The thing I liked most about Liara's apartment was the diploma....I squeed for real.

That really made me smile.  So did the dishes in the sink.  

I'd like to see  one or two framed pics of Ash and her family, maybe a poetry book or two.  Some free weights.  I think it would be sparsely personalized because I'm thinking it might be a temporary or scarcely used apartment given her current assignments.  Her fridge might have some frozen meals, some bad leftovers and some beer.  Doesn't strike me as the real culinary type, especially if she's just making meals for herself.  I bet she gets a lot of takeout when she's around.  Probably knows the delivery guy's name.

Echo Badpie's comments for Ash's apartment. For Kaidan's, maybe some New Age self-help books, or something. And the Kaidan girls are gonna hate me for this, but maybe something he keeps around for sentimental reasons because it reminds him of Rahna.

Why would you think so?

Not that I think this is bad (though I'm not a Kaidan gal) but I'm just curious why?  And... what he would keep from her?

I know there are some Kaidan girls who take issue with Lilith *standing near* Kaidan, to say nothing of his "date" he mentions. Other women (of any sort) in Kaidan's life don't tend to be received very well, and since he used to crush on Rahna, well...

As far as what sentimental thing he might actually keep, I actually have no idea. He'd probably have to be around to explain its significance.

Kaidan doesn't strike me as the new age self help kinda guy. He's a guy that just deals. I don't particularly think you'd find anything regarding Rhana either. It was so long ago. If anything we might find a LOT of news articles, pictures and information all about Shepard. He strikes me as the kind of guy to kind of wallow by himself. Fully functioning individual by all outward appearances, but I can see him still obsessing over Shepard's death.

I like to think all three ME1 LIs have something of Shepard's (or something that reminds them of Shepard) that they stare at wistfully before they go to bed at night.   I know Liara had the dog tags and part of Shepard's armor. 

What does that leave for the others?  I don't know.  I would have preferred if Liara (who got the tags and the armor) would have given them to Ashley or Kaidan if they were the romance partner but this wasn't the case.

I really wanted Ash to be able to hand over Shep's dog tags to him.  Liara, even when not romanced gets all the good stuff.

So I don't have any idea of something they would have to remind them. Actually I'm thinking that while Kaidan may have an abundance of whatever he could get his hands on to remind him of Shepard, Ash might be the opposite, opting to try to put him out of her mind as much as possible.

I can think of something of Shepard's Kaidan would definitely keep around, unfortunately it pertains to some of my head-canon that revolves around my female Shep, Cara.

I think he may be keeping a picture/holo of him + class mates back in BATT and not just about Rahna's, IMHO. However I would totaly flip if we could visit the VS's appartment/office and find a picture of the whole SR1 crew hanging on the wall and a picture of Shep (if romanced) on the desk. I have a mental image that after a time upon Shep's death those picture would be placed neatly under the drawer, as an effort to move on. But after Horizon those picture would be out again

Yeah I don't think Ash would have a pic of Shep on display. Maybe one turned down in her desk drawer like you said. Out of sight, (hopefully) out of mind.

I think either one of them might have a pictures of an old crew and family/friends, a scale model of Normandy. Ash would definitely have poetry, possibly one or 2 paper books and a ton of Data pads and maybe a lone lipstick or something. After horizon they might even have picture of Shepard somewhere visible. some basic workout equipment. I can see Kaidan having a lot of tech stuff around a more involved personal terminal, assorted parts, tech magazines, while Ash would have might have future equivalent of "guns and ammo" or something.

otherwise, it would be pretty utilitarian, military neat.

I'm actually hoping that some of any of this will be done by Shepard alone.  I don't need Grunt and Miranda tagging along with me while I go visit my woman to patch things up.

Reason being it will probably explode or something if we go there first thing. Like Liara's apartment at the beginning of LotSB...granted it didn't blow up, just some bullet holes in the wall, but who wants to risk it right?

Hmmm,,, lets see, so far we have:

• Shep's helmet acquired during the Normandy Crash Site mission (that helmet always creeps me out for some reason.. and it's placed on the desk near the bed. Arrrgh )
• Dog tag & armor part is with Liara, aaand
• Shep's body armor on Legion (wonder how he got that?).., am I missing anything else..? hmm..

Well, the harder I think of it, maybe the VS really didn't have any memento of Shepard aside from the memories of them being together. After the attack on the Citadel, they could be very busy (with the next up coming missions, also with each other) and neither of them would expect Shepard to die so soon.

The shock, grief (plus busy military schedule) might prevent them from seeking a part of Shepard's possession as keepsakes because it was just all too painful. That the only way they know how to honor Shep is by trying to continue his/her work, fighting the good fight. I'd like to think that Liara at some point did want to hand over those dog tags to the VS, but she just couldn't do it since it will be a sharp reminder to K/A who are trying their best to move on.

All that aside, maybe this time around they both will get something for each other's reminder. both of them could each have a locket with their picture on it, a couple's ring or heck, in my mind, My Shep traded pistols with Kaidan that has a sentimental engraving on it : "With all my love. Shepard" (pardon for being sappy. This is a girl who romanced no one at ME2 after all )

Anyhow, that's just my personal take on 'keepsakes' that the VS have over Shep. Sorry for the wall o text

Honestly, I thought Liara having some of Shepard's armor was a little icky. The dogtags, though, I thought that was sweet and realistic. Kaidan having a bunch of articles and stuff about Shepard would be more in the "armor" camp than the "dogtags" camp for me, personally. A little too TOO. A single picture of Shep, maybe another of the old Normandy crew, but more than that would start to get obsessive, and Kaidan never struck me as obsessive. He struck me as extremely well adjusted. He would grieve, he would take (apparently a lot of) time to get over it, but he wouldn't construct a creepy scrapbook shrine, you know?

I would much rather if Kaidan/Ash was resolved as an overreaching arc in ME3 instead of DLC.
