I have a feeling that the DLC would take place after the end of Retribution.

TIM, relaying a genral warning to all cells in contact (including Normandy's Larzarus Cell). That a project that makes use of Reaper tech (Grayson) has escaped and is en route to the Ascension Project a program whose loss would cost the Alliance dearly.  Shepard and crew reach the Jon Grissom Academy, only to find it under siegefrom the Reaper controlled Grayson, after racing through the station and joining up with Anderson and Kahlee Sanders the team subdues the indoctrinated ex-Cerberus agent.

However, on the way back to the Normandy Shepard is aprehended by an N7 team sent by Naval Interal Affairs to handle the threat to Ascension, said task force is led by Ash/Kaidan. After a heated exchange of words, the camera zooms out to show the SR2 surrounded by an Alliance fleet. Shepard is arrested and convicted of consorting with Cerberus and is charged with unleashing a Cerberus weapon on an Alliance installation (Grayson) and is thrown into a maximum security cell at an unknown Alliance prison.

It is here where we are introduced to Major Antella (see Hackett's SB dossier) who enters Shepard's cell in order to "debrief" the Commander on what he has been up to the last two years. While Antella tortures the information out of Shepard, we see that one of the Major's retinue of N7 operatives is actually Ash/Kaidan, they then spring into action, knocking out Antella and his retinue and then freeing Shepard. The pair then fight their way out of the prision and procede to flee the area in a Mantis gunship, with other Alliance aircraft in persuit.

After an action-packed sequence that has Shepard and the VS battle the airforce in the gunship the pair land at landing zone where Anderson and Sanders are waiting. After introductions are made, we discover what exactly happened during the events of Retribution and what happened to the SR2 after Shepard's capture. Despite efforts on the part of the crew, Alliance forces subdued the ship and have managed to impound the vessel and its crew at a base on Luna. Shepard's mission is now twofold: clear his name and rescue the Normandy and its crew.

Assisting Shepard and Ash/Kaidan in this task is Cerberus Operative and former N7 Killer Kai Leng, who as one of TIM's best agents will help Shepard recover what is essentialy Cerberus property. The group will then head through the mega cities of Earth, evading Internal Affairs agents on their mission.

Now what would be cool in all of this is if Ash/Kaidan and Kai Leng offered different paths to reach the outcome of the mission, siding with the VS for the majority of the DLC would carry over into ME3 with the Alliance assisting Shepard, while using Kai Leng's Cerberus resources would give you Cerberus' backing in the third game

Oh, I hope Kai Leng isn't involved.

Basically, as soon as he turned his back, I'd be putting a bullet in the back of his head.
Or if I was feeling particularly Renegade, beating him to death with my bare hands.

Call it payback for killing Liselle.
And if I ever get the the opportunity, I'll make sure Aria T'Loak knows who really killed her daughter.

I think the books should support the game not vice versa... not everybody who downloads DLC can get hold of the books.... plus its a terrible marketing stratagy... theres next to no movies that have been produced depending on knowledge of whats happened in a book. A casual refrence sure.. but plot specific halves your audience... you have to make assumptions not every gamer wants to read the books....

So is there any actual word on a Kaidan or Ashley DLC, or is this just a matter of people speculating and begging Bioware?

Speculating and begging.  Pretty much all we can do except march to BioWare's office and rally for DLC.
And in case they haven't started developing it yet, we're giving them ideas.  This is what that thread is about.

If there was any word on Kaidan and Ashley DLC, this thread wouldn't be here.  Or it would be happily shut down by Chris or a mod and I would be drooling and thanking BioWare in another thread--likely created by Chris Priestly--announcing this much-anticipated DLC.

Oh, and since we were relocated, people can post all the spoilers they want now.
But I still encourage off-topic discussions or more in-depth discussions by joining the Kaidan and Ashley DLC Support Group.  Link's in my sig banner.

Have we talked about how we'd like the Virmire survivor DLC to start?

Would you like the Council to make Ash/Kaidan into Spectres or would you like them to rescue Shepard from some dire situation for a change? Or do you have some other idea?

Personally, I would like for Shepard to be on some mission and have the Virmire survivor burst in to either help or even save Shepard. After all, the whole game is made up of Shepard saving or aiding the squadmates. It might be nice for it to be the other way around for a change.

^ This, a thousand times this.
I've rambled about this before, but I don't mind being annoying and repeating myself. it's part of my religion.

I for one would like to see Shep being rescued from a certain death situation by the VS, who at the time is doing high-level work for the Alliance. With the subsequent missions leading to the VS being inducted as a Spectre because of these missions.

To clarify - are we talking about the person who wasn't nuked, or the person being nuked but surviving?

The person being nuked is now part of Virmires ecosystem as they were vaporized.

I am all for something like this. It would also be awesome to visit an Earth city or location, or at least a human metropolis, and the VS DLC would be a perfect time to bring us there.

Or later in ME3. But it would be nice to have this DLC, considering what was done with Liara's DLC.

Theres alot of people wanting to visit Illos/Feros/Noveria/ the nuked Virmire. To be honest if a VS DLC is made, and ide put money on them making one, wouldnt you really want to go somewhere new?. I could see this dlc concetrated on reparing relations with the Alliance. Going to Acturus would be ideal, possibly as the conclusion of the dlc. I have alot of ideas, but im kinda tired so ill share tomorrow, but I they have the potentila to make an incredible bridging dlc, possibly the last...that makes me sad.. anyway I really want to meet Hackett.  A display of his awesomeness came back full force for the Shadow broker dlc, see his dossier. Long request from an aliance officer for shepards arrest, hackett replied as followed " request denied, Hackett out". he didnt even have to speak it and it was epic haha

I hate when people say this.
Shepard has no way of knowing that he did that so you can't just kill him until Shepard actually finds out.

I can't believe people are so sympathetic to Aria and her daughter. Neither of them were nice people.

Pretty much. It's more about who her mother is though, with Liselle being of her more trusted henchman. Aria's no better than Lord Darius.

Which one?

Aria is a crime lord/dictator of a space station who kills people with car bombs, among other things.

Wouldn't mind seeing something crop up with them in some future dlc if you had the romantic conflict in 1 and picked liara....

What I'd really love would be for them to track ALL your romance data into 3....would be impressive. (ex: conflict with ashley, romanced liara, romanced jack but she dies, romanced tali but broke up, romanced miranda, romanced liara again, quite an active love life even if you don't factor in the consort, kelly, and morinth...would be nice for THAT type of shepard to get a different ME3 romance subplot than one that just romanced kaiden, then jacob....)

People are just saying that there doesn't need to be a new location, but rather a planet that holds some meaning for Shepard as well as Kaidan or Ashley. That said, visiting Earth sounds awesome but it seems more likely to be in ME3.
I'm a bit unsure about the Arcturus station.

Dialogue options: Shepard needs a [Blame Liara] Renegade response that draws attention to the fact that Liara's known you're alive (or possibly so) for the past two years but never told anyone, even your closest friends.

I'm not knocking on Liara, but I think Shepard ought to have the option of bringing this up.

I'm sure there will be, maybe a renegade and paragon response to it. Ash/Kaidan is going to likely have tons of questions for Shepard, and one of them must have a question on the Afterlife also (probably Ash with that one) Why did no one ask Shepard about a afterlife?! Thane and Samara are religious, and i'm sure the none religious characters would be curious on the subject.

I agree. It should definitely come up.  After all Kaidan, Ashley and Liara were on the same crew once.
