This isn't a bug so much as a design flaw. On the ps3, there really needs to be a way to scroll through pages of the codex other than going from item to item. When new scrolls are picked up, It's often impossible to figure out which one is new, especially when the list gets so long. Sure, the new entries are highlighted, but if they're below the edge of the screen, you have to scroll to get to them. Which means you won't ever see the highlighting. By the time the cursior gets there, it marks it as read, and you go past it.

An easy fix for this would be to leave entries marked as Unread, even if the cursor touches them, until the player specifically marks them read.
