Logically this pack should include at least quarter of the content the original game had.
Last time I checked, $10 was one-fifth of $50 (PC) and one-sixth of $60 (Xbox 360)
I agree, however, that people in doubt should wait to hear reviews before buying. They should check the forums, too.
The one thing that's certain is that not everyone will like it.
I bought it for 40. Though I DID buy it after release so that would explain it.
So yeah, I guess a fifth then. Not a quarter.
You guys are sh*tting me.
I paid $100 bucks, Australian. For the basic game.
Yep.
Same.

Looking over your past post, I have to say: Nobody has mentioned filesize in this thread. It was mentioned in another thread, not as any argument about quality or size, but as a request to determine how much space it will take up on an already nearly full harddrive. So that part of the argument was flawed.
Really, though, I think the entire question is moot, since the worth or value of the content is not going to be identical between any two people. Everyone will enjoy it differently. Some people will think it's a bargain, others will think it's a ripoff, and the internet will be full of people arguing about that until the next one comes out.

DLC can replayed, and (if it's a quest) have a couple different story outcomes.
My issue is having to shell out $30-60 for Xbox Live in order to have privilege to buy any DLC. And I don't know when a Ashley/Kaidan DLC will be coming out, if it does. I don't want to have my account expire and then have to shell out more money to buy more DLC.

by the way, I heard that up coming DLC will be longer than any other DLC Bioware has ever released so far. so I guess that it will be well over 1GB.

3rd post in the thread actually references the original discussion about the filesize. So... I fail to see how that is flawed considering it was mentioned as one of the first "pros" of the DLC. It being the "largest one yet"! OMGS LARGEST.
Worth or value changes only if you choose to skew it with personal bias. For example, all the people say it is "worthwhile" by comparing it to various things that also cost 10 dollars. But fail to put that 10 dollars into perspective.
So overall, my argument is the strongest based on the fact that it is the only one that is grounded on actual data rather than personal opinion of worth or value. I chose to compare it to previous pricing structures. Data that is publicly available and verifiable.

comparing to other games' DLC, it's cheaper. and can't you afford to pay
for $10 seriously? it's better than movie. you can only watch movie one
time if you pay $10. but for game, you can play whenever you want. it's
value.
You can only watch the movie once but how much was the time spent with your friends worth? Is your friend worth 1 dollar? 2 dollars? 15 dollars? Are your friends nothing at all (since that's what you are currently valuing them at)?

..which is the reason why I'm waiting for a GOTy edition that already includes all the DLC.. I never would have paid $80 for ME2.. so why should I do that by paying for DLC?
You mean the PS3 version that will come out for full price, while the current game is 30$.. roughly equal to everything with all of it considered?
as a PS3 Owner who has wanted all of Bioware's games on the PS3 i could care less if it was $30 or $60. I'm buying it and the best thing no stupid disk swapping since the PS3 uses Blu Ray unlike the outdated media formate known as DVD 9

Someone, somewhere, some how is going to think any game or DLC is going to be too expensive because of varying income levels and currency values across the world.
One man's 10.00 may seem to someone else like 1,0000.00 depending on the situation.
So someone is going to end up being pissed just like you can't accomdate everyone in making the game itself!
10.00 to me? A fair price, after all, people want content and its not like the programmers and BioWare are doing this for volunteer work --- they need to be paid for the ammount of time spent in bringing you the product. The problem in this world today is that there's too much free stuff to the point where some folks believe that anything off the internet ought to be a right rather than a choice... this doesn't help innovation at all...or attitudes about consumer/buisness practices.
There is no free lunch at the end of the day, some physical work, some person's own motivation had to have been spent to create anything one enjoys. If these individuals don't get their just desserts then you'll just simply get nothing in return.

There's different coding in the australian version, so it won't work the same. There are planty of ways around it, you just have to get parts for your computer, or an xbox 360, from outside of the country. And I've heard a lot about how australia gaming goes, and it seems to be bull****

As for the DLC, I find the price ok for what they're offering (if it turns out to be true, ofc), sadly, I don't think I'll be able to buy it right away, we'll see.

What are you talking about, you only have to pay to have a Gold account , you can download with a silver account, and it only cost like $8 for a month subscription on gold.

You can actually play certain games without gold membership. I think Left 4 dead is one of them, mostly because of valve. Some DLC can't be downloaded though, which is weird (ME2 isn't one of them)

So I will take the DLC for sure. I will support Bioware as much as I can, I havn't bought a new game (excl. DAO) since Feb 2010, that must be record for me. I am hesitant to buy SC2 as I am still enjoying ME2 so much! Super game, and the DLC's are cheap, check out the DAO DLC prices, much higher!
SC2 is definitly worth it. And online is better than SC1, no more zerg rush or any other bs strategies (that I'm aware of). Plot took a turn for the worse near the end, and the ending was very abrupt and unfufilling, but the campaign was really kickass. Lots of replay value. Its a good change of pace for gaming.
Hate to drag this brilliant and meaningful thread off topic for a second but I don't think you've played enough SC2 mulitplayer. Plenty of people still use BS strategies, and the Zerg Rush still exists, though it's not as prevalent as it used to be. But I'd still say that SC2 is worth it, especially because whenever you get tired/pissed off at the league games there are a ton of custom games to play.
Anyway, back to the topic.
I'm going to buy this. As for my reasoning, now a days I'm just happy that it's not $15 for a map pack. (Which I didn't by, BTW)
