I don't see her becoming the new SB. If she did, it really wouldn't matter if she had more respect in asari society, as the SB operates in the shadows and outside of it. There could be other reasons, or she isn't going to become a matron early, but they just wanted to update her model a bit to make her look more like Benezia when she was indoctrinated.

It seems they are now trying to draw some subtle comparisons between the two (indoctrinated Benezia and ME2 Liara). "Have you ever faced an Asari Commando unit before? Few humans have."

Not just healthier, but younger.  I can see the resemblence between the two more now, that's for sure.

I really don't think Liara is far from her matron stage, as I feel she will choose to enter it early for some reason.  This reason may not be just to have children, but there may be other advantages of being a Matron over a Maiden...perhaps she's now more focused and her biotics improve?  Perhaps she would gain more respect in asari society?  Etc...

Indeed, and I also agree that her redesigned character model results in Liara more closely physically resembling Benezia. Again, some people theorise that asari may begin to look incresingly like their mothers as they age, and this might be occuring with Liara, especially if she is prematurely entering the Matron stage, as others also theorise.

Would Liara perceive it to be beneficial to progress to her Matron stage early? Definitely. If she is going to assume a position of considerable power and influence, then becoming a Matron would be desirable as it is a reasonable assumption that Matron asari command more respect and influence when compared to their more younger Maiden counterparts.

I think that that will be one of the choices, because deep done in her I think she wants to be become the sB so she can help you and remember, you need to have alot of influence to get your agents and we know some agents DO know who the SB is, Taz being the main one. Shge would think a madian would be weak and thus would rather be a matron and as far as I can tell, Asari can choose to become matrons if they choose. All I know is her new look is sexy :wub::wub::wub::wub:

It is true that asari can choose to enter the matron stage whenever they feel like it (at least, this is what the Codex says).

I still don't know if she would take over the SB's empire, just replace him and keep things going as if nothing happened, but I think it's possible that her own info network might rise to become the most powerful in its wake.

That's why I think shem ight want to become a matron early, a matron can command more respect then a maidan can.I do hope Liara says why she looks diffrent, if she did then it would be great.

I'm not even sure Liara would want to use her hypothetical power and influence in the capacity of an information broker. I think that she's destined to ultimately follow in Benezia's footsteps after all, and assume a position of power and influence as a leader in asari politics, society and culture. She finds significant aspects and elements of the information broker occupation to be quite distasteful and dislikes them, but I think that her compassionate personality would dictate that she wishes to use her power to help people, and make progressive reforms.

I think that might be one of the choices, presude her that it's better to use this network to hel her people and help during the war and unharden heror become the new SB and keep her harden personality.

I wouldn't like that. Because it will look like she's being set up for a support role in ME3 then!

I think she will inevitably get into politics, but not for many many years.  I really have no clue what direction they will take her character after this DLC.  This is one reason I'm so excited for LotSB. I think I've speculated before that she may continue on with the Info Brokering for a short time in order to aid Shepard in future battles, but after she gets her brokering business stable and has most of the SB data analyzed, she may then be free to join Shepard as a squad mate in ME3.

She can be like Miri in mE2. When your not doing missions, she is at her desk writting reports and so on. She can still be a squad member and still help you out with intel. She did it similar in ME where you needed her to know where the conduit was.

Agreed, and this could be one of the functions of this "Shadow Broker Intel Centre", in that it will be where Liara temporarily resides, examining and sorting through the Shadow Broker's data, which she obviously would have come into possession of following it's defeat, in order to assist Shepard in any future battles. In due time, however, Liara will then be free to rejoin the Normandy's crew, and return as a squadmate in order to aid Shepard utilising her combat proficiencies.

Following the defeat of the Reapers at the conclusion of ME3, it is then likely that Liara will enter politics and become a powerful and influential leader amongst the asari.

Yeah, I can see this.  The galaxy will need strong leaders to help rebuild it after the gigantic war with the Reapers that most assume will occur in ME3.

If the war does not happen, then bioware just failed at doing a trilogy.
