Since Kaidan & Ashley are pretty tight with Anderson (I think?), then I think Anderson should somehow be in the DLC. He's pretty cordial and seems to really want to trust Shepard, as it seemd when they meet up and from comments in Retribution. Maybe he could be a mediator for the Kaidan/Ashley and Shepard.

I think it would be very interesting to link events from the Retribution novel and ME2 video game. Kaidan/Ashley, and Anderson's feelings toward Shepard could be influenced depending on the decision s/he makes at the end of the suicide mission.

Furthermore, if BW does put Anderson into K/A DLC, and K&A were a romantic interest, I want this issue out in the open.  At least from Anderson. How does he feel that his top officers broke regs?  Does he understand?Does he care?  That could be fun to watch!

I think it would be funny if you hadn't romanced Kaidan/Ashley but Anderson asked anyway.  Like "so those rumors about you..." and there could be shocked stammering on all sides, because the rumors aren't true.

I definetly approve of this idea let me tell you. Ashley needs some kind of attention, even if I have no ability (currently) to download it, it would be nice for Ashley and Kaiden to at least get some attention for a change.

I mean if could be a mission involving covert ops and guns blazing finally ending with Shepard and Ashley/Kaiden having to work together once more or it could just be a meeting on the presidium that ends in an emotional attempt to rebuild and have a proper conversation after the Horizon debacle.

I myself would love to see this happen, just as long as I get to see Ashley return to the fray and that the hatchet can be buried in the process and she can at least return as a prominently featured character in the series (this applies to Kaiden as well. I haven't forgotten) and there can be a little bit more closure I would go to extreme measures to obtain it.

Maybe to accomadate those who didn't romance Ashley/Kaiden there can be the main ending of the mission where Ashley/Kaiden salute Shepard in a friendly way before leaving on an Alliance shuttle but also for the benefit of those who did romance them an additional scene in which they return, briefly, on the Normandy to have some extra time with Shepard. Like time to themselves sort of time.

I mean I remember Badpie put up a fan fiction a while back where Ashley and Shepard are having an awkward conversation and she is soon going to be taken via shuttle back to Alliance space but in the meantime they try to talk it through and ponder what kind of a future they have and, as expected, their emotions get the better of them and they end up making love.

After which Ashley leaves and there is still that ambiguity about what the future holds but it still ultimatley ends on a hopeful note.

That way Bioware could give Ash and Kaiden fans the romance scene they miss while still being able to keep the future ambiguous for Mass Effect 3. I reckon that could work perfectly.

Also, I liked the game better when Shepard wasn't a replicant.

Seriously. I think Cerberus forgot Shepard's emotional chip in the reconstruction. There we go! Team up with the VS to search for Shepard's heart. And we can get Grunt a brain and Jacob a waist....

In all seriousness, I think it could be really interesting to go back to the lab where Shep was rebuilt and do some poking around. I'm still expecting to find some "complications" with the new build. I don't believe for a second that TIM wouldn't have a mind-control chip installed, regardless of whatever he told Miranda. I read the novels, I'm on to you! (What kills me is that you can buy said novels in-game. Don't you read, Shepard? That guy is no good!)

While I would support this, after all the DLC so far literally having no impact in future Bioware games, I would honestly be afraid that they would just close out Kaidan/Ashley's part in a 2 hour DLC and then we would not hear from them in ME3. If that were to happen, I'd rather just wait for them to have a big part as a companion in the third game which I'm desperately crossing my fingers for at this point. If we're doing DLC and that DLC will carry over to the next game, then yes, I'd like it. If not and they just use it to write off the character than no, hell no. I'd wait another two years for real end in ME3.

If your not planning anything either way, than I may just lose it.

This.

I'm almost positive that there's more to the "rebuilding" than we know.  It's sloppy writing to have a character die and then get remade in order for stats and faces to reset, etc. - and while I know that we've heaped a lot of blame on the writing staff.... I don't think it's that sloppy.

I think that we got a pretty big clue in Overlord after there was that little 'assuming direct control' of the Shepard moment - well, this is the 'no spoilers' forum, so I won't give details, but those who have played it should know what I'm referring to.  Frankly, it made me realize for the first time just how much of Shepard is artifical and just how different he is from the character we knew in ME1.  I'd expect another DLC installment to do the same, especially if it's in somehow related to the Alliance and Shepard's former life (as the Virmire Survivor DLC presumably would be).

I mean... "Ash, I'm sorry I was a block of wood on Horizon, but I'm actually essentially robot or at least kinda Borg-y with TIM, and he didn't let my emotion chip activate at that point.   BUT I'M MY OWN MAN NOW!"  I mean...  That's pretty hard to argue with, imo.  Image IPB

Yeah, I actually have a lot of faith in the writing staff. Especially Drew Karpyshyn. As I said, I've read the novels and quite liked them. A lot of really great ideas. So I am totally willing to believe that the team has sinister plans for Shepard's new self. Suitably epic plans! (Someone's been reading too much Deathstalker....)

I too would like to see DLC which focuses on Ash/Kaidan.

It would also be great, if they were not as interchangeable as they are in ME2.

It is sloppy story telling when you have to kill Shepard at the start only to rebuild him and  then jump right to when he or she is rebuilt by Cerberus and then have the mystery between alliance and Cerberus as if this was the X Files. where no one is saying anything. Bioware did a ****** poor job and i am sorry but the Liara DLC is not the dlc they need to work on. its kaiden and ashley as well the whole alliance Cerberus issue

Perhaps as part of the VS LI reconciliation process a trip to the consort before she leaves the citadel sparks the need for Shep and the VS to sit down and fully discuss thier feelings and patch things up. If the VS isn't a LI then the consort can convince the VS that the friendship shouldn't be dismissed and that they should listen to Shep.

Either way, the catalyst for the repairing of the relationship could be the consort helping to fix things. This could be done after a shared mission where you have to both report back to Anderson and where the VS is still frosty towards Shep.

Kaidan and Ashley ME2 DLC it is greate.
I was very sorry that in my team had no Kaidan.
In ME1 he was the most interesting character of the team, I believe.
However, the reason why he had not joined the squad ME2, was a logical and correct from the standpoint of the plot.

In the DLC should be a way to convince him to join the detachment.
I think it would be great if in the course of the DLC can we, recommend Kaidan to Council as second human SPECTR. Kaidan is really worthy to become SPECTR, I think he's a real hero, like Shepard.

How do you like my idea?

I kind of like the idea of seeing more of the Presidium - the Citadel seemed so much 'smaller' in ME2 than in ME1.

Yeah in ME2 Anderson just has Udina's old room, I mean, why has a councillor got a ambassadors room? And where is Udina's room? He is still ambassador (if you haven't made him the councillor) This also puts the human councillor in a very easy place for someone to assassinate.

Hopefully in the dlc/expansion we will get to explore the Presidium once again, and a few little bonus quests lying around there. It would also be good to see how Barla Von is getting on after the Liara dlc. And maybe see the preaching Hanar, the Consort and the Elcor and Volus ambassadors.

Wasn't there some unused audio files, I think it was a  news message, stating that Barla Von died? I'm sure it'll be in Liara DLC. But yes, I'd love to see some old ME1 characters in this DLC - it'd certainly make it feel more like a part of the game. Some of the previous DLCs felt a bit tacked on and not at all integrated in the story.

I just want to say I completely support this idea! It'll be great to have Kaidan/Ashley play a role in some of the bridge DLC leading up to ME3 and it'll work well because who knows what squadmates would've survived the SM.

Theres some really good ideas here. I know it'll be more work but I'm hoping they aren't just a clone of each other..

I've seen a few people who want to see Kaidan as a Spectre but, I don't think that should be Shepards' spot alone. Besides Kaidan/Ash are Alliance to the bone. That is why I would like if Shepard has the option to not be apart of the Alliance if that is what he/she wants at least that way you wouldn't have to keep your relationship a secret any more and worry about all those fraternization rules Image IPB

I had also hope that a dev would have dropped by now. Maybe it's still a little too early for that I guess Image IPB

I just had a little neat idea I'd like to add in addition to one of my earlier posts:

Cerberus finally goes too far and kidnaps Anderson in retaliation for Retribution; In order to bring back the captain alive Shepard finds himself forced to formally sever his ties with Cerberus (if he hasn't already) presenting a major opportunity for exposition bridging me2 and me3 in explaining why Shepard was forced to leave cerberus in the end. In essence the "bridging dlc" that was promised.

Without the resources or contacts of the council or the Illusive man, Shepard finds an ally in an old friend high up in the Alliance.

What if the Illusive Man comics (starting January) function as a background story arc to an "Alliance dlc" in the way that the Redemption series provided the background story for Lair of the Shadow Broker.

If this turns out to be the case I'd say we're looking at a mid to late next year release date across all three platforms after the comic series and (existing) dlc has dropped on PS3.

I'd further speculate that whist chronicling the life and times of T.I.M. (there's a reference there for anybody who gets it) as previously announced... it would if this turns out to be true follow on from the events of Retribution and culminate in the Illusive Man capturing Anderson and bringing him in for a little chat.

This is actually a fairly intriguing idea. The new upcoming comics possibly getting an in-game tie-in is certainly a possibility, although I find it unlikely, even less so that it would have anything to do Ashley and Kaidan.

Bioware doesn't need to invent a new story arc to bring Ash and Kaidan back into the fold, they already have one that needs to be addressed: the gaping hole in the story where the Alliance should be. Ash and Kaidan would be perfect windows back into that part of the Mass Effect mythos.

The Alliance and the council turned it's back on humanity as far as Shepard was concerned; that gaping hole was of their own making. There  really was no real Alliance subplot in Mass Effect 2 in all honestly. If anything Horizon makes the prospect of saving Anderson and taking Cerberus down a peg with Ashley/Kaidan by your side gloriously splintering your ties even more likely.

Edit: Obviously the books and comics aren't required reading and the pretext is there already on Horizon (i.e. Ash/Kai won't join you because of your ties with Cerberus in the first place): they are simply there to add to the experience of the most ardent fans. So while Redemption and the Illusive Man comics (maybe) drive the narrative forward; the dlcs will obviously be very much standalone items like the games if such a dlc/arc arises.

This is a very interesting idea.  Perhaps an investigation that tests Ashley or Kaidan's candidacy for the Spectres. And then perhaps the team gets more than they bargained for.

Although I'm certianly not implying that I want a Shadow Broker clone DLC, nor an Eden Prime DLC.  But seeing as a lot of us want Kaidan & Ashley on our squad, and it's unlikely to happen till ME3 (assuming it does), then a team-up is the second-best option.  Nor do I want an Eden Prime clone---I want a separate plot, to which the most logical would be investigating Cerberus/Alliance activities, and tie-in's to the literature:

  • Revelation was the book setting the animosity between Saren and Anderson
  • Redemption addressed events for ME2
  • Retribution addressed events after ME2
  • Therefore, I do believe that Kaidan & Ashley DLC could address events after Retribution.
But I do think Eden Prime and SB DLC are good references for DLC that could work.

It probably just means they haven't noticed your request yet.

And now that I've gotten my Ash/Kaidan love out of the way I really need to put my vote in for more Anderson as well.  Anything more of Keith David is awesome.  And I also like the previously mentioned idea of Anderson suspecting or knowing that Shepard and Ash/Kaidan had been involved.

Random: I was disappointed that Jacob and Ashley didn't know each other at least by name because of Eden Prime. Could have been some fun dialogue with Shepard and Jacob.  But I suppose that's not really all that important and if it was there it was cut because of it.  Just a random thought.

That's a great idea. Perhaps this "Ashley and Kaidan" DLC can revolve around the Alliance and Council. They could bring back Ash/Kaidan, Anderson, and Udina.
