I love all these ideas! I hope BioWare is also reading them, and knows we'll definitely buy this kind of DLC.

Brodyaha, send one of the moderators a message and make this thread stickied.

I agree with the sticky idea. So I don't have to go looking for the thread when I want to read other people's posts!

Awesome! Hopefully the group size keeps increasing.

I've also talked to a mod about this wishlist potentially getting stickied; if it does, great, if not, please everybody keep contributing your awesome ideas!

This does not need to be stickied any more than any other suggestion thread for DLC does. Sorry.

I'd rather see new stuff like Overlord, or MOAR on Illium. :-) Save K and A for ME3.

I'm a bit torn on this idea to be honest, I always had the impression that the love interest from ME1 would be brought back for ME3, it was implied that that would be the pay off for remaining faithful to them in ME2. And I'd much rather have them back as a permanent squad member in ME3 than as a temporary one for some DLC.

If they're not planning on bringing them back, then definately yes, DLC for closure, but I'd much rather that the whole reunion, and making/breaking up thing be done in ME3.

I'd been thinking about how they could do a scene similar to Liara's in LotSB without it seeming quite as friendly as that was (Going on the basis that there will still be some mild tension leading into M3) and this thought popped into my head.

They go on the mission, have one or two brief talks in between, and kick the bosses' ass. Shep or the VS give a witty one liner and share a glance. But the boss isn't quite dead, oh no! Using that special bullet that's only used during cut scenes that can go through any armor, he shoots Shep in the back! He/she falls to the ground and the last thing he sees is the shocked face on his friend.

Fade back in to the med-bay on the Normandy. Shep wakes up and the VS is right there with him/her. He/she explains that Shep lost a lot of blood, but Doctor Chakwas thinks Shep will be fine. Shepard makes a witty remark and/or thanks the VS for getting him back to the Med-bay so quickly. Ash/Kaiden seem surprised at how calm he is, before choking up. They say that Shepard nearly died, again. Shep reassures them that he's fine, but they reply that that's the point! /She's/He's fine and they're nearly in tears here. It's clear to them now that they're not as over Shep as they wanted to believe (Obviously I wrote this with the LI in mind, but if not romanced than a similar diologue of admiration would work too).

Shepard can suggest that what they're feeling is a good thing, and that they feel the same way. Shep suggests that maybe they don't need to be "over" each other and he/she takes their hand. They say something along the lines of "Maybe, but right now I need to... think. About us... about everything.". There's also the "shocking revelation" that they no doubt uncovered along the way that Kaiden/Ashley needs to report to Anderson. They say they need to go ManShep/Kaiden kisses Ashley/Femsheps hand and Shepard says "I'll be here". They then depart, sadly but on a far more hopeful note than before.

The scene at the end of Shadow Broker was what really made that DLC for me (Although the rest was surprisingly excellent as well), and I didn't even romance Liara. If they do decide to do a Virmire Survivor DLC then I just hope it'll be just as awesome as that was.

I pretty much feel the same way.  I would love to see Kaidan/Ash soon in some DLC but if they do have something planned for ME3 then I would rather it be part of the bigger story.

How about a new vehicle section. Like piloting a Mantis Gunship in a specific part of the DLC.

We're not saying to sacrifice one for the other--sacrifice an epic role in ME3 for some DLC.  But if BioWare can make some awesome DLC that features Ashley and Kaidan, and allows for some relationship (friendship AND romance) olive branches in ME3, then we are telling BioWare we will happily give our money for that.  And BioWare has definitely proved it is capable of making DLC that ties to the storyline, but isn't necessarily essential for ME3 in previous--Overlord, Kasumi, LotSB.  And they've said so themselves that they want to make bridging DLC.  We're just giving them ideas.

And a new vehicle section would be a cool factor.

Edit: on another note, the thread didn't get stickied, but we have now at least had a comment from a BioWare
worker in our midst that didn't involve potentially closing this topic!   :D

Of course, the ultimate dream for VS fans might be to feature Ash in one bridging DLC, and Kaidan in another. With replacement red shirt Alliance personnel filling in if the marine in question got Virmired.

Not going to happen (really, no hope), but it might have proven a way for Bioware to start separating them from the "VS tangle" that combined their roles so unflatteringly in ME2 (Kaidan in Phoenix armor etc).

Plus it would have been hell for the fans of the character who features in the later release... "OMG Ashley gets into the new DLC but no Kaidan!!" Posted Image

I wouldn't want that, knowing how hard's it's been to watch Liara get all this attention lavished upon her it would be awful for the same thing to happen amid the Virmire Survivor camp.

Yes, well, like I said, it isn't going to happen. Posted Image

For good or for ill, I'm fairly sure the VS will continue to be tied together fairly tightly in their future appearances. I just hope Bioware will go to greater lenghts to make each of them unique.

Like leaving the Phoenix armor and assault rifle for Ash, and having Kaidan use his Sentinel abilities instead.

Any sort of appearance in DLC would be greatly appreciated, but seeing Kaidan in Phoenix armor again.....I think some eye-gouging will ensue.  XP

Phoenix armor on Ash...meh.  It's her token armor, and it looks good on her, but something different = nice too.

Well, there *might* be a case of "by popular demand" seeing as this thread is 35 pages long and going strong... ;P

I kid, I kid, in any case it's good to see BW post in here, it means someone is indeed reading this thread! :)

It's really cool to see for how many people this part is important (as I said a couple of pages earlier - this was what made the DLC for me as well, and I didn't romance Liara either). Hopefully enough people care for this personal and "human" side to Shepard that BW decides to flesh it out more. It'd really give depth to an already great story IMO.

Well to sticky would be to suggest that it might be something they're working on and there is no way we're getting confirmation one way or the other. You can bet though that if there's confirmation of it NOT happening, The wonderfully evil Chris will take great pleasure in delivering that blow. :)

I agree, I've been perusing comments and was pleasantly surprised at how many people also loved the character development throughout the DLC and at the end.   I love talking with the characters most in this game, and it's nice to see BioWare pay attention to character development that in LotSB.

Agreed.  To quote Kaidan on Virmire when talking with Rana: "You enjoyed that, didn't you Commander?"

I think BioWare devs in general are like that.  They're like Nintendo--very secretive, only leaking info when they want, to keep the fans anticipating and excited and surprised.

At least, I hope that's the situation in this case.

Something I've been wondering: Since in LOTSB, Shepard got to so a bunch of paragon interupts with Liara when she started going all renegade on us, can we get few renegade interupts with the VS when they go all paragon "Anti-Cerberus, Allaince-is-better" on us in this hypothetical DLC?

You know, just a little smack to the face and telling Ash/Kaidan that they have been dickwads?

Don't get me wrong, I love Ash/Kaidan. I think they're great characters, and I'm not saying they didn't have their reasons for how they behaved towards Shepard. But a few renegade interupts would really help some of my Shepards gain closure and be more inclined to offer some olive branches for ME3.

Going with Shepard's character development in LotSB, I want Shepard to actually show some anger towards Kaiden or Ash in the DLC. Not Renegade jerk style anger, but something different than the cold, emotionless Shepard we saw on Horizon.

Even though I like both characters, they did call Shepard a traitor, and considering that the military, regardless of background is a key part of who he is and being called a traitor is similar to insulting his family (especially Spacer Shepard). That's not something that an email can fix, and judging from dialog in LotSB Shepard isn't ready to forgive Ash/Kaidan yet.

In my mind an argument between Shepard and the VS should occur just to clear the air and set up their relationship (platonic or otherwise) to move on from what happened on Horizon. Shepard has changed quite a bit from the newbie Spectre in ME1 and in ME2 he really seems to embrace his duty to a fuller extent and is a different person than the Shepard Ash/Kaidan knew. Once that point gets across they're either going to have to accept it or move on.

To be honest, I wanted a fight with Liara. She sold my corpse to Cerberus! By the time the Suicide Mission rolls around, most of my Sheps are mostly over that, and almost all of them understand on an intellectual level that Liara was making the best of a bad situation, but some of them still really didn't get anywhere near their needed catharsis just from that one renegade line on Illium after the truth comes out.

I think the VS is set up slightly better for that; you can't leave Liara's office in a snit, the dialog wheel won't let you, whereas you can't get off Horizon without being bitter (that "I've had enough of this planet" line is hard-coded into the scene). So it seems like there's a stronger sense from the writers that there's still stuff to work out there than they had with the Liara/Shep reunion. But I do hope they realize the magnitude of it - it seems like a lot of us want a good, angry fight before reconciliation can start, but I worry that we'll get something more lukewarm or sad at best. All paragon interrupts, no renegade, as it were.

Piloting the gunship would be totally sweet - especially after that nice car chase in LotSB (I think the game mechanics are more or less there)

Also I think these would be cool and easily acomplished ideas:
- Shepard has new 'helmet' that is the Alliance or N7 military beret like what Jenkins wore in ME1.
- Kaiden having Vangard charge and Ashley having ability to carry some of the heavy weapons (like grenade launcher or Missile launcher but nothing huge like Cain or laser)
- More patterns to put on N7 armor
-New helmet that is like the ones Eclipse/Blue Suns wear.

Ash with a grenade launcher would friendly fire you, the squadmate AI isn't sophisticated enough to know when you're in the blast radius. They do well with missile launchers, though.

I don't think I want to pilot a Mantis, though. If they did it right, I'd never be able to tolerate the Hammerhead again. >.>
