Ok, I realize Bioware is a company out to make money, but spare a thought for hardcore gamers. Do NOT dumb down the game for little Johnnies and Timmies playing on consoles. The trend has become disturbing and quite frankly I am disgusted by the things I am seeing so far.

1) Isometric view

This game MUST include isometric view. The first person/3rd person console kiddies already have more than enough games to satisfy themselves with, no need to ruin Dragon Age 2. The game's heart should be tactics, planning out your next action, not fountains of gore and blood as you "pwn" your enemies from up close. The fact that "hack and slash" game like Diablo 3 has isometric view and DA2 doesn't is a disgrace.

2) Customization

The game must have customization of your character. Skills, stats, spells - there should be many of those. It should be possible to make a "gimp" character if you are dumb.

3) Difficulty

The game should be difficult. Period. DA was solo'ed with pretty much every build on nightmare and yet we still have people crying about difficulty. Stop. Catering. To. Console. Kids. Make the game impossible to solo on highest difficulty. It's ridiculous to see all the promises we have been fed before DA's release only to find out the game is pathetically easy.

4) Combat log etc...

The very first sign of dumbing down of original DA was lack of combat log. Why spend resources on something your usual dumb gamer has no use of? The game should include combat log, detailed description of statistics, spells and abilities.


5) Balance

Hire actual balance testers for the game. DA had so many broken mechanics, it was ridiculous. From spell immune, unhittable warriors, to mages being able to chain CC everything in sight.

5) Graphics/voice acting aren't important

I couldn't care less about flashy graphics. The game should be balanced, complex, long and fun. Don't listen to FPS console kids who thinks that gore and blood = depth. There should be puzzles, tactical combat and deep story BEFORE flashy stuff.

6) Consider not releasing DA on consoles

Consoles are a plague that has ruined PC gaming. That is all.

It's not too surprising: If Bioware actually focused on PC gaming, it would be so much better. We could actually have a difficult game with deep story and complex combat rather than something every casual can complete over the weekend.

Since when does a developer have to cater to one gaming device?  If you're so upset about how Bioware handles it's games on the PC, buy controlling stock (if a publically traded corporation) and change the direction of the company, otherwise deal with it.

Considering my name is 'Jonathan Timmie' and I play on a console I am greatly offended by this post.

But seriously, wowpwnslol this isn't the way. One thing I'm curious about: How do you manage to enjoy wow if it doesn't have an isometric view? Considering how many pc games don't have it I don't know what you do play really. I mean seriously, taking on both 1st AND 3rd person games? You're hardcore man.

You mean like their last... well just about all their games?

Dude, they aren't changing the combat, the tactical camera is getting an upgrade, and the only thing I can really think of that might mess up anything is the voiced main charecter, and that remains to be seen.  Personally, I'll wait and see on that last point, but I think the voiced charecter might just work out.

Just about every preview out there say that this is more of the Dragon Age we enjoyed last year.

If you are the most uberest person on your server with the biggest epeen, you get granted isometric view by the Blizzard devs. Little known fact about WoW!

You also get to assume direct control of your raid members to prevent their nub from wiping you.
