Of course, now that Liara is an information broker herself, she may have discovered the identity of her father on her own. It would be cool if suddenly Liara wasn't an orphan anymore.

It sounded to me like she left of her own accord, out of disgust.

I don't think Shepard has ever met Liara's father. Besides it is extremely doubtful that Liara's father would be in the same city as Liara without it being mentioned or having some role in the plot.
IIRC Liara doesn't even know who her father is, and from what she said, her "dad" wanted to remain astranged from her. It even makes sense why the bartender didn't give Shep any hints since it has to be common acknowledge amongst the Asari that Liara served under him.

Yes, and it also makes sense if Aethyta never once met Benezia. Not evidence for or against. Also: Liara doesn't even know if her "dad" is alive, much less that they wanted to stay away.

Who said Aethyta was exiled? Did I miss that?

Yep. She just got sick of being ignored, and went to do something more productive. Like serving drinks.

Ew. Do not bang Benezia. Her boobs will eat you.
Also, on a side note, she is dead. Necrophilia is bad.

I can't remember but did Liara say that she didn't know her father?
Yes. Ask her about it in ME1. She literally knows nothing other than the fact that the person existed and was asari.

THANK YOU! You're one of few who make sense here. I'm guessing the majority ignored my post, and my post PROVES that Aethyta didn't even know Benezia. Like I said, she was dismissive rather than hurt when talking about Benezia.
Seriously, why are people pushing so hard for such a ridiculous revelation? I like Aethyta for what she is: a random Asari bartender with a lot of stories and probably a good giver of advice . Why spoil that with some baggage on her part?

Well...Aethyta is voiced by Claudia Black. Given that the Morrigan DLC and LotSB are being released at the same time, it's likely Claudia did some VO work for LotSB too.
That might mean something...or not.

It's a Retcon, which is like time travel. If Shadow_broker convinces us that he is Liara's father, then he gets the pleasure of going back in time and boning a live Benezia over a hundred years ago.
Time travel + sex + dead people != necrophilia
