Well, it's not on the top of my want list, but I do want armor, real armor, for the group who forgot to pack it.  So while not jumping up and down, I'm smiling.  :)

Well yeah, I'm also in the 'give miranda an actual armor' camp ;) I like her ^_^ But I won't buy that appearance pack before the VS dlc is being announced (or a guaranteed happy ending with the VS on ME3 :bandit:)

Ok, back on topic.

I think the VS dlc dialogue wheel should contain something like:
  • a well develop romance track where we could patch up things and continue on as LI's again,
  • a good depth of friendship track for those who didn't romanced the VS (please make them react differently when greeting a romanced Shep / non-romanced Shep <_<)
  • and a dialogue option to speed up the lengthy conversations for the Sheps who prefer to.., "Hey, Yo'. Nice to have you back again. Now lets kick some as*"
Or something along those lines ^_^ Btw it's 2.30am from where I am now, so I hope my above posts makes any sense :pinched:

Edit: nicer layout

Whew.... Read the entire tread and joined the group! I'm all set! More Kaidan and Ashley to the people =) Just finished my first ME1 game today and I'm completely hooked. Did ME2 before =)

Let's just hope that they will come out with info after DA2 is released. Don't know if Bioware use to try to time it so that they wont have two things getting out at the same time. That's at least what I'm hoping for =) That way I can be happy happy for DA2 and then a little while later happy happy for VS dlc. I would love it if there were a bit more talking with you LI and companions in ME3. Had the feeling that there was more talking with Alistair, Leliana and Zevran but I could very well be wrong on that point. Get me some more Kaidan-time and my shepard will be a happy girl.

I won't be happy.  They did the arrest thing in DA and it was ok because no matter how you played, Loghain was going to try and stop you.  But with Shepard, depending on how you play, there are choices that would make being arrested dumb.  I have Shepard's that were reinstated as spectre, sent the information to the alliance and destroyed the base.
Whatever they do, the story should make sense no matter what your choices were and to me being arrested does not fit that bill.

I think being arrested would still make sense, because you ARE still working with Cerberus, a terrorist organization. That doesn't get handwaved away just because you did a paragon playthrough. Everything you did would be perhaps a mitigating factor that would get you out of going to Space Prison or whatever, but arresting you and putting you on trial? Especially since the Council mostly hates you and your rabblerousing? Yeah, I can see that.

Not saying I want to see that, necessarily, but it makes more sense than you're giving it credit for.

No, it gets handwaved away because Hackett says so.  :D  Hackett totally knows what's up - and the Alliance is totally in bed with Cerberus at its top levels.

Hackett is the man. I think IF the allaince sent someone to arrest Sheaprd Hackett would show up in person saying something along the lines of "What the hell is going on here, I order you to release the commander!" in his silky smooth voice. Then Shepard salutes.Posted Image

Well, there you go. Ashley/Kaidan come to arrest you, looking miserable about it but they're Good Soldiers so they HAVE to and then Hackett rolls in, does his handwaving, and then the party gets started!

I can't imagine Ashley actually killing any marines, but I'm now picturing the scene should the marines turn on Shepherd.

Ashley: You can't arrest the commander!
Soldier: Step aside Williams, we have our orders.
Ashley: And I have my loyalty.
Ash charges the commanding marine, lifts him over her head and slams him to the ground.
Lots more crashing sounds from the room, then we see the last marine crash through a window.
Ash (cracking her knuckles): That was fun, I needed a good workout.

I'm assuming Shepherd isn't the only one with strength enhancing implants here, it would be interesting to see if Ashley recieved them too.

Kaiden would have a different variation on this scene, throwing the marines about with his biotics.

And yes, I would like to see some acknowledgement of my current relationship with Cerberus.
When the opportunity came up to release the damaging intel, I chose not to give it to the Alliance, because even though I play Paragade, I don't betray the people I work with, areas of grey or not.
But Cerberus can't count on that card being played again, they used up their last "get out of jail free" card at the end of Mass Effect 2.
I blew up the Collector base and told the Illusive man "From now on we do things my way, you can either stand aside or help, but don't get in my way".

And yes, I'm looking forward to Miranda's new Cerberus armor.
Given that I have no game content left to play and see her new outfit, Miranda will be the one I take out to play with Ashley.

And there's most likely some dialogue gold to be had there.

Ashley (seeing Miranda): Let me get this straight, you're going into a trial accusing you of collabrating with Cerberus and this is who you bring as your character witness? Shall we go and pick out your cell right now?

Snip

Branching off of Tilarta'sidea. What if Major Antella, from admiral hackett's lair of the shadowbroker
dossier lured the commander out in the open and then captured him for
interrogation? The interrogators? Major Antella, and Ashley(or Kaiden), who is
sent by Anderson to make sure Shepard is not an impersonator and to be the Good
cop to Antella's bad cop. They question you about your whereabouts for the last
two years as well as your relationship with Cerberus.

If you act like paragon. The interrogation goes through as planned and you gain
valuable insight as to what the alliance has been up to for the past two
years(reverse interrogation). You gladly divulge information regarding Cerberus
and convince Ashley/Kaidan that you are who you say you and that the galaxy
needs you to stop the reapers, But the major is convinced that you're holding
back and elects to incarcerate Shepard for several more months. Ash(or Kaiden)
protests but Antella outranks her so their isn't much she can do. Several hours
later in the interrogation room Shepards bindings come free and an acess card and
an ear piece are slipped under the door to the interrogation room.

If you act like a renegade Major Antella gets more agressive and Ashley (or
Kaidan) start to become visibly uncomfortable(even more so if you were her LI)
as the interrogation swiftly becomes a torture session. The Major demands that
Shepard relinquish all intel he knows about Cerberus during the torture
session. Of course renegade Shepard being the badass he is tells him off.
Ash(or Kaidan) starts to plead with the Major to lighten up. The major instead
pulls a gun on Shepard, saying he's going to put a bullet in each extremity he
has unless Shepard talks. Then finally Ash(or Kaiden) has seen enough and knock
the Major out with a punch. They free Shepard and give him thier acess card as
well as the Major's ear piece.

Tilarta, whenever you make up dialogue for Ashley, I can always imagine her saying such things.

I guess I spent a lot of time hanging out with Ashley if I can write dialogue in her style.

Aside from Wrex, I spent most of my time with her as a squadmate, so I guess I learned her personality fairly well.

*De-lurks*

Something that I've been thinking about for a while - which has also come up in conversation here from time to time:

Ashley and Kaidan have radically different abilities - Soldier/Sentinel. With Liara we had a stage which was (at least partly) set up to take advantage of her biotics, yet I've seen this used as an argument *against* VS DLC.
After all, we can't set up a mission which has useful terrain for both of them? Can we?

Well, in all honesty, and with the fear of feeling like Bob the Builder - Yes we can.

Say that we set up a stage with a number of cliffs, pitfalls, etc, to take advantage of Kaiden's biotics. (Tech abilities are useful pretty much anywhere that the enemy has shields or synthetics, so that's less of a level design issue.) We'll probably want some nice open areas with which to ragdoll throw people around, but  that will depend on what biotics Kaiden ends up getting.

Then look at Ashley.
If she ends up with concussive shot, then those cliffs and pitfalls favour her as-well. Even if she *doesn't*, soldiers are useful pretty much anywhere. Those open areas I mentioned? Sniper Rifle. Anywhere closer up - assault rifle or boomst-uh, I mean, shotgun.

For that matter, not all of LotSB's areas were useful for Biotics. Think of the claustrophobic corridors with lots of shielded enemies.

Moving on from level design - enemies we'll be facing. You'll note that I'm ignoring storyline in this post - I'm just going to focus on what would work well with Ash/Kaidan's strengths. Personally, despite my growing boredom facing Mercs, I think they'd be the best choice for this. Shields will get knocked down by Kaidan's tech abilities, and I can see Ashley packing some disruptor ammo. Alternatively, I could see Bioware introducing a new synthetic enemy - particularly as we're building to ME3 here.

That's just my thoughts though, and if Bioware is going to do VS DLC, they'll have already figured this out. And put more time into it than I have.

(And if they're not going to do VS DLC? Then ME3 had better have the VS back, and in a big way!)

*Returns to the shadows - for now*:bandit:

If the dlc that comes out is bridging ME2 and ME3. Do you think it should only take place after the end of ME2, that you had to do the suicidemission first. Then Kaidan/Ashley will know where you have romanced anyone. All lot of plotpoints are known then, wheter you keep the station, which of the crew is still alive. What do you think, should you be able to play it anywhere in ME2 or only afterwards?

I think any DLC should be left till after the SM.

Meeting with Kaidan and Ashley fits the storyline best.

You meet them on Horizon approximately 1/3 into the game. You can't join them because you're on an important mission and vice versa. That mission is kicking Collector butt. It doesn't make sense to join up with them, and for the Alliance to call on you, when you're not done the very mission that you're too busy to originally join them for.

Too little time has passed, in my opinion, for a meaningful reunion.

This is supposed to be bridging DLC, that takes place after the SM as BioWare said. It defeats the purpose and meaning of, "bridging DLC."

Also we need fourth option-dialog to officially break up with ME1 LIs. It's something I really wanted in ME2.

Even though my Shepard is still carrying his torch for Ash, I agree with this.  One of the things that frustrated me the most about LotSB was that Shepard could talk to Liara about his new LI and then "get back together" with her anyway.  (Although this worked for that particular Shepard, since he's kind of a jerk).  I would like something clear.  I would like consequences for cheating/moving on!Shep.  Although, perhaps those are coming in ME3?  In which case, I suppose I could wait...

Hmmm, kinda wish there would be some news on what dlc they're doing atm >.< It doesn't matter when they'll release it, I'm just curious what's its all about? If it's about the VS then I'll be a one happy bugbear. If it isn't then I'll..... -_________-'

Hm...

Idea: Special Forces Type Mercs :bandit:

They employ the latest technology stolen by their company's connections + spies.

Remember how I suggested those old Geth Stalkers/Ghosts, etc? Well what if the mercs have their technology; the geth tech that let them jump all over the walls.

That' be neat wouldn't it? We'd still be fighting mercs, but now with a acrobatic twist (pun kind of intended) :D

I have mentioned before that the next DLC should be playable only AFTER you have completed the suicide mission too. As for when it will be announced, my smart money is GDC in March at the earliest with a release date sometime between April/June. Just a guess but it fits what they have done in the past.

Ooo and 3 BioWarians on twitter have mentioned going to GDC lately...that's a good sign they will have something to show or announce, whether it's DLC or ME3. I wish I could go :(
