There are three expoits which make certain boss encounters trivial, these three encounters are the orange arcane horror in the ruins in the Dalish campaign, the boss fight of that campaign (the version agaisnt the mage), and the fight agaisnt the brood mother in the Orzimmar campaign.
The limitation/bug in the first encounter against the arcane horror is this:
- After the melee skeletons are dead, it is possible to wand the arcane horror to death with a mage while the rest of your party is dead
-This deals with problems/issues with line of sight
-This arises when the mage is situated on top of the stairs in that room in such a manner that the arcane horror wands the mage but the arcane horrors attacks are blocked by the stairs or objects on the stairs
-One would think that since the arcane horrors attacks with the wand are blocked the mages would as well, this is not the case (at least in my experience), my mage wanded the arcane horror from full health to death on top of the stairs
-During this the arcane horror stood still attempting to wand my mage
The second encounter with the Elvish mage at the end of the Dailish campaign was killed in a similar manner:
-In this encounter my party, except for my mage, was dead and only the Elvish mage (with more than half health) was left
-Additionally the werewolves were still alive
-The elivsh mage focused on killing (unsuccessfully) the werewolves leaving my mage alive in a corner
-He paid so much attention attempting to kill the werewolves that my mage was able to cast spells and kill him with when he had 75% of his health
-It seems that the mage needs to pay more attention to party members
The last encounter which I found a bug/limitation was against the brood mother in orzimmar:
-It is possible to postion your party just so on the rock closest to the entrance of the encounter so no tenticles may hit them
-This allows for a party of at least 2-3 range capable members to make the encounter trivial
-This is especially evident after the two waves of darkspawn are dead as the brood mother only first poison that deals negligable damage (on nightmare)
-So essentially this encounter can be completed with one tank (to take the hits of poison) and one mage for heals and wanding
-The reach of the tenticles should be increased or the rocks should be decreased or eliminated or the poison should be AoE
