot about that post of mine, lol! :D

Yeah, well, I'm really not sure myself. I was presenting people's ideas. My own personal idea is that it's either Armistan Banes or someone we've never met before.

For those who don't know what we mean by "pings", check out the Krogan DMZ.

There's a planet with 5 or so satellites surrounding it. All five make a "ping" sound when you hover over them, but you can't land or interact with any of them.

Those are what we mean.

The Shadow Broker is Ellen Tigh.

Captain Bailey will discover this while wading through the Presidium ponds looking for fish.

It's very possible, but quite frankly, it would be a bit of a downer -- since everyone is "assuming" it is in fact someone we know of.

I wonder if downloading and installing this DLC will result in an alteration of the reunion scene with Liara on Illium? Obviously, Liara's character model included in the retail version of the game will be replaced with the updated version seen in the DLC screenshots, so I wonder if this will also result in the actual scene direction and writing also been completely redone?

Can't wait for this dlc to hit, although am hoping for more dlc down the road with the original crew , I would have to say the Shadow Broker, is likely an Asari due to their long lifespan and their special talents of gathering information and inspiring loyalty , Just see how Aria used this to build her empire.

So yesterday I spent fifteen hours rushing through ME1 and ME2 to beat it with a Liara romance for this DLC alone, alongside most sidequests in ME1 (I skipped the useless ones like the Exogeni Husks and such).

Skipping through all the dialogue makes the game really bugged, it's odd seeing the Illusive Man's head do a 360 turn and then fuse with the chair.

Yeah, part of the reason I never skip dialog in ME. It feels very... wrong.

I do have a single Shepard who romanced Liara in ME1, but I have yet to import him into ME2.

I still think Its the Sha'ira (The Consort) Fiery!  I convinced myself now that it is :P

I posted the below reasons in the Liara Discussion Group as to why I believe it :

Think about it, who in the galaxy has access to powerful people and all sorts of information at a drop of a hat. People queue up to see the Consort ready to tell all their secrets. Look at the Elcor in ME1, he believed Sha'ira betrayed his trust and spread his secret. In the end it was General Septimus who himself said that the information was hard to get hold anyway. The Consort can deal in information quite easily if she wanted to.
Plus on the Galactic News feed it states the consort may be leaving the Citadel... going to the base Shepard and Liara invade on lotsb I bet!! Cant fight the Consort on the Citadel and the news feed has already explained why shes not there! All neatly wrapped to me!
