So I've just recently started playing Mass Effect on my laptop again and since last time I have lost my computer mouse, so I've just been using the normal laptop touchpad. This hasn't really presented a problem when I'm just searching the web, but when I try to play a game like Mass Effect the aiming is difficult and I can't seem to get used of it.

So what I decided to do was download the 360 gamepad support, and play through Mass Effect using my PS3 controller, but when I get into the game and it asks me to press the start button, I press the start button but nothing happens!

I'm gonna pick up a computer mouse pretty soon, but still I'd like to be able to play through Mass Effect using my PS3 controller, since I just prefer using a controller than a kb/m combo. I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, or if this patch supports the PS3 controller...
So any help would be appreciated.

If you download the "360 Gamepad Support", it will only work with Xbox 360 Controllers certified for Windows.

You have the choice of wired:

I don't think you can use a PS3 controller on a PC.

I'm wrong. Looks like you can use your PS3 controller on your PC. Here's the tutorial:

Yeah I know how to get the PS3 controller to work for games, I've been using it to play survival horror games on the PC for awhile now.

It just doesn't work for Mass Effect and I can't seem to find a reason for why it doesn't.

I'll have to pick up one of those 360 controllers, the nearest store for me has it for $100 though.
