A major Alliance DLC without Ashley or Kaidan in it is practically going out of your way to ****** off the base.

Either that or it's just really inconsiderate, this whole pack really screams as though it was done on the cheap anyway... reused enemies and textures galore, Hackett with a Zaeed face.... maybe we should be glad that they can't even be bothered to sully the memory of the two BEST human squadmates in the series. period.

Maybe... Though look at it this way.

At least every save must have a VS thus they will at least play a decent part for the ME3 Finale compared to the killable ones.

If Kaidan / Ashley ar NOT in this DLC i will be really, really angry, sad ... whatever.

Bioware should not start a romance in a game if they are not willing to continue them.

.

It will continue in ME3.

The Liara-romance WAS important enough to be continued in a ME2 DLC .... But the Kaidan / Ashley Fans are NOT important enough .... :pinched:

In a official thread (old Forum) the told us the romances will ALL be continued in ME2 ..... so mutch about Bioware and how they care about their fans.

there is still hope for V.S. This was posted in a ( no spoliers ) thread ( Interesting thing is he replied to a kaidan fan girl and said he was being interviewed by a kaidan fan girl at ign. Could this mean Ashley is in Arrival?) fingers crossed

one thing that confuses me is that it's odd that someone who's been studying the mass relays etc for years is a bit of an odd choice to also be an undercover operative, seems a bit too much dedication really, but also, could kaidan and ashley really be undercover? arent they an alliance hero and one of the most famous people in the galaxy for saving the citadel, i'm not sure how long they could last undercover before someone recognises them, the people on horizon knew who they were.

I don't see how you can interpret it that way. All I asked was if Kristine Steimer was going to talk to him. I just prefer her over other IGN interviewers because she's a huge Mass Effect fan as well as a Kaidan fan so she will ask all the right questions. It doesn't imply anything more than that. It's ok to keep your fingers crossed tho ;)

Because I remember last time, LotSB had its trailer come out a week before its release.  And all the other DLCs have trailers too.

It's just an assumption, however.

If nothing else, the presence of Hackett does suggest some kind of degree of involvement with the Alliance. If there were ever a better chance to put the VS back into the picture, I can't imagine what it would be.

But wouldn't you figure the BIGGER draw would've been mentioning the VS directly and not Hackett?

I'm sadly, apprehensive that we won't be seeing Kaidan or Ash in this DLC...

I have to agree as much as I really, really hope they are in it I think it would of been mentioned rather than hackett. Image IPB

Thinking about this from a standpoint of what would make advertising sense, even if The Virmire Survivor *does* feature in this DLC, I can see why they might not be mentioned in this press release. Unlike Hackett, The Virmire Survivor is one of two possible characters, and it seems to me like it would be awkward to say "and featuring in this DLC is one of two possible characters depending on how you played ME1, except oops ME2 is 'the perfect jumping on point' for the franchise so you might not have even played ME1 in which case it depends on whether you play as a male or female Shepard, and even then only if..."

What I mean by this is it would be hard to promote an appearance by The Virmire Survivor in a way that makes sense when all the angles are considered. Unlike Lair, where Bioware/EA were free to assume everything because they already had the road paved in gold and olive branches for the messianic return.

Yeah, but you could easily say "A former crew member" or "Ashley or Kaidan" or something like that.

I'm hoping I wind up eating these words, but I'm gonna be pessimistic for now. Image IPB

We have 847 people in the DLC group.

I am hoping that means something.

If anybody is reading this, join! Let's try to have 850 for today! Let's show support for Ashley and Kaidan!

It means 847 members for our lynch mob if the VS is not in Arrival.

See Kelly Chambers over for the signup sheet and a free flaming torch&lighter pack.

Um, my Kimbri Shepard killed Kelly and the crew accidentally.  Who should she have hold the signup?  :P

Grrr... none of the leaked Cerberus Network feeds for the next week mention the Alliance Rep.  I REALLY have to know prior to playing (or perhaps even purchasing) the DLC.  If the VS/Alliance Rep isn't a big part of it like Liara was, I'll be really disappointed.  There's nothing I can do to keep my hopes down.  The best I can do is go into it with my eyes open.  I'll have to count on you all to tell me next Tuesday if Kaidan/Ash is in it or not before I play it after work.

Then I suggest you wait a few hours until other people have gotten to play it first. I expect if the VS is in this DLC, it'll be posted pretty quickly after release.

I guess I'll be delving in the spoilers section first before getting 'Arrival'. If the VS is in there then I'll be one happy bunny, if not... -___-' (I'll pass the dlc and wait for ME3)

Ok...not very likely but I try to keep my last bit of optimism

It wouldn't make sense to have Alliance related dlc without Ash or Kaidan, but I can understand why they wouldn't say they're in it. For marketing purposes. It is different for everyone. However, if I get it and there's no surprise appearance by them I will be really upset.

Literally all I require at this point for Ash and Kaidan is the chance for Shepard to have this conversation (romanced or not):

Shepard: "So we cool?"
Ash/Kai: "Yeah we're cool."
Shepard: "Cool."

That's all!

They're doing a Q&A with Mac tonight apparently. Let's try and ask about Ash and Kaidan, although I can already hear his response on the matter.

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to say "yes you will see them."   Unless they want it to be some awesome surprise.  But it seems to me if marketing is the reason they haven't mentioned it in their advertising there should be no reason he can't answer a direct question from fans who are actually interested in the subject.

I don't know why they do these Q&As when they won't actually answer anything.

I'm just saying don't hold your breath on any explicit or direct answers. Until they unglue their mouths on ME3, we won't hear anything other than meta-info.

You know what? I'm not the biggest Kaiden/Ashley fan in the world, but you guys seem nice enough I'll join your group to show some unity.

Its kinda like voting-- it means nothing, but it makes me feel good inside.
