TO THE FANS:

This group has been changed from the DLC Wishlist to the ME3 Wishlist.  This is at the behest of some who want to see this the advocation of two awesome marines continue, and many things in this thread are certainly applicable to ME3.  Here's hoping we see Ashley and Kaidan in ME3!

Please show your support!  Link to this thread, or the group, or use this sig bar too!  Thanks to TeenZombie for making it and sharing it with the rest of us.

ALSO: WE WILL BE TALKING ABOUT ME3 IN HERE.  This is in the spoilers topic, after all.  So, just a heads up.

Please keep it civil.  Let's show BioWare that we're grown-ups.

GRUPPE: JETZT AUCH AUF DEUTSCH! (Danke, Chignon!)

Dear BioWare

We’ve heard new from the Game Informer article that Ashley and Kaidan will be squadmates in ME3.  Thank you so much!  From the small glimpse that we’ve seen, we’re already excited!  Kaidan isn’t wearing Phoenix Armour!
Hooray!  We hope that our two favourite marines will stay by us for as long as possible in the game.  We hope to discover even more important surprises for them in ME3!

Estelindis mentioned ways in which Ashley and Kaidan could be developed as separate characters in this post:

Here’s a very brief summary of ideas that  fans and supporters have suggested be in ME3.  We know you are in charge of creating ME3, but we're hoping you consider some of our ideas too. If you can put even a fraction of these elements in it would be greatly appreciated by fans.  Important items have hearts.

 GENERAL REQUESTS

Posted ImageHave Kaidan or Ashley rescue Shepard, because Shepard’s rescued them one-too-many-times.  It would also show how both characters have become leaders in their own right.
Posted ImagePossibility of Paragon/Renegade interrupts?
Posted ImageAshley and Kaidan as permanent squadmates from the beginning to the end of the game (yes, we've upped this demand)!
Posted ImagePlease spell your characters' names correctly.
:)Regarding their armour, please make it appropriate, and please give us choices. Many people love Ashley’s
signature Phoenix armour, and many people also want to see her in something else. Also, Kaidan seems to have heavier armour than Ash does, even though he’s a biotic and couldn’t wear medium/heavy armour in ME1.
:)Regarding the trial: can we please see the entirety of it? We can choose how to respond, we can see if Ashley and Kaidan are there, and what they have to say. That would be nice.

CHARACTER AND RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT REQUESTS
:huh:While we’re not expecting to fully pick up our relationship where we left off in ME1, there is still a previous relationship there.  What if they initiated the issue of, "where do we go from here?"
:huh:You know, nobody ever asks Shepard how s/he is doing.  Obviously, these two characters care about Shepard.  What if they asked how s/he is doing?
[*]Should this option be available, please, please, PLEASE DON'T make the romances the same  with only a few extra references lines for the faithfuls.  We believe the relationship dynamics would be different from starting a new relationship versus a previously established one.
<3There’s some questions as to whether or not non-romanced Kaidan and Ashley’s can be romanced by Shep in ME3 if they didn’t in ME1.:)More platonic friendship/romantic moments would be awesome. Remember the drinks with Chakwas? Could we have a drinking session with our squad? That was a nice bit of banter and commaderie.
:)That being said, we don’t expect everybody to be buddy-buddy with Shepard. Please put in different relationship reactions for Ashley and Kaidan—anger, sadness, happiness, sarcasm. Make use of the dialogue wheel please!
Posted ImageThe confrontation on Horizon needs to be addressed, and Shepard needs to explain why s/he is with Cerberus.
Posted ImageAn emotional reconciliation with Ashley or Kaidan, which is reflected differently as a romance or friendship.  We want a chance to start friendship/romance reparations--just some sort of olive branch for ME3 (like with Liara in LotSB).  Also, we would like it salvageable regardless if we blew up/kept the Collector Base.
Posted ImageDiscuss Ash or Kaidan’s pain over Shepard’s disappearance.
Posted ImageMany people also want to have the option to choose more emotional dialogue for their Shepard. S/he’s been dead for two years and lost a friend/lover. We would like to see her/his emotional reaction of this loss (and preferably says something more heartfelt and emotional about the issue than, "I got better").
Posted ImageKaidan and Ashley are two different characters, and unfortunately are always lumped into one persona: the "Virmire Survivor" (VS); we would like unique dialogue, actions, cutscenes, and abilities that reflects their respective personalities, talents and character growth. Although some people might not like Kaidan and/or Ashley, sagequeen posted some awesome suggestions that would get people to appreciate them more, and seeing those suggestions in a game would make fans ecstatic as well.  Please include unique dialogue and reactions for each character, and not the same dialogue by different VAs.

That being said, here is an eloquent quote from drsxf7 regarding their personalities (edited for space):
Please, Bioware, do not change Kaidan’s and Ashley’s personality.  I know character development is necessary.  I mean, it has been over two years since Kaidan and Ashley were in our squad. But there is a difference between character development and a complete character overhaul. The writers might try to do this to placate the haters who think that Kaidan and Ashley are boring.  I do not want to see Kaidan turned into a bitter, depressed, jerk or Ashley turned into a ultra-violent, psychotic, Jack-wannabe, or vice versa.
DO NOT WANT (PLEASE AND THANK YOU)

Posted ImageThe option to kill Ashley or Kaidan
Posted ImageEvents on Horizon to be left undiscussed
Posted ImageKaid and Ash melded into one person
Posted ImagePhoenix armor on Kaidan
Posted ImageA resurrected, zombified Virmire casualty
Posted Image"Kaiden."
I'd recruit Kaiden just to watch him fight it out with Jacob. Vanguard vs. Sentinel ftw

It's a lose/lose situation if they fight.

One way, you get bland boring Jacob. The other, you the wuss Kaidan.

Unless they kill each other.

IF the Liara DLC turns out good, and IF a DLC featuring the Virmire survivor would be good too, I would probably buy it. Even though I'm quite disappointed with the main game, and even though we shouldn't forget that this content should have been in the main game from the beginning.

A proper continuation of the romances is a must. And that does not mean just some "love scene", that wouldn't do the characters justice. Apart from that: The more dialogue and the less of the usual pew-pew, the better. Decisions would be nice too.

-Make the VS DLC post-suicide mission, as a bridge DLC.
-Have Shepard issue copies of the Collector base data to Alliance, through Anderson, to restore trust.
-Pursue or end any LI relationship. Kissing scene would be great, Ash in tin foil skirt would be fabulous (after a nice dinner scene, of course). Visit to Shepard's cabin a good location for dialogue and remind VS frat regs no longer apply...
-Hint at what Anderson and VS have been working on behind the scenes, to give players a sense that some people DO believe, outside of Cerberus...

Well there's no guarantee something like this in the works, but it sure would be nice if it was. (I'll try to be optimistic)

If they are working on something like this:

- I'd love a mission that is not totally interchangeable between Ash and Kaidan since they're different characters. It sucks they just get lumped into the "Virmire survivor" category.

- I'd like the chance to apologize to Ashley as well for Horizon since Shepard basically just stood there like a big dummy (and on that note I'd like better writing of their dialogue).

- And and like an opportunity for a little friendship/relationship development that hints toward ME3 and how those characters will develop.

- And it would be nice to have a fun kick-ass mission to go on with them. I miss having Ash in my squad since she's only female soldier class in both games.

I support VS DLC. Shepard and the VS have much to talk about and sort out, romance or no. Those who romanced Ashley or Kaidan should get the opportunity to continue the relationship, or end it for good, should they want to do that. Also, many who didn't romance the VS still consider him/her a friend. A friendship doesn't end just like that, so again, they have much to talk about.

What has the VS been up to in the 2 years? and so on and personally, I don't need the pew-pew stuff at all :P

I support this 100% and like some of the ideas mentioned here already. I reiterate that I would like for them to be squad mates throughout the DLC, even if temporary.

There definitely needs to be romance continuation, of course.

 • Collaborating on a mission, a la LotSB.  Possibly this could be favour from Anderson to prove your loyalty?  Or, possibly, Cerberus and the Alliance are examining the same situation, like Horizon (except without the Collectors.  Assuming this is a post-SM mission, they'd be seriously handicapped).  Then there's an accidental meet-up, and it would be better to work with VS survivor.
 • Date on the citadel, or at least a conversation or two about the reapers.  An extra (extra-long) conversation if you've romanced the VS
 • Access a new area of the Citadel.  Or possibly Omega (I really like Omega)
 • New combat suit for Shepard
 • New casual suit for Shepard

I'd definitely buy this. Great idea. Posted Image

I would really like to see Shepard finally have a chance to talk to the top brass from the Systems Alliance Military...please note that neither the human nor alien led Citadel Council are directly responsible for leading humanity. Only the Alliance has that role. Is Cerberus still a secret part of the Alliance? Or is the Alliance really sitting on their hands, letting Cerberus grow in power? I think it would be a great bridging DLC to touch on these issues, and would fill in some plot holes.

As for the Virmire Survivor, I would love to see them, even as a temporary companion, fighting along side Shepard, and finding out more about Shepard's mission and the circumstances of his/her death.

Hopefully the Shadow Broker DLC gives us a hint of what's coming next. Can't wait!

@ systemlord-- a love scene isn't necessary, but i know there will be a lot of requests for it; I addressed the issue that if you're going to ask for a sexy scene, ask for something else too so BioWare knows we want character development.

I think having the opportunity to end the romance, or suggest continuing it (if you were faithful) is a great idea. Since we all didn't romance the VS, the friendship needs to also be repaired.

@ badpie, mashavasilec-- you're right, Kaidan and Ashley are two separate characters, and should be treated as such. Two different quests, depending on who you saved would be fantastic, and of course different dialogue.   But I say VS because it suggests either/or character. Kaidan could clean up some BAaT skeletons, and Ashley could try and prove herself to dispell Shanxi prejudice.

Furthermore, Shepard NEEDS to flesh out the details of her death to Kaidan and Ashley, and hopefully they could be convinced.

I'll throw in my vote for dlc that has unique lines for both characters and some form of romance content.

Perhaps a meeting on a random planet where Shepard gives some info regarding the collectors/reapers in a post-main mission quest.

These are some good ideas.  It could also pave the way for Shepard to rejoin the Alliance, if desired.  I'm personally done with Cerberus.

I would very much like to see this. I have bought just about every DLC so far (armors aside - i like the original, thanks) and have loved them to bits.

With that said, a Virmire Survivor (VS) DLC would make me positively giddy. I would like to see:
 • IF Liara joins with Shepard post-suicide mission, I would like Shepard to be able to reconcile with Ashley/Kaidan in some way if Shepard chooses, regardless of it Shepard is a paragon/renegade, blows the base/etc. Those relationships should be salvageable regardless of how shep played things
 • Perhaps the above could be accomplished by Shepard showing Alliance hypocrisy to Ash/Kaidan if Shep took a more renegade route; OR by showing loyalty to the Alliance if they took a more paragon route.
 • One good reason for the above to be ignored is if this is something that will play out in ME3; still though, i would love to see it
 • For those who did not romance Ash/Kai, the above would give a good "in" with the Alliance or a clear break from the alliance, thus giving us interesting story
 • Ash/Kaidan content needs to have a friend option/buddy talk for those who were buddies with Ash/Kaidan instead of romantic.
 • Please NO rescuing of Kaidan/Ashley. they have already been "rescued" by Shep 4 times for kaidan, 5 for ashley (Eden prime from geth (Ash only), eden prime beacon, virmire, opening on normandy (Sent away), and horizon)
 • Need to have chance to talk over the "betrayal" accusation. seriously
 • Some explanation as to the missing "reply" button on the email for those who did an LI import?
 • A longer talk for imported LIs.
 • A romantic scene for faithful imported LIs (pretty please)
 • Possible renegade/paragon interrupts for imported LIs. either a cold breakup or a hastily accepted apology
 • I hate to say it, but yes, i think the VS could and should perhaps be sent back to the Alliance coldly by Shep (possibly even left to die on a mission?) if Shep did not choose to accept the apology
I would like to see the VS choose to stand with shep or not (sort of a "moment" of truth) based on how well shep handles his/her mission and convinces the VS to stay on with him or her. But that is the best I can come up with in my head.

What I would mostly like is a good VS DLC, please. Barring that, it would be fantastic to get some word about upcoming VS anything. The silence on the subject is making those of us who are big Kaidan and Ashley fans very nervous.

These people were your squad from the start! I feel these characters deserve better. Thanks.

Supported 100%. Make this happen please, BioWare. I want Ashley or Kaidan to be reintroduced into the storyline in some way, possibly acting as a liason between Shepard and the Council/Alliance, in an attempt to regain their trust.

I am a dedicated BioWare consumer and have bought all of the story-based DLC so far.  I am really looking forward to the Liara DLC and it gives me hope for the VS LI's.

I agree with the following suggestions:

What I would add to the no rescuing of Kaidan and Ash would be that it would be a really great thing if the VS instead were to rescue Shepard.  I think it would show that the character has come into their own over the past 2 years as a hero--that they have grown from simply being under Shepard's command to being their own person.

I would also add that I would like some sort of romance content for faithful Shepards.  Afterall, we made a conscious decision NOT to play a significant portion of ME2 specifically because we felt such a strong tie to our ME1 LI.  It would be nice to get some benefit from that.

I would support this DLC. Ash is one of my favorite characters as I am sure Kaidan is probably some folks pick as well.

A nice tie-in to ME3 would be great, but I wouldn't mind a totally separate story in contrast. Ash/Kaidan are ME1 LI so that could be a side story in the DLC (more content) but even if they are not a player's LI, there is plenty of story to be told with these two characters. No slight on the Liara character, but IMO, Ash/Kaidan had more personal story then she did in ME1. Most of Liara's story involved her mom, then her experience with Prothean history. Ash and Kaidan involved more story on a personal level, THEIR background, their experiences.

I think DLC involving these two character could provide lot's of interesting content.

Fully support Kaidan/Ash DLC! Please make it happen! Mostly want to finally be able to say what I should've been able to say on Horizon. Also, they need to be treated as individuals again so we can get a totally different experience.

Oh and everyone may not agree, but I'd like the chance to initiate a romance with them at this point. Not as deep as the romance ME1 imports have, but still a chance to start one...for people like me who have never been able to leave Kaidan behind on Virmire to give Ashley a chance. I would really like to start something with her without having to go through Virmire =/

I completely support this idea and echo the request for unique content between the two - sure, you've made characters that are foils, but they're still individuals, and they should have different reactions to situations.
