I'd want them to have entirely different dialogue and animations.

The whole Horizon encounter with Kaiden just felt like Kaiden reading Ash's lines.

Animations too.  Kaidan's a biotic and he's using a gun against the Collector swarm on Horizon. :S  You'd think he'd use a barrier.

You know what would be cool?  To have an apartment.  Somebody mentioned in the support group that Shep had an apartment in the Pinnacle Station DLC.

But what if we got intel about Ash or Kaid from Liara and as we're about to leave, and she adds, "by the way, my apartment on Illium is unoccupied, but I'm still paying rent.  Would you like to have it?"  That would be sweet.  We could invite Kaid or Ash over for dinner there.  :)

I'd rather have the Kaiden/Ash story continued in ME3 and not have to pay for it as DLC. But, if it were on the Cerberus Network, I'd definitely play it.

Well, they continued the Liara plot with DLC.

Liara also had a comic book series and saved Shep's body.  She had more of a story lined up.

Also, I wish hers was on the Cerberus Network as well.  Its a great DLC, but it is really integral to the story... it seems odd to have to pay for something that probably should have been part of ME2.   But then again, to get most of that story you would have had to pay for the comic books.  *sigh*

EDIT:  That being said, I am NOT against DLC.  (See my DLC poll, in my signature.)  I just wish that the bridging the gap DLCs were part of the Cerberus Network because of their value to the story.  However, I awknowledge that they are expensive to make... so basically, I'm being contradictory.  I just hope that everything is explained in ME3 for the players that don't have the dough to shell out for all of the awesome DLC Bioware is making.  But I'll probably buy this one anyway if it is 560 MS points or less.

And maybe also more different animations for MShep and FemShep? LotSB was a start.

Oh, I like the apartment idea! A place where they could talk alone and without Cerberus possibly listening in.

Yeah, there is somthing wrong with how femshep walks like a man, Bioware did good with LotSB.

The apartment idea is intreguing, more room for Shepard to store his/her trophys and model ships also. I would also like to vist Ashleys/Kaidan apartment, and with there different personalities there apartments wont look identical and will have uniqe characteristics for that characters personailty.

I suggest special power for Kaidan is some special version of Tech Armor while for Ashley is Carnage.

It would certainly help to see them as two very different characters again. Posted Image

Indeed, it wouldn't make sense if they had the same place, Kaidan dosent like lots of noise, he likes soothing things like fountains, and he dosent like too many lights and people, he would suit a nice place in the coutryside, Ash lis like a party girl, she likes clubbing, and she likes being around lost of people where there is alot to do, and ofcourse there will be plenty of stuff on the military in Ashleys apartment.

Each characters apartment would be great to see, as just the little details would show there different personalities pretty well, and it would also give us more replay value, just to see the difference in Ash and Kaidan.

That's very well thought out, Funkcase! And maybe poetry books for Ash or, you know, that tape collection of the Tennyson poem she made for her father.  Posted Image

What I'd also love to see and what made LotSB very good, were the references to ME1 i.e. the omnigel banter between Shepard and Liara. Kaidan and Ashley could make a comment on thermal clips and weapon overheating or something similiar.

All QFT.

I really liked seeing Liara's apartment in LotSB.  It really makes the characters feel real.  Would like to see that for Kaid/Ash.

Thank you Posted Image Yeah there has to be something on poetry,(I love the idea of a tape collection! listening to it would be cool, and probably pretty moving) maybe something on her family too, so we get to know them better. i realy like the sound of her family (they sound a little like my own) and I would like to get to know them.

Yes that would be great, there has to be some ME1 references, and little digs at ME2, like maybe Kaidan making a comment on how rare human biotics used to be, and that they seem to be everywhere now, or how they suffer from no ill effects these days, and not long ago most suffered from brain tumors.

Or Ash comments that some soldiers are turning soft and couldn't take a little burn when they fired there rifle, and how it served them right for not timing there shots properly.

It'd be quite an emotional moment to listen to her tape collection - the more I think about it, the more I like it.

And maybe Kaidan could have something that he spent hours of tinkering, tweaks and upgrades on since he seemed like the kind of guy who'd be into something like that. Posted Image

I loved hearing Ash talk about her family. You could tell they are close. I wish Bioware could do the same with Kaidan - at least some hints would be nice as we know next to nothing about his family and friends.

On Noveria he says ''Mum was right, I should have brought a sweater" so we know that she is pretty caring, but thats all we hear about his family sadly.

I just had a chilling thought.

Let's suppose this DLC were to include a trip to Virmire, to recover the dog tags of the VC (Virmire Casualty) or some other reason. Only you get there, and can find no remains, no trace of a body.

Well, you think, it was a pretty big nuke, not likely we'll find anything. Cue flashbacks, reminiscing etc. with the VS.

Then in ME3, who should show up at the head of the Reaper fleet, implanted, indoctrinated, heavily burned/repaired and blazing for revenge...

Not only would this include the "bridge between ME2 and ME3" angle that Bioware has been wanting, it'll give us an actual faced villain to care about in ME3.

That's a cute idea, but there's no reasonable way that they can explain a situation where both the nuke went off, and the character survived. Either they were ground-zero when it went off, defending it, in which case they're atoms, or they were overwhelmed, in which case the nuke would have been disarmed. In the latter case this scenario would be plausble, but that's not what happened.

So, I like it, but unless there's something I'm missing, there's no way it's possible without "nuked the fridge"-type idiocy, which I don't think Bioware will go for. If they were going to do this, I think they'd have foreshadowed it, too.

There isn't much foreshadowing needed: you never saw a body, and everyone and their mother is blatantly assuming the VC is dead.

I know "surviving the nuke" is farfetched, but I don't see any other way for them to introduce a villain we'll care about. Harbinger failed miserably in this regard, and so will any new face they bring in.

Earth is apparently a sh**hole. Like Tuchanka crashed into Rakhana with some Ilium skyscrapers towering over it all. I'm not sure I'd want to see it.

Yeah, that and some small comment about how his father was eventually proud of him for enlisting. And something about a cousin if I remember correctly. But that's about it and compared to Ash's vivid description of her family, it's really not much. Maybe Bioware could give us a bit more information - either in a DLC or possibly in ME3. Posted Image

Three reasons I can see:

1). Bringing back the squadmate that was killed on Virmire would cheapen their sacrifice. That decision was the most heart-wrenching one in teh entirety of ME1, and to belittle it like that doesn't really seem like something a good gaming company would do.
2). Anyone caught at ground zero of a nuclear explosion would be vaporized, end of story. Even if they decided to introduce cloning, how would they explain being able to isolate their exact ashen DNA out of all the other debris there? Which leads me to another point:
3). Cloning is (in my opinion) an asspull; something that is done when you can't think of anything reasonable to do that would allow a dead, dead, dead character to return.

As for introducing a villain we'll care about, what about The Illusive Man? Ambassador Udina? Admiral Hackett? A wholly new character that we can really loathe? Sorry, I'm not buying the idea of forcing the Virmire squadmate back into the story just to get a 'villain we care about'.

Hackett is little more than a congratulatory e-mail address. Udina is an annoyance at best. TIM is far too obvious a threat, and he opposes the Reapers too - after all, humanity is at the top of their hit list. (Not saying he won't be a "faced villain," but will he be the only one?)

Bringing the VC back as though nothing happened would be cheap, I agree. Bringing them back as a face-heel turn is different. I'm not getting into specifics of how the VC could survive or be revived anyway. It's just a suggestion. I'm sure if BW wanted to they could find a plausible way; after all, they got us all on board with Lazarus.

I don't think the fans would go for another "dead back to life," type of scenario. But, that's IMO. And I do disagree with Hackett being "little more than a congratulatory email address." He's important enough to have been heard in the first ME1 scene, to have continued asking Shep for help, to have been at the head of the 5th fleet during Sovereign's attack, and to have a dossier.
I hope they keep Kaidan's Horizon armor for him in any DLC, or ME3 for that matter.
It looks nice on him.
EDIT: somebody mentioned in another thread (maybe this one?  lots of pages XP) that it's possible Kaid or Ash could be Corsairs, not necessarily Spectres.  I think that's a possibility for DLC, and it would be really awesome and fit the storyline!  Except if they have to chase after Shep for interrogation.  :(

Yes, it would be interesting to see Ashley's (or Kaiden's) apartment.

You can wander around and have Ash comment on her stuff.

I'm now wondering if they'll put a foil skirt in the closet, just for fun.

Crazy idea, inspecting the skirt unlocks it as an outfit for FemShep and Ash......

I don't know if its been suggested yet, but how about Kaidan and Ash having something to give to Shep, the same way I understand Liara gave you your ID tags?

Hopefully, it would be a different thing considering they are quite distinct from each other... And not just another Shep memento either, we already have the helmet and the id tags...

Something personal and valuable. Perhaps even romance only? They already did the rose thing with Alistair in DAO, so perhaps not that...

I could see Ash giving a book of poetry, or maybe a recording of her reading her favorites. I can't think of what Kaidan might give. Maybe one of his adventure novels? Not quite the same. An exotic strain of fish perhaps? ;)
