Yes I would love to see Kaidan use his powers in a cutscene. He was supposedly a strong biotic in ME1 has it all just vanished? I'm guessing whatever we get they're gonna be twins but in atleast one scene have Kaidan demonstrating his biotics would be really nice. If we get DLC anyway.Brodyaha wrote...
And I think if Kaidan had Charge or Singularity, it would be EPIC. I would love to see a cutscene of him saving Shepard using those talents.

-A new weapon either an ar or a pistol or better yet both. You can obtain it after a mission as a gift from Ashley or Kaidan if the story permits.
-New post SM dialouge for the crew.
-And the most important ...................Kasumi as a LI and I will not accept no as an answer.

Would also cost a bajillion dollars to regroup the entire team (multiple languages) for voice acting.

Its true, Kaidan's been promoted to a higher position than her, yet they still end up doing the exact same roles within the Alliance? Seems a bit ridiculous and make the Virmire decision feel pointless. I know that once I watched Horizon with Kaidan I was in no rush to playthrough and see Ashley's because obviously it would be a mirror.Dave of Canada wrote...
My biggest problem with Kaidan and Ashley is that they are both used interchangeably and that a DLC using both would either have less dialogue or cost more to balance the need to recruit back the two voice actors for every single language that ME is made for. Then the mission wouldn't be personal to Kaidan / Ashley because they have to be in the same mission, saying the same thing as the other would and such.
It makes me sad that Ashley / Kaidan are essentially throwaways.

Yeah seriously Shepard and VS arent even together at present, so why would they be fighting? Jealousy? Oh please, the mission should be too important to bicker over nonsense. And esspecially because in happened in the first game, is the VS really going to "fight" over Shepard again? lol imagine...kraidy1117 wrote...

I know its cheap but in the world I live in when people say they love someone then have sex with someone else the person that is cheated on is usually mad but thats my world and yours could be very different.kraidy1117 wrote...

However, I think that's why a DLC actually makes the most sense. In ME3, they will not have time or energy to spend on making Kaidan/Ash highly differentiated characters. Seriously, they won't. Add in squaddie banter, cinematics, etc. and it gets more complex. That's why if they're going to do something seriously showcasing the VS it really ought to be in a specific story set just for them.
And it doesn't need to be totally new dialog in each case. You just need one or two moments showcasing Kaidan with biotics, Ash with AR and different dialog for the friend/romance convos. The rest of it ("Oh my God! If I'm reading this right, then Cerberus didn't really go rogue from the Alliance after all!" or whatever, just an example) could be the exact same dialog, easily. Not unlike male/femshep, but just a few well-placed differences of dialog and cinematic moments. They can both talk about what they did post-Normandy crash, but it could be slightly different lines. I don't think this is too much out of the way IF they go and make a VS DLC with two different VAs anyhow.
Also, I don't know if it could be done in any possible non-cheesy way, but it would be nice to see both VS in the DLC - a picture, an old vid, a flashback, i dunno - just something to tell the players who didn't do ME1 that there is another VS out there and if they play a different shep they will get that different experience.
Sure, it would be tricky to pull off, but BW clearly proves they do tricky storytelling well. Again, I think a DLC is the time to give the characters their full due, because ME3 is probably going to be a wild ride with minimal time for hashing out who said what on Horizon.

That's why I think this DLC could help fix the problem by explaining what they did during the 2 years Shepard was out. Assuming Bioware doesn't make them do the same thing, of course.
I still would like the option to make things worse between Ashley/Kaiden and Shepard,or at least not on good terms till ME3.

If you have a better suggestion, please feel free to say so.
If there's enough consensus, it's added to the OP so BioWare doesn't need to comb through 30 pages of discussion to find out the most requested ideas.
If anything, it's the opposite. Here's something I posted in the Official Campaign and Storyline thread (subsequently shut down) that justifies why Kaidan and Ashley deserve to be developed, and to be recognized again as separate characters.Dave of Canada wrote...

It includes justification for Wrex DLC, so excuse that slightly off-topic part.
Edited so there's no LotSB spoilers. There was originally different paragraphs describing each character, so apologies if this excert seems a bit clipped. ME1 references ahead.

Honestly got the feeling that we won't see anything significant in regards to Wrex/Ash/Kaiden do to the fact they can be virmired, and it's just too expensive do VA work for a character who won't even be in the game for a long stretch of time.
How much character development and resources did BioWare pour into writing, recruiting VAs, and developing those new LotSB characters? And, did BioWare take a gamble on potentially (worst case scenario) nobody liking these characters? Yes, but they still developed them anyway.
Now, let's consider Wrex, Ashley, and Kaidan.
Virmire can be the last major mission before heading to Ilos, so at least Ashley and Kaidan can both be in most of ME1.
We can save Wrex on Virmire if we choose.
All three have different personalities (although Ashley and Kaidan were strangely the same person in ME2; hope THAT's rectified).
All three can appear in ME2. Cameos or not, they still have a presence.
50% of the people playing ME2 imported a Shepard, which means 50% of those gamers know who these characters are.
So: yes, these characters can die. But they're already had so much time, energy, and resources poured into their development. But as we've seen in the forums, they have a huge fan base, and BioWare would earn the happiness of many fans who are becoming disillusioned.
BioWare can consider making DLC featuring Ashley, Kaidan, and Wrex, as loyalty missions it has to accomplish for the ME fanbase before we head ME3.

I'm not against the idea of a VS DLC, I'm very much for it (considering how my "canon" Shepard is with Ashley) but it just feels different. The difference between those listen characters is they don't have many variations to those lines, Marian always has like.. 6-7 lines and Feron's conversation always plays out the same with unknown (unknown as in, they didn't need to cast that ONE specific person) voice actors. Ashley and Kaidan have a lot more lines they'd need to deliver, they would need to cover story (Such as the mention of the Collector base and such), romances, gender changes (maleShep with Kaidan for example), explore friendship possiblities and such.
While they managed to pull it off with Liara, Kaidan / Ashley have a problem themselves and that the reason being they'd need to bring back two voice actors instead of one. This includes how they'd need to wrangle the specific voice actors for every single language too (French Kaidan / French Ashley, ect ect) this would mean over a large handful of voice actors to cover a single role in the DLC.
I don't want to go into ME3 on bad terms with Kaidan / Ash but I'm expecting they are going to do it that way.
EDIT: By the end of this, I completely forgot what was mentioned in your quoted post. Let me reread. >.>
EDIT2: Okay, reread and touched upon.

If a DLC does get released then I hope that the fact that you either kept or destroyed the Collector base has some sort of significant impact. This would show Ash/Kaiden that you either support Cerberus or were actually doing the right thing to fight the Reapers.

I'd happily fork out money for a Kaiden/Ashley DLC. The first thing I'd do is slap her up-side of the head though. Fortunately I still have 2 characters that have been faithful to her but 3 that went elsewhere.

Indeed. I wouldn't mind it if the DLC was only availible after you've done the suicide mission, to suit their message to your console. (Don't know whether this point has been made earlier)

Likewise, while I am a fan of poetry, it just seemed odd to me that Ashley was spouting it. Really conflicted with her character, methinks. There are already too mant strong female leads in the game.

They need to give Kaidan and Ashley a "thing," like the "thing" that Jacob lacked. I think that Jack stole Kaidan's potential thunder as being the most powerful human biotic, as Mordin as an intellectual interest.
I like their "thing" to be that they don't have a "thing", to be honest. They seem like regular people doing their jobs instead of being forced-awesome. Jacob for example was forced to be awesome when he's actually just a regular joe, leaving it extremely awkward (although the porno dialogue was wrong on so-many levels).

Ashley and Kaidan are realistic people - awesome, good looking realistic people who can kill things in exceptionally amazing ways - but hey, it's a fantasy, right? They are both the fantasy Marine next door.

what I would like to see in this expansion.
- More weapons
- another armor
- New area for the hammerhead
- 6 distinct missions for each virmire survivor
- New dialog between current squad and the mission
- New planets
- Continue the story for after the last mission. This is a huge must for me because all the dlc so far has been before and kaidan, and ashley fans got a crappy letter from their love interests so I think a DLC for your Shepard should be later.
- During the DLC you will find evidence for the reaper invasion or at the very least you get them to realize the collector threat.
