I think that this must be the VS dlc if there is ever going to be a VS dlc. And the reason I think there will be is due to a statement a dev said before to someone in the Kaidan thread, I fergot what it said exaclty, but I remember it sounded a awful lot like they're planning a dlc invlolving the VS.

Would that be this?

I just got a lovely reply from Jesse, I will just pop the most important part of his reply on here
''I can't give details for obvious reasons. But I can tell you that I've not forgotten Ash and Kaiden at all. They are pivotal to the Mass Effect franchise... I wish I could tell you more!''
How nice is that? :-)
PS he uses smileys a lot too, lol ;-)

(I know it was a while ago, and I'm not entirely sure that you'll see this, but thanks again Jenova65 :))

Looks like we may get some details about this "Arrival" DLC with the release of DA2, according to an alleged flyer allegedly found in an alleged copy of DA2. This post cannot be considered binding. ;P

The video is on youtube, it's real. I so hope Bioware dont dissapoint now! I know that this must be the VS dlc! But deep down, I am worried we will be dissapointed again.

Not to be a downer, but uh.....

how do you know that this MUST be the VS DLC?! And since when was it confirmed that there would be a VS DLC?
just wondering! ... you know I love ya dude! :wizard:

Well i didn't mean it literally, you know? lol. Thats why I said ''But deep down, I am worried we will be dissapointed again'' after that.

And there isn't much left for Bioware to bridge, the Alliance is one of the biggest issues that needs to be bridged, as there was a huge lack of the Alliance in ME2, if it involves the Alliance, it will likely involve the VS.

And the reason why I think Arrival is the dlc we have been waiting for is becuase this seems to be more than a normanl dlc, the fact they are advertising it in the box of DA2 leads me to believe this will be a very big dlc, if it wasn''t for the trophies I would think this is a expansion.

Yeah I cant get my hopes up too much, but I cant be pessimistic about everything. After months of dissapointment it actually looks like we may just get something involving the VS, there may not be, but nothing wrong with getting my hopes up once again! Image IPB

Yes, there is a reason not to get your hopes up... cause when you come crashing down.... I don't want to have to hold you.... again. :P
lol j/k

The thing about the trophies though... is weren't there only a couple? I heard that LotSB had more, so wouldn't that mean that it's a shorter DLC?

Actually I heard there was only one trophey on the PS3 version, or so I heard. There was more achievments on the 360 and PC versions.

Confirmed via PS3Trophies.org, LotSB only had one trophy attached. However, Overlord had both of its trophies. Therefore I can conclude that we are no closer to having any idea what to think.

Hooray!

@Darth--very good point!

That's what I was thinking on the bus today.

DAO had ME2 stuff in it.
DA2 has this in it.

Really, if it's only a 2 hour DLC, why bother making 1 million flyers and then taking the trouble to put it them all into the DA2 cases?

That is exactly what I was thinking today. I wouldn't mind an extra 10-15 hours of gameplay with my favorite Marine. Image IPB

Now picturing this scene:

Ashley and Shepherd walk outside to find a dead Reaper on the lawn.
Ashley: Damn, what did we do last night?
Garrus walks up, reading a PADD.
Garrus: Good morning Commander, you have an urgent message from the Turian Councillor, Apparently somebody dropped a Reaper on his house with the message "Dismiss this" engraved deep into the hull.
Shepherd: Okay, tell Kasumi to get rid of all the alcohol on the ship, that's the last time we mix the red and blue drinks.

Well, Chris Priestly did say that in the upcoming weeks, there would be news of Arrival. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon.

Should this DLC feature Ashley and Kaidan, how would you like them to be introduced?

Have Hackett give Shepard a call on the Normandy, a call not
an e-mail telling Shepard to come to Arcturus Station.  When Shepard gets
there s/he goes to Admiral Hackett's office and Ashley/Kaiden is there and
still bitter over everything that’s happened and s/he says some more
hurtful stuff to Shepard about being a traitor and then Shepard tries to
explain his/her actions again but before it can go any farther Hackett tells
them to cut the crap and then explains to Shepard what’s going on that
Kaiden/Ashley came across some information about the mass relays and Amanda Kenson while investigating Cerberus. Shepard says this, Ashley/Kaiden says
that, then they agree to put aside their problems and work together and then go
off to do whatever the DLC story is.

And
one thing I’m hoping for is what Brodyaha said about Shepard showing a little
more emotions in this DLC.   Correct me if I’m wrong but I don't think I
ever heard Shepard tell Ashley/Kaiden or even Liara that he loves him or
her.  Anyway I doubt this will be the introduction, but who knows I just
wish they would tell us already.

Well, I'd like to see Hackett start this all off, maybe even get a face-to-face meeting with the Admiral.
Having to report to his office and getting the assignment in person.
Something along the lines of "we've lost contact with *VS*, can you go to LocationYXZ and ascertain their status, they were on a deep cover mission and we need to extract them with their intel".
Maybe even toss in a line about how Admiral Hackett can't trust "certain chains of Command" and bringing in an outside force with no ties to the chain is better then marshalling Alliance forces.

Well, for Ashley, I'd like to see a recreation of their original meeting.
Basically, you charge into battle and find Ashley giving the enemy her assualt rifle brand greeting.

Hmm, as an aside, has Ashley ever been featured using her sniper rifle?
I do recall it was her secondary special weapons skill in Mass Effect 1.

It'd be nice to see her with some extra special weapons, like a souped up Assualt Rifle and Sniper Rifle specifically made for her.
Maybe even include those as research projects to add them to the Normandy SR2's armory when the DLC is complete.

Actually, that would be a way to make it different, Ashley gives you the AR and Sniper Rifle, Kaiden could give you whatever weapons he uses.

Nothing to indicate that Kaidan and Ash are involved but at least there are "news."

I haven't read the whole thread yet, so I don't know if this has been addressed earlier, but I hope that Bioware make you able to respond negatively to the VS. In LotSB, you basically HAD to be nice to Liara, no matter if you hated her throughout the first game and all that. I'd hate to see them do something like that Kaidan/Ashley in their (possible) DLC. I don't hate Kaidan and will most likely be nice to him if I see him again, but I hated LotSB's ''Liara's in there!'' and all that. It gave you no choice. Extremely annoying. So here's to Bioware giving us renegade responses to Ashley/Kaidan.
Edit: Also, I'm hoping for Garrus and Tali to have some sort of say seeing their old friend again. I liked Garrus on horizon for example, it was a nice touch that Bioware remembered that Garrus had fought alongside Kaidan for a long time back in the good ol' days. I hope to see something similiar in their (possible) DLC. Garrus maybe being a bit pissed at Kaidan/Ashley after Horizon (Especially if you brought him with you there) and Tali would probably be happy at seeing Kaidan/Ashley again, although maybe being a bit confused over Horizon.

Darn, did I miss out on Garrus dialogue for Horizon?
I had Mordin and Grunt on the ground for that mission.

And yes, I would like to see Garrus talk to the VS.

Given how he tried to get Tali talking in the Citadel stairwell, I was hoping he would try to talk to Liara in Shadow Broker.
No such luck, unfortunately.......

And it'll probably be the same for this next one.

I'm trying to get some clues as to what's going on in that picture.
Unfortunately, there's not enough detail in the armor to tell me if they are Alliance personnell, Eclipse or Blue Suns.

I think they're a new one, like the Shadow Brokers army.
And yes, you missed Garrus dialogue. Right after you admit working for cerberus:
VS: Garrus too?
A bit later.
Garrus: Damn it VS, you're so focused on Cerberus you're ignoring the real threat!
Also yes, it was a shame to see no Tali/Garrus - Liara dialogue in LotSB. I hope for bioware turning around now.

Just asking here, how many of you ppl feel optimistic/pessimistic that 'Arrival' will actually feature the VS in it and why?

I maybe more in the pessimist side (pls pls pls Bioware prove me wrong!) we've been getting screenies / hints about the upcoming dlc but no mention of whatsoever about the VS so far -___-'

I've always wondered if they did put the VS into a DLC, how would it effect people who didn't buy the DLC. But then I guess thats only the same as starting up a relationship with Liara again, but the VS seems like too big a thing to have in just a DLC.
