Dear BioWare:
Lair of the Shadow Broker looks great. I’m happy that fans of Liara will be able to see more of her in the game, and that people who romanced her will continue to do so. With five new achievements, and 4-5 hours of gameplay, it looks like you guys put in a lot of effort.
Where has it been said that the Liara DLC will be 4-5 hours of gameplay?

I think a sex scene would be a bit premature after 2 years of separation, IMO. Save it for ME3--and make it a good one. But I would like some good kissy kissy or snuggling like you could have with the ME2 LI's.
i think this is a good point.
i also like the idea of making sure that kaidan and ashley are clearly differentiated characters. in ME1 they were foils. in ME2 they became practically the same person, pink armor and all.
truly, the virmire decision was one of the most EPIC parts of ME1 and those of us who came to love that game and those characters would really like to see that the person who was saved didn't get saved to be forgotten forever.

You know, that's a really good point about the new PS3 players and this is a way to better intro them to the characters. The angry Horizon scene doesn't really tell a new player about them.Guanxii wrote...
If we assume that an Ashley/Kaidan dlc is coming in addition to the Liara dlc these will more or less function as proper introductions to these characters to PS3 players, right? As such, this would be a perfect opportunity to reintroduce these as potential love interests options to those who a) hadn't played ME1,were unfaithful or c) are unhappy with their current l.i. and simply want to switch over to Liara or Ashley from Miranda, for example.

It's probably not a good idea to assume that. Given how completely silent Bioware has been on the Ashley and Kaidan issue, I'd be surprised if either of them were ever aknowledged again, whether in ME3 or not.Guanxii wrote...

But count me in with the people that dearly wish that Kaidan and Ashley get the Liara treatment (i.e. their own DLC, the potential to continue their romance, etc.).

Somewhere within the topics relating to LotSB content. I remember seeing it a day or two ago. It's buried underneath a ton of replies now.

I understand that since each VS is only alive for half of the population, that BioWare might not find it financially expedient to make two separate DLC. Personally, I would be okay if the premise and key plot points for each was somewhat the same for both Kaidan and for Ashley. But I would like the dialogue to be unique for each--like in ME1 they weren't carbon copies of each other. Each character was an individual.
I think Kaidan and Ashley would each have different reactions to Shepard, as was stated above--that Ashley was actively trying to cope and move on. Kaidan was having more difficulty. I would like those differences to be addressed rather than the two be handed the same dialogue and exact same reactions.
You're right Jade-- the same mission, but with different dialogue, would be much better. It would make sense, since they're both working for the Alliance, if there was an Alliance subplot. DLC would remain on the same pack, it'd be financially more viable for BioWare to put both Kaidan and Ashley content on--as well as financially more viable for fans.
Ashley sounded like she had accepted Shepard's death a year or so before ME2 events, according to my opinion of the email, even if she was angry on Horizon. Kaidan sounded like he had finally come to grips with it the month before ME2 events.

Here's a thought:
1 - Blew Base + Reinstated as Spectre ---> Cerberus is after you, Alliance wants to see if they can trust you/wants to protect you
2 - Kept Base + Not reinstated as Spectre ---> Alliance is planning to bring you in for treason (you're too much of a political nightmare at this point)
3 - Other Combo ---> Alliance is investigating you
Ashley/Kaidan are sent to "join you" on a mission. As the mission progresses you realize their underlying motives are 1 2 or 3, depending, and picking up intel on Cerberus to help the Alliance . you can either be mad at them or try to convince them to see things your way. you can also try to tie up problems with Horizon. partial resolution, but not a complete resolution here.
then, at the end, some moment of truth where you can either try to convince Ash/Kaidan once and for all to leave the Alliance and join you and Cerberus (renegading them might have helped?) OR take out a Cerberus cell and hand the info over to help the Alliance, thus causing you to be in good with the Alliance and Ashley/Kaidan to be "on loan" from the Alliance. one ending would have ash/kaidan return to the alliance. Perhaps a VERY renegade person could let Ash/kaidan die at this point. a paragon could get alliance help with the reapers. basically, you could either get ash and kaidan OR push them away and do this in response to how the alliance treated shep.
my rambling thoughts, anyhow
I would totally love this DLC.

... to be honest, I'd like to see an option for some reminiscing about whoever didn't get saved, too. Even if it was just in the context of a Dr. Chakwas style, "Losing the Normandy sucked... and so did losing [Ash/Kaidan] on Virmire."

@ Guanxii- I prefer my method (page 2) of dealing with unfaithful Sheps, but your idea is probably the next best thing in my opinion, especially when you need to introduce the characters for PS3 players.

Yay, Udina-style: It's works for both sides! Rewarding faithful sheps and giving those who weren't the option to avoid any un-pleasentness whilst also giving you the option to be a complete jackass.
I'd imagine the accompanying choices on the dialogue wheel for those who imported would be:
I was faithful (only appears if "didn't cheat" was flagged) [Paragon]
I've moved on [Neutral]
You meant nothing to me [Renegade]

Sorry to stay off topic but was it said by a developer that this would be 4-5 hours long? Or is just some speculation that the devs have yet to come out to confirm/deny?
Now to get on topic:
Personally, now that we are getting a Liara DLC, I believe we WILL be getting a Virmire survivor DLC. I believe it will be a bridging to ME3 DLC in which it will expand the story and not be some seperate story like Overlord. And like the Liara DLC, the Virmire Survivor DLC will give us a chance to continue a romance assuming your Shepard romanced Ashley or Kaiden.

I'd be fine with a VS DLC if it didn't focus -too- heavily on the romance. I saved Ashley on my FemShep but would still like to have a moment to talk things out with her and get her back on Team Shepard.
Ideally, there should be as much friendship content as romance content. Although that... goes for pretty much every character, so...
What I mean to say is, "I agree."

I took it from Kaidan's note that if Shepard hadn't returned, perhaps he was finally on the track of really healing. But her returning has really set him back again. Poor guy. But I'm glad he didn't completely move on.Brodyaha wrote...

@Amount of romance content. Definitely the romance should be a part but not the object of the DLC. Like with the Liara DLC, there is a part of the story that bridge the two games to be told. And the VS character would be the perfect vehicle through which this introduced. The Alliance/Council/Cerberus/independent alignment issue would be a good storyline for that.

I also support the option for a romance for those who didn't play ME1. I don't see a valid reason for there to be the option for those who didn't romance them in ME1.

Kaidan and Ashley are my favorite characters in ME and their role in ME2 is disappointing at best. A DLC featuring them would be great. There are a lot a really good ideas in this thread and I really hope that some things comes out of this.

*Although, I do love Liara, and can't wait to see her rescue Feron and take that *ssh*le SB down!!!******
Also, Ashley and Kaidan should have distinctive roles for each other, and not have the same copy/paste role as is seen in the disastrous ME2 cameo.
If this happens, I, among others will rage.
