So I'm about to have a 10 day break from school and have decided to dedicate my time to BG2.

Anyone have any suggestions for interesting, non-traditional parties?  I'm especially interested in great banter and I definetly will be using the banter pack.  I also will certainly be playing with 6 characters.

I'll most likely be playing a fighter/theif.  The only character I definetly want to have is Visconia, maybe that crazy little theif/mage too.

Appreciate any help!

Haer'Dalis and Viconia sometimes have interesting banter. I once did a small group of me (fighter/cleric), Viconia, Haer'dalis and Jan (the thief/mage). Was a lot of fun.

Haer'dalis and Aerie have their own romance subplot. He also has interesting chats with a few others. Viconia as mentioned by corey, Jaheira, and Anomen. He also has an amusing banter with Yoshimo that heavily implies he's unto him.

Valygar and Mazzy are amusing with the latter treating the former as a squire. Viconia and Edwin have a few funny exchanges, though some are dialogue interjections when talking to other NPCs. Jan has at least one good banter with almost everyone. Imoen is almost mute until Throne of Bhaal.

Seagloom, I always took you for one of the nicer forum dwellers, but here you go suggesting Anomen to the innocent player.
I approve heartily. Image IPB

Thanks Corey, Thanks Seagloom. Ok, so it's looking like Visconia, Jan, and Haer'dalis so far. Heh, humanoid, I take it I should avoid Anomen? Maybe I'll go for a pure neutral party (with the exception of Visc.)

The urge to hurt Anomen is one of the things that make us human... Or at least humanoid. Image IPB

I wasn't suggesting Anomen so much as noting I liked Jan's banter with him.

I know Anomen is an acquired taste. I have him along in my current game, so his arrogance is fresh in my mind. He becomes a bit more tolerable if you romance him, but outside of that dialogue he is a right jerk much of the time. Viconia is easier to take even if she isn't the beast he is in melee. Still, the story of Ano the Orc Jan tells is priceless. :P

On the old forums, Irrbloss once gave us a "formula" to make it possible to sacrifice Anomen to DemiGorgon in the Underdark (in the SE corner of the Western tunnels: the demonknight temple). It could be considered a public service if he would post it again in this forum.Image IPB

Korgan + Mazzy + Viconia + Edwin + Jan (party o' fun)

Aerie + Nalia + Imoen + Jaheira + Anomen (party o' whine)

Would polymorphing Anomen do the trick, mayhap?

Thanks Virumor. Mazzy seems like a good, unusual addition. Korgan was cool, but I'm thinking maybe Minsc instead. When I played before I didn't play a game with him because I thought pure class rangers were garbage. I'll probably use shadowkeeper and make him a barbarian. Also not sure about Edwin, I seem to recall not being too fond of that guy.

Don't use Shadowkeeper, use the level1NPC mod. That's way less messy and easier to boot.

Mazzy & Korgan have a lot of fun interplay, actually.

Minsc is only good for one playthrough. His shtick got old pretty fast for me.
