Some food for thought:

We know Kenson is indocrinated. We don't know how... but we can assume it was from Object Rho.

This mission is available AFTER Horizon. Who do we re-unite with on Horizon?


Hackett (as far as we know) is not indocrinated (why would he be? geez I hope he isn't... (( ). He learns Shep got captured. Who do you think he's going to send to lend him a helping hand? ))

At this point, I would be happy with at least a mention or reference to Ashley. I don't want her personally in Arrival; I just want to hear my Shepard talk about her on one occasion. Same goes for Kaidan. Somehow I doubt we're getting even that.

yes and no.  I wanted to know in advance.  I was convinced that the VS would be in it because it made good, logical sense.  But I am glad I know ahead of time.  I would have gone through the game expecting to see Kaidan at any moment.  I would have been crushed to have played through several hours of gaming to realize it wasn't going to happen.  I would rather know now than find out the hard way.
But it has completely ruined my faith in BioWare.  I have lost my faith in anything that the writers and devs have promised us in the past.  They say what they think is going to sound good without any intentions of actually following through.
And the result is that the two best squadmates in the entire series are ignored again.

Past behavior predicts future behavior.  BW has sidelined the VS in the past, they will in the future too.

I'd feel really sad to see the thread close completely.  If you still have the energy to keep it going, Brody, could we just change the title and a few elements in the OP?  Bioware still needs to be reminded we love Ashley and Kaidan and want to see them receive a satisfying role in future content.

It's still not impossible that they won't show up. Only a fifth of the DLC was previewed, and no other plot info was revealed when the preview guy asked about it. It's possible IGN is just assuming they aren't in it because it's not like Shadow Broker with the character being the focus of the DLC.

And there's a few other suspicious things (Anderson's message, a temporary squadmate spot that's quickly vacated, not being acessible until you've had your encounter with Ashley/Kaiden) that make me not count them out yet.

But they could not be. Just speculating.

*delurks* I'm going to be seriously pissed if Kaidan/Ashley doesn't show up in this DLC. I know IGN says no, but I'm hoping that's just based on the small portion they got to view--though I find it hard to believe that they'd post such a definitive answer without having gotten said answer from Bioware.

I'm already no pre-ordering ME3 because of what a debacle DA2 was--I know, I know. Before you start flaming me, I know they're two totally different development teams.

But seriously, what direction is Bioware going in these days? Though--contradicting myself--at least the DLC seems more story driven than "bang-bang-pow-pow!" shooterish.

...we'll see how this all plays out.

Out of curiosity, how would you feel if you finished Arrival, checked your email, and found a new one from Ashley or Kaidan (whether LI, friend, or rival) as the only content?

It would make it a little better. I stress a little because I was really hoping for some facetime. Being my temporary squaddie is what I really want, though. But honestly, what could Kaidan or Ashley say in another e-mail that they haven't said already?

Well, my femshep never did hear from Ashley after Horizon, and she really misses her.  (That's why I listed the friend/rival possibility too.)

Hell they probbaly died off Screen since Walters is in charge. the DLC comes with a galatic news update of them passing in their sleep.

Speaking of Galactic News, has the Cerberus News been updated? I remember it being said that we should get a week of news updates before the the release. Think we can pull any clues from that? I would check but my XBox 360 hates me right now.

Cut that defeatist talk.  While I understand we have to accept that we're not always going to get our way we shouldn't accept it until the time has passed.  Declaring hope for a smaller concession upon hearing we might not get what we want sends the wrong message; at best it shows that the smaller concession is all we require to be appeased, and at worst it shows we'll take two or three hits to what we expect in even stride.

The Tali/Garrus fans didn't settle when they wanted a romance.  They raged, endlessly, about why they should get one despite there being no set up for it, it making little sense, and being potentially fatal to both parties.  I don't think we should be unreasonable, but I also don't think we are.  Tali and Garrus fans got their romance as well as having them back on the team, Wrex fans got a rather extensive cameo, and Liara got an extensive cameo and a dedicated DLC.  We should continue to hope, and to an extent expect, that the VS will play prominently in the Arrival DLC until release day, if it turns out we don't get what we want then we start talking concessions (as in what they have to give us to make up for it).

It's too late to change anything in the DLC but we shouldn't let that, along with and increased unlikelihood we'll get the VS in Arrival, keep us from telling Bioware what we really want.

Here's hoping.  Perhaps the lack of VS in what's been shown is just to get us down so when they do appear in the DLC the moment will be all the sweeter (kind of like getting a present you wanted but were sure you wouldn't get).

You're right. I still have faith that Kaidan and Ash will have their reunion with Shepard and it has to be epic. Beyond epic. Even if I have to wait til Me3 for it and who knows they might be in Arrival.....Tuesday can't come soon enough. I'm still gonna be anti-happy if they aren't

Uh....guys...the DLC can only be played after Horizon. Anyone who's seen anything has only seen the beginning. Any conclusions drawn from that are based on minimal evidence.

I don't get where all the doom and gloom is coming from. The fact that you have to do Horizon first should be reason enough for you to start CELEBRATING, or at least be cautiously optimistic.

If anything, you have more proof now than you ever did before.

I would like to see them in Arrival.  Not necessarilly as a squad mate, or ceven entral to the task, but just to talk with.  Like a Horizon Part 2.  Only...you know...good.  But at this pont, just having a conversation with them via comm buoy might be sufficient.  An email...no.  Just...no.

As it is, I'm definitely going to wait for more complete spoilers before buying this DLC.  These preliminary reports are taking a lot of wind out of my sails. 

I wonder if this is why they're not doing a trailer until it goes live?
