this dlc would help a lot. if there was some legit reason behind their actions on horizion then i am all for listening to them.

If you play through the first game you find that Cerberus is technically a terrorist group that tests on non-consenting humans.

well i ask this then in Mass Effect 2 who wants to stop the Collectors and fight the reapers. Its clear the alliance nor the so called human lead Council want to fight the Collectors or the reapers. so who is it left to then. I mean Shepard can not do it alone. so yeah what ever Cerberus did in ME 1 they seem to be the only ones who want to wage war on  the Collectors or the reapers.

That doesn't make them good though. They're still racial supremacists. It's a situation where Shepard is stuck. :?

well since i did not play all of ME 1. i understand what you are saying.

yeah bioware did a ****** poor job on filling us new comers in on the story of ME 1.

i'd suggest finishing me1 then your opinion may change concerning ash and kaidan.  they have been integral to the plot since the start of the series.  you definitely are missing out playing the games out of order and not even completing the first.

a dlc about these two characters could offer you background information on them.  also, afford you the opportunity to acquaint yourself with their situation and viewpoints.

i'm hoping we get ME 2 dlc that involves them because they has a impact on ME 2. they have a story that i do want to know about

Also, I liked the game better when Shepard wasn't a replicant.

Perhaps Dr. Chakwas should give him/her one of those replicant tests from Bladerunner.

Chakwas: You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down...

Shepard: What one?

Chakwas: What?

Shepard: What desert?

Chakwas:  It doesn't make any difference what desert, it's completely hypothetical.

Shepard: But, how come I'd be there? Am I on a bad-a## mission?

Chakwas: Maybe you're fed up. Maybe you want to be by yourself. Who knows? You look down and see a tortoise, Shepard. It's crawling toward you...

Shepard: Tortoise? What's that?

Chakwas: [irritated by Shepard's interruptions] You know what a turtle is?

Shepard: Of course!

Chakwas: Same thing.

Shepard: I've never seen a turtle... But I know what you mean.

Chakwas: You reach down and you flip the tortoise over on its back, Shepard.

Shepard: Do you make up these questions, Doc? Or do they write 'em down for you?

Chakwas: The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.

Shepard: [angry at the suggestion] What do you mean, I'm not helping?

Chakwas: I mean: you're not helping! Why is that, Shepard?

[Shepard has become visibly shaken]

Chakwas: They're just questions, Shepard. In answer to your query, they're written down for me. It's a test, designed to provoke an emotional response... Shall we continue?

well your Shepard may have problems working with them. but My male and female Shepard have no problem because they brought me back and the alliance turned its back on me and sent spies to spy on me. ME 2 is about loyalties well then if thats the case after what the alliance did my Shepard and his crew know where their loyalties lie and thats with Cerberus

Miranda specifically says in the beginning she wants to put a control chip in your brain and TIM sets you up and purposely throws you into danger all the time.

Also, that whole trap that TIM sends Shepard into on the Collector ship was a nice practice in building trust.

Also the whole reason the Alliance is "spying on you" in the first place is because TIM purposely slipped misleading information. XD

Loyalties lie with Cerberus, that's classic. :P

what about the Alliance they do not believe anything you say about the reapers or the Collectors and they basically sent a spies to spy on you.  i trust Cerberus at least Miranda was up front and honest and TIM is openly honest he is all about humanity. I can not say that about the Alliance

TIM: Shepard. Williams is on Horizon and the Collectors know about it. They could be using her to get to you.
Shepard; Wait...
TIM: Okay you got me. I fed a bunch of "information" to the Alliance so now they're spying on you! Isn't that great?
Shepard: Um...
TIM: No really I promise I won't do anything like that again.
Shepard: O...kay....
TIM: By the way there's this um..."disabled" Collector ship that the "Turians" took out that you should check out.
SHepard: Why are you...doing finger quo-
TIM: It doesn't matter! I brought you back from the dead! DANCE MONKEY DANCE!
Shepard: Sigh. ....*dances*

The Alliance "spying" was TIM's fault, as I said.

And people being honest about not trusting you does not make them more trustworthy. If it did then you'd be trusting the Alliance, Anderson, and Kaidan/Ashley because they're also honest when they say they don't trust Cerberus.

You didn't play the first game so I don't think you really know the Alliance's motives and why they distrust Cerberus. They're very well founded.

Anyway, this is the VS dlc thread. If you want to ask about the Alliance vs Cerberus, there are probably many threads on it. I strongly encourage you to take a look at them and see what people that played the first game have to say.

that whole issues could have been solved if Shepard had a legit chance to chose his side. but no Bioware does a ****** poor story telling job and you see what happens when a game's story is so messed up

Yes. As we said, TIM told Anderson that Shepard was with Cerberus and that Cerberus may have been responsible for the human disappearances.

Do you actually listen to the dialogue of the characters in the game, or do you skip it to get to the shooting parts?

then going with that logic one would assume that Cerberus and the alliance are one in the same. so why does the game make it seem like they are at odds. if they are speaking with each other. Bioware needs to fix this crap with Alliance Vs Cerberus. because its starting to sound like Cerberus is the alliance's own PMC group

I do but one thing confuses me is Cerberus part of the Alliance because edi says that Cerberus encouraged the alliance to build the original Normandy.

TIM lied about Liara working for the Shadow Broker, he sent Shepard into a trap on the Collector's Ship, he will stop you from going anywhere whenever he wants to tell you to do something, he leaked information on Kaidan/Ashley's present location in order to lure the Collectors to Horizon...exactly what part of those things is trustworthy?  Shepard is a pawn to TIM, and I'm pretty sure that if/when he's done with you, he'd chew you up and spit you out.

Say what you will about Kaidan and Ashley, but considering the way the Horizon scene was written, not jumping at the chance to go with Shepard, and even calling Shepard a traitor, made sense.  Shepard did not give the Virmire Survivor any reason to trust that he/she was not brainwashed, deluded by Cerberus lies, or had been a Cerberus agent all along.  Shepard does not tell the VS the specifics of how he was resurrected, he does not tell them about the suicide mission, and he does not make it clear that working with Cerberus is the only option currently available.

Virmire Survivor DLC would be a chance to finally allow our characters to tell Ashley/Kaidan all of these things, and could expand upon what role the Alliance will play in ME3.  That can only be a good thing, whether you're a fan of these characters or not.

If you have an idea to agree with, that's fine. But could we please keep the thread request related, and discuss spoilers elsewhere? I understand it might be hard to have an Ashley/Kaidan DLC request thread without discussing what improvements we'd like to see, but please keep references vague. I haven't been on the Social BioWare forums long, but I know enough that being off-topic and spamming are great ways to get a thread closed. And that there have been previous Ashley and Kaidan request threads that have been shut down. Let's not make this one of them.

I think if there was to be dialogue in a team-up mission/dinner.

1) First meeting in DLC: strained etiquette. A bland, "Hello Staff Commander." "Hello Commander." For example. No calling of first names.  Things are pretty cold at this point.

2) As mission progresses, perhaps some banter occurs. The familiarity of being part of each other's company and watching each other's back breaks down some barriers. Kaidan/Ashley discusses their quest over the past two years and promotions. Ashley should swell with pride, considering family history. Kaidan should be more humble. At least, this is how I feel their personalities are.
Maybe gets mad if Shepard keeps insisting on the real reason s/he's been absent for 2 years. Cold shoulder dialogue.

3) Startling information about Cerberus/Alliance! Changes Kaidan or Ashley's opinion, or makes them reconsider previously held views. Apology for ME2 events? To which Shepard makes another apology? Or a chance to ream out Ashley/Kaidan for their reactions on Horizon.

4) "Let's talk, Shepard." Dinner! Commence repairment of relationship (friendship/romance), discuss issues at hand. Depending on dialogue choices. If in a faithful relationship: confirmation from K/A that they want it to continue, but they want to take it slow. Hug or a kiss. If friendship restored: a wish of good luck, and a hug, and perhaps an agreement to work together again.

well if it takes dlc to straighten this whole mess out then they better make the next dlc focus on kaiden and ashley because the whole story of ME 2 is starting to suck donkey balls since bioware failed to tell what the real story with the alliance and Cerberus is

okay, so for DLC wishlisting (trying to get back on topic) i think it would be cool to
  • see more of the presidium (would be reasonable start point)
  • would LOVE to see more of cerberus command centers, if that wouldn't totally spoilerific the game
  • would love to see anderson again (omg, temp squaddie?, k, just thinking out loud here. we already know his melee attack is awesome)
  • would love to find permanent place on normandy for kaidan and ash, cause i'd love to see them as a squaddie. curious how they will do this for liara dlc. will give us an idea, i think, of what to expect
  • would love to have additional casual uniforms for shep. would totally make sense for ash/kaidan to be in alliance utilities. depending upon outcome, have ash/kaidan join shep and be in cerberus gear at end or shep be able to burn all casual uniforms with a cerberus logo?
i refer to jho's fanart for inspiration there

the kaiden and Ashley dlc is a better idea than the Liara one.
