Whoever died should stay dead.
It was a hard decision to make and it would be inappropriate to invalidate that with a retcon.

Yes, it would be interesting to see Ashley acquire some kind of hand-to-hand combat.

My favorite thing about Grunt was, if I knew there was a Husk swarm coming, I'd position him specifically in their path and he'd knock them over either with a gun whipping or a "I AM KROGAN" powertrain rush.

Here's a screenshot of all Shepherd's stuff.
I guess the LI photo is next to the tail of the Shadow Broker ship model and if you look hard below the ship next to the Quarian vessel, you can see the mystery empty frame as well.

I'm hoping for a kiss for the romances.
And a hug for the friends, like Liara got from my Sheps.
Venezio Shep misses Kaidan as his biotic buddy. :(  But at least he has Liara for now.  :)

Agreed with all of this. Posted Image

Just had an awesome idea. What if at one point in the Ash/Kaiden DLC or in ME3 they have a kiss similar to the victory in the pacific kiss at the end of ww2.

I thought of that before, too, so...

Yes.   XD

Eh. Too feminine of Shepard's count, if Kaidan is the love interest.

Unless of course, it's Kaidan in the nurse's outfit. :wizard: (Yes, I know the intention isn't that they wear those outfits.)

i second that :wizard:

(just kidding)

but ending on a kiss (rather than a implied sex scene like romanced liara) would actually fit better imo, given how much distance there is between the two because of horizon

If I can't have implied sex in the DLC can I at least get some early in ME3? I don't want to wait til the night before the Reaper Showdown. I've waited too long as it is! I have needs! lol

I'm willing to bet there's going to be implied sex between Shep and romanced VS, if the DLC actually gets made.

Any fans of Farscape here? I know I've seen at least a few...

Anyhow, the main couple in Farscape was the Earth astronaut John Crichton and the humanlike alien commando Aeryn Sun (played by Claudia Black, who's become the VA of choice for Bioware lately). Their mutual (unwanted on Aeryn's side) attraction culminated on a scene where they were stranded on a damaged shuttle, the air was running out, and they really had no hope of rescue. There had been the chance for one of them to survive a bit longer in hopes of rescue (I won't go into details), but the usually cold and harsh Aeryn chose to wake John up, even though this would cause the air to be used up more rapidly, and even though it had been John's choice to be rendered functionally dead.

Long story short, certain they were going to die, the scene heated up rapidly after that. Naturally, their crew mates arrived to rescue at that moment, to find the usually cool and superior PK commando and the bumbling Earthling astronaut tearing each others clothes off. D'argo's look of incredulity changing into a knowing grin was priceless...

Check it out below:

Something similar could work for Shepard and the VS. Have them be coldly polite towards each other at the start, though clearly struggling with repressed emotion, with a slow but distinct thaw throughout the mission, followed by a scene where death looks certain. Allow Shepard the chance to break first, but if you want to be the stoic, the VS will then break the ice and declare that his/her feelings are still intact. This would serve both Stoic!Shepards and those of us who want Shep to have emotions beneath the iron shell... Then, hugging. Kissing. Realization that death will follow in 30 minutes. Frenzied tearing off armor and clothing... Fade out.

The rescuers arrive against all hope, but mercifully only after Shep and the VS have... finished. They find our love birds together, tho hopefully clothed or at least covered in some fashion... This would be a good time for that one line of recycled dialogue from every squaddie... I just hope everyone has an embarrassed, amused, relieved, or even gleeful reaction soundbite... Posted Image

Ditto, and I feel like they've almost put us through a Farscapesque torture with the ME 1 love interests anyhow.

Just showing some support, joined the group too. Kaidan and Ashley are not my favorite characters but I do think they need some attention and love via DLC. The OP's post sounds fantastic, exactly what I would have in mind.

Funkcase's vid made me think (and I wouldn't be at surprised if it's been mentioned already, I just don't want to read 50+ pages of posts to find out) about how it would be neat to accompany Ash/Kaidan on a mission for the Alliance against the Batarians. A kind of follow-up to the Bring Down the Sky DLC; you could explore the Alliance some more, the Batarian Hegemony and their race in general, and of course develop the two Alliance squadmates in the midst of it.

The "gap-bridge" dlc will be (in my humblest of opinions) an Alliance/Cerberus storyline with Kaidan/Ash as a sub-plot.
I am still of the the mind, that it has been planned all along (much like LotSB) and we will see it some day.

I don't care what it centers on as long as Kaidan is in it and he and my femShep reunite in a good way.  Huge fan of both Kaidan and Ashley.  I would have rather let Tali die on Virmire.  Sorry Tali fans, I am not a Tali fan.  I put her in the vent the first play through of 2 and will put her in the vent of this play though also.

I hate to leave Ashley behind on Virmire but I love Bioware for forcing me to make that choice between Ash and Kaidan from a narrative point of view. It's a highly emotional moment for me in the game and what I felt to be the second most important choice in the game (saving or letting the Council die being the first). I dread to go to Virmire every time I play ME1 because I know I will lose one of my two favourite characters.
Having the opportunity to leave "a less liked character" would have taken away what I think Bioware wanted to archive: a feeling of actual loss and a chance for Shepard and the VS to develop further as characters.

That being said, the Horizon cameo takes away a lot from that moment in ME1 and negates its importance in my opinion - a two minute appearance with interchangeable lines, out of character behaviour for Ash/Kaidan and Shepard as well as sloppy animations are not how I expected this important choice to carry over to its sequel.

A DLC featuring Ash and Kaidan could give some of the importance back to the decision we've had to make.

I hope this project is in the works, and i trust Bioware to do it right. But I don't want my shep making apologies for his actions, to try and mend the relationship, hell, after the exchange on Horizon he has every right to be pissed himself. Whatever reconciliation comes, I hope it doesn't come too simply, and requires work from both sides.

--Also if this DLC does come, then somebody be ready to make a sig bar for a Wrex DLC pack, I love that guy.

This is why different approaches for different Shepards would be a great addition to a possible DLC - maybe even necessary. Because I want my Shepard to be able to do exactly that.

And I agree with your second point, Keyatzin: the chance to reconcile should be worked for. As many previous posters suggested, this DLC should only be a foundation, something to work with for Shepard, Kaidan and Ash in ME3.

Yes and a thousand times yes.

That is one of the things that bugged me most about ME2 and all the DLCs so far (Kasumi, anyone?), little to no ackowledgement that Shepard is in a relationship with Kaidan or Ash. I really want that to be rectified as soon as possible.

I agree with both you guys.

I don't think Ashley and Kaidan have anything to apologize for on Horizon, but I understand if others disagree.
But I would like the option to have Shepard apologize, or maybe a Paragon interrupt of sorts.  That way, people can RP their Sheps how they want; some can have the opportunity to apologize, others can just explain why they're working with Cerberus, with no apologies.

As much as I love LotSB, and would love to see some of the qualities from that DLC be transferred to DLC featuring Kaid and Ash, I don't want the implied love scene like with Liara.  Although Liara was lamenting over the fact that Shepard was dead for two years, having that scene fit because
a) Liara knew Cerberus' intentions to bring Shepard back to life; yes, s/he was dead, but it wasn't a shock that Shep was alive when she discovered it.
B) Both Ash and Kaid still have to get used to the fact that Shepard is not a traitor, that s/he didn't abandon them to work for Cerberus, and/or wasn't a double-agent to spy on the Alliance.
c) Horizon was a horrible meet-up for Ash/Kaid and Shep.  They have to work past that encounter.
d) I want Kaid and Ash to have a large role in ME3, and BioWare needs to save most of the relationship development for then.

IMO.

I agree with you completely, Brody.

A love scene would be much too early considering how far apart Kaidan and Shepard are at this time. What made this very clear was Kaidan's "I guess I really don't know who either of us is anymore." in his message after Horizon.
Shepard and Kaidan have to rediscover who they are and who they want to be, but it is obvious they still mean much to each other. In a DLC, a simply kiss without anything fancy would mean so much more now than a love scene just for the sake of a love scene.

This is of course just my opinion.

Definitely unique dialogue and a unique mission. Maybe they could tie it into the novels, such as helping Kahlee Sanders put together the Turian group with Captain Anderson so they could lead the team to storm on Grissom Academy? Obviously, the team couldn't go onto the ship to Grissom Academy, but they could face adversity by Udina, say - if he tried to keep the team grounded. They could then have the team have a debrief/ catch up with the Virmire Survivor, and a possible love scene. They could then do some kind of investigation into Paul Grayson - go to Omega and explain what happened to Licelle to Aria, who might help the team storm a Cerberus site. Altogether, that ties into the novels, keeps up with the themes of adversity over authority, has the team working together with old friends and continues the story against Cerberus and it's evil.

i want something that sort of addresses why didn't Liara tell or get help from Ashley/Kaiden in recovering Shepard's body or at least let them know what was going on. They were not antagonistic in ME1, and were squadmates. It could have avoided the whole mess on Horizon and with the Council not trusting you.

Obviously this is just me pointing out a rather obvious plot hole, but it is a valid question i think.
