I would drop $10 on a Kaidan DLC in a heartbeat. Please, BioWare, make it happen!

Awesome job everybody! We are almost at 300 members for our support group! If anybody else hasn't joined yet, there's a link to the group in my sig banner, or you can see on the OP of this thread.

Hopefully, the numbers keep increasing.

Yes Please.

I Think it Would Be Cool if Jacob and Ashley Recognize Each other From Eden Prime, Could Make for some Interesting Dialogue. Anyway yeah, Being able to continue my Romance with Ashley would be Great!

DO NOT WANT
A resurrected, zombified Virmire casualty

I admit, I loled.

I'm not surprised people want this DLC, since the Lair of the Shadow Broker 'fixed' the Liara romance but left Kaiden and Ashley unaltered. Support. My FemShep definitely needs her man back :P

The problem is that their party roles are redundant. What can Kaidan offer that Jack and Miranda don't have covered? What Can Ashley bring that Grunt, Zaeed, Jacob, or Garrus can't already do better?

I understand that these characters are important from a story perspective, but each team member has unique abilities that they bring to a shore party. What would Ashley or Kaidan have that others do not?

I don't know about Kaiden (since he's dead in my playthrough), but Ash and Zaeed are not the same.

Simple version, Zaeed is easier to break then Ashley was.

She'd throw up Resistance and be damn near unstoppable.
The ME2 version would be Fortification.
In the first ME game, she was equivalent to a Krogan. With my Soldier Shepherd and Wrex, there was no problem we couldn't solve through sheer toughness and Assault Rifles.

Which is the primary reason why Zaeed was not added to my game beyond an initial trial period, he's not the soldier Ashley is.

Fortunately, Legion is capable of filling Ashley's shoes for the most part, but he's still second best.

Which is why I desperately need Ashley back, to have a "full on combat squad".

Also, as an aside, I want a large size Assault Rifle.
Lately, I've been giving everyone who can use ARs a unique one.
Garrus and Legion get Geth Pulse Rifles, Samara gets the Mattock, me and Grunt use the Collector AR.
But I want to give Grunt something more "Kroganish". Basically, a big heavy hitter AR that's large (much like his Claymore shotgun).

Well, on the subject of what good Kaiden would be, remember that he's a Sentinel: a tough Human Systems Alliance military biotic. In addition to his biotic talents, he would probably have 2 layers of protection instead of just one. That would be his advantage over the others: biotic barrier, tech armor, and then his red life bar. One tough and durable biotic to kick some arse.

Exactly!

Actually it always gives me the ****s when you have the person who 'dies' with the Salarian team and somehow the Normandy can rescue them, but not your squadmate. Huh?

That was a different team. The folks Kaidan or Ashley were with are also dead.  They were pinned down and the Normandy couldn't get to them and they couldn't get to the rendezvous point.

Pretty sure that Kirrahe was up on the AA tower when I went up there before.  And yet alive when I saved the person at the bomb.  Kinda made me

I liked the LotSB DLC because it dealt with a prominent story arch in the ME universe. Currently, Kaiden/Ash don't have much of an exciting background because all they are doing is working for the Alliance (albeit on high-level missions). Also, I concede that I would like to work out the relationship/friendship (or the degradation of the relationship/friendship) with K/A, but it seems like something that wouldn't have much substance as a DLC. It should be included in ME3, however.

Maybe if Kaiden or Ash became a spectre and we crossed paths in a spectacular way. Or, if they were taking down a Cerberus outpost (or the result of our last big game decision) and we were sent to stop them (or aid them, depending on our position with the Illusive Man). That would be interesting... but I see it fitting better in ME3, not in DLC.

Good luck to you anyway. I just hope they don't release something you might find disappointing.

It's probably been thrown out there a thousand and two times, yet I'd like additional lines for those who "paragonized" Ashley or "renegaded" Kaidan.

eh? where did he say that?
Tho I would'nt be surprised if they are, it'd make sense that the next few dlc's are about the ME1 crew and ME1 based stories ect.. Like overlord was sorta based on the old enemies of ME1 (The Geth).
Anywayz will be interesting to see what happens tho.

I could have sworn Kirrahe was in a different team than Kaidan because I thought Kaidan was leading a team. And sometimes Kirrahe dies and sometimes he doesn't. I'm not sure what it depends on but I have never heard anything about him being on the AA tower with Kaidan or Ash.

Staying on topic, and as much as I love both Kaidan and Ashley, I'd be pretty disappointed if Bioware pulled the "oh look this person is still alive" card.  That's sloppy storytelling I think.  So none of that please in the dlc.

Perhaps a clone...:P

:pinched: No, after Star Wars murdered the "coming back as a clone" angle to bloody death, I don't want to see that used in anything, ever.

Zuess - oh they haven't finished with it, Force Unleashed 2 is beating that dead horse. Again.

Badpie - the reason they die sometimes is because how many Salarians survive depends on whether you do the optional missions of disrupting Geth communications; destroy the Geth fliers; what you do with the security system etc.

On the topic of possible cameos for a Kaidan & Ash DLC:

So far we have Hackett and Anderson, but what about other characters?

Maybe ones that have a connection to Kaidan and Ash. For Ash, it could be one of Ashley's sisters or Rahna for Kaidan. Not sure how they could be tied into the story, though. But it could add a nice touch and help to see them as two very different characters with different backgrounds if done right.

The marine you send leads a team (I think Aegor, but it's been a while); if you fail to take down the geth fliers, Kirrahe will die, and the marine will take over coordinating all three teams. If Kirrahe does live, and you go to the AA tower, he'll be in the far corner on one side of the gas tank near the ledge, and Ash/Kaiden will be on the other side. I think if he dies, Rentola is there instead.

I guess we just have to figure it's an AU kind of thing. If you choose to go to the bomb, then Jaeto, Aegor and Mannovai got separated, Saren went to the bomb, and Joker managed to airlift Jaeto and Mannovai but not Aegor, before meeting you at the bomb; if you chose to go to the AA tower, then Jaeto, Aegor and Mannovai all managed to rendezvous, Saren went to the tower, and Joker did one pickup for all of you there. Weird, and I don't particularly like it, but not totally unworkable.

Anyway... were we talking about major decisions? People suggesting paragon/renegade choices around which the DLC would hinge? Because I support that. LotSB was, obviously, utterly amazing and answered all kinds of failings in ME2-as-shipped, but on purely plot merit, I think Overlord has it beat (also, Overlord's music is better ). In LotSB, the only major choice you get is "do I want Liara as a LI," and you only even get that one if she was your LI in ME1; there's certainly a sense that Shepard is changing the face of the galaxy, but there's no real sense that the player is changing the game. With Overlord, on the other hand, the whole DLC is about building up to a single, extremely powerful choice that the player gets really emotionally invested in. Ideally, an Alliance DLC would share the strengths of both; rich character work and the ability to define Shepard and her relationships, comparable to LotSB, and powerful, emotionally involving moral choices on the level of Overlord, if not (even better!) on the level of Legion's loyalty mission or the rachni queen. Choosing a side in the Alliance vs Cerberus conflict would be a pretty easy, obvious solution, but I'd be equally happy with "save the colonists or save the evidence that Reapers exist," or "put the corrupt politician into power so you can blackmail him or get the moral politician who hates you elected instead," or anything complex and interesting of that nature.

From what I recall, he didn't say that.  I think that's from pg. 35 of this thread.I think it was just a happy, hopeful fix to maybe show the intention in his tone.  If that makes sense.
