Maybe you should play ME1.  You might like it.  And if you don't, you don't have to buy any DLC with Kaidan and Ashley in it.  Good way to find out, anyway.  :innocent:

If Shepard and Ashley are talking, I would like the option for Shepard to ask about Ashley's family.

Does the squad need yet more humans? Really boring ones at that.

Nope.  It needs its genuinely interesting ones back.  ^_^

Arguably it does.Kaidan and Ashley were the only humans on your squad in the far-off forgotten first installment of this supposed trilogy, and by the end of the game one of them *had* to have died, so you had a single human squadmate. One solitary human.

As for being boring, if a human squadmate has to be a superhero in order to be interesting, I think you need to get out more.

There is nothing interesting about them, either in gameplay or background. They are about as 3dimensional as cardboard cutouts.

You're right.  They are pretty three dimentional and down to earth.  Thanks for your support.  :wizard:

Down to earth another word for boring?

If that's your take on the character, then I guess you don't really need to be posting in this thread.

You do realise that this is the Kaidan and Ashley ME2 DLC Wishlist thread, you know, where people post what they would like to see in a DLC that includes Ash and Kaidan?

You did not? Why, thank you! I'm glad I could help to clear up your confusion - it was no trouble at all. Bye!

Seriously if you can't even make an arguement for why they are interesting I think I've proved my point.

Please go away if you don't agree , well boo hoo.

I'd also like to see something like that. Maybe also a few more information on Kaidan's family. We know next to nothing about them.

EDIT

If you want to discuss why fans of Ashley and Kaidan think they are interesting characters then you are in the wrong thread. Go to the appropiate support threads.

If you have nothing else to add to the discussion at hand, be it constructive or interesting, stop posting.

All the cardboard cutouts I've ever come across were pretty 3-D.  They have to be to stand up, after all, as is their purpose.

Down to earth is merely in touch with reality.  They are the common man, man.  ^_^

You know what the thesaurus says about common man ? Average person
Hardly a ringing endorsement.

PS I'm not going to explain how carboard cut outs actually stand up , but feel free to look it up.

Average people are vastly important in sci-fi.  But you know that, don't you?  ;)

As for cardboard cutouts... they're certainly not flat and hanging on a string, unless you've lost their third dimention or have a very small apartment.  ^_^

Dude, if you have a problem with Kaidan/Ash then ME2 must have really pissed you off with all those caricatured shonen anime refugees like Jack and Samara.

Maybe as NPC's

Shepard is too exceptional for average to work around him. That's the ways he's written. He's basically outgrown Ashley and Kaiden, it happens all the time even in real life.

If you stand a piece of paper up it does not become 3 dimensional. Posted Image

Without a doubt, the Virmire survivor will be a part of some bridging DLC. Haters are going to hate, or troll. :)

I'm sorry, I know my comment is going to be off-topic, but this analogy is really irritating me.

Paper is three-dimensional.  It has height, width, and depth.  It may not have very much depth (compared to most objects human beings interact with on a day-to-day basis, because, as we all know there's a universe of microscopic, three-dimensional objects out there),  but it's there.

BobSmith101, what you really mean is that there's no way to make an image three-dimensional.  An image (like the image of my avatar over there) has height and width, but no depth.

Please, let's stop with this butchering of the concept of 3D.  I know I'm being nitpicky, but seriously, it's driving me insane!  Thanks.  ^_^

Shepard has outgrown the characters that helped him to achieve the impossible in the first place?

Shepard has outgrown Kaidan, who would outrank Shepard in the Alliance now that he is Staff Commander, on top of being one of the few stable biotics with L2 implants? Someone with over a dozen special commendations, who has served the Alliance for over ten years and never lost a soldier under his command?
Shepard has outgrown Ashley, who managed to survive on her own on Eden Prime until Shepard arrived? Someone who made it to Operations Chief despite her family being blacklisted and who is a fine soldier?

I don't think so. Posted Image

Not that we've cleared that up, can we please get back on topic and away from cardbox cutouts, Jack, Samara and whatever else was brought into the discussion?

A new question:

Do you want to see decision you've made in ME2 referred to? For example, on Lorek where you can decide to send information that could be harmful to Cerberus to Alliance command?

If Shepard has outgrown the common touch, then Shepard is worthless as a protagonist and we need a new hero for ME3.  :crying:

Also, cardboard cutouts are cardboard, not paper.  Paper wouldn't have the spine of cardboard, if you follow me.  And they still have the cardboard going in three dimentions - it's how it stands up.

And to tie Shepard's humanity in with Kaidan and Ashley (and I know Liara can be there, too, but since we're on Kaidan and Ashley), I really miss the locker scene in ME2.  Something like that in the proposed DLC would be fantastic.  ^_^

Actually I totally agree with that I was just saying on another thread it should have been a trilogy about the Reapers not about Shepard.
The whole deus ex machinia of reseting to level one annoys me since it's not my character anymore whatever the claims may be. Half expecting something equally stupid in ME3 so they can get you back to level 1. The ME2 system is functional, but not much room for growth there beyond level 30.

Liara has herself became "fantastical" she's now the shadowbroker that makes her a good match still.
