Slightly off of the Hackett topic, but I am now anticipating the PS3 release. Although I will not be buying it (I have no PS3, and already have ME2), I am curious to see how the Kaidan/Ashley Horizon issue is addressed. I was reading an article today that reinforced what we already know: there will be DLC content added to the ME2 PS3 release. And a lot of PS3 players, if they haven't played ME1 or ME2 on another console, will have no idea as to who Kaidan and Ashley are.
Back to Hackett, saw this and laughed:

Hackett: "Shepard. Glad you're back. I need you once again for a mission that is completely not your responsibility or jurisdiction."
VS: "Wait, he's still doing that?"
That would be a nice nod toward the ME1 storyline.

Especially the one who was beating the guy who attacked her.
I'd always expect Admiral Hackett to defend Shepherd no matter what.
Anyone who questions Shepherd's loyalty is sent to clean the toilets with a toothbrush and no rubber gloves.
And yes, I'd like to finally meet Hackett in person,
Isn't the end of 2011 rather optimistic for the release of ME3?
I was expecting around 2 years minimum to get this game ready. Which would be January or Febuary 2012 by my calculations.

These are great suggestions, but you do realize that you are posting in a thread dedicated to the discussion of a DLC for two specific characters. So it naturally follows that it would be full of suggestions for interactions with said characters. Don't get me wrong, we don't just want a dating sim, there have been a lot of suggestions for adventures and exploration. Granted, this undoubtedly the most detailed one I've seen, but most of the ideas do revolve around some sort of escapade.
I know where I'm posting. I've just seen too many post with "I can haz cuddles?" So unless K/A are involved with a story that furthers the plot of the trilogy, there's no point in making DLC with them other than fan service. From the tone of most people, you'd think that the next content released is FOR SURE going to be centralized around the VS. Imagine the disappointment if it's not.
Actually most of us want it to further the story, and it can as it would fill a major part of the plot that is missing, the Alliance!
The VS, Hacket and Anderson are Shepard's last tie's to the Alliance, we know the Alliance has been up to something, and so has the VS as they were on Horizon becuase of the rumors of Cerberus and Shepard. The VS file is so classified that even TIM couldn't gain access to it, and the VS seems to be taking missions directly from Anderson, and they are doing these missions alone (I assume, if not atleast Horizion) There is plenty of potential for a great story in the dlc, and i'm sure Bioware can do it.
You can understand why some people are just saying they want hugs though, we miss Ash and Kaidan, it's natural that's all some people would want, but as you can see by the OP, there are alot of us who want answers, and it to come with one heck of a story.

Based on what we learn in the dossiers in LotSB, I've been wondering if the conflicting ideas within the Alliance about what to with Shepard will blow up into a major conflict. I could imagine there being an admiral other than Hackett who wants Shep taken in for questioning/imprisonment and then... I don't know what. Just random thoughts, really.

If they're going to go with the "Shepard gets arrested" for the reset of the third plot, the Kaidan/Ashley DLC could be the final installment of the bridging DLC and Shepard could get arrested at the very end. And Kaidan/Ashley could be very surprised, but unable to help due to not wanting to end up in the same spot. Could be very dramatic.
Also, from where I'm sitting, the ME2 story has jumped the Mass Effect SpaceShark. The characters I like are all I'm playing for now, so damn straight I want my damn cuddles. <_<

And wouldn't we all be disappointed if a prison break-out followed by a space-rat fight sequence is NOT the start of ME3?

Wouldn't they have to strip Shep's spectre status to arrest them?

The council seems pretty annoyed by Shepard, wouldn't be too hard to imagine that they would cooperate with the Alliance to arrest Shepard. They could easily come up with an excuse to strip him of his spectre status.

Imagine this Shepard gets a message from Admiral Hackett (not TIM) for him to come back to EARTH (Yeah I said it) anyway you go back to earth for some sort of memorial thing where you and Ashley/Kaiden whoever is alive is awarded with some noble medal by the president of earth (WHOEVER THAT MAY BE) the person who died on Virmire is being honoured as well before boom!
Some crazy ass Batarians/terrorists attack the living hell out of the ceremony leading you on to run through a few areas of play through shooting down a gunship and lots of pawns on the ground (this is on earth) before introducing another new type of boss battle coz let’s face it, battling Vasir on insanity was the hardest battle of the game so far, anyway to make this boss nutty I would make him like those flying laser eye things we fought in the cargo hold of the SR2 on the way to the CB. He would be some fat Batarian (sorta like a jubba the hutt character who can’t move coz he’s just so fat.) anyway give him three different types of weapons that are equipped to the little flying saucer he is in. A rocket launcher (long range) Lazer beam (medium to long range) and a shotgun (close range) and he would have shield boosts like the shadow broker had.
He would look something like this dude who I have a huge distaste for since I didnt get to own him for being such a butthugger.

I'm not very good at working the romance into these sorts of things so yeaaaaaa. *Hovers away in his epic hoverboard creation*

But for an alien species to attack a homeworld it would have to be like a full on war. "War" is probably an understatement. The batarians would be insane to do that, more likely a colony etc. Then maybe we could go to Earth to get info

There is also the option in ME2 to not get your Spectre status reinstated, Ryzaki.
Somehow, I'm pessimistic about that having much effect one way or the other.
In fact, don't you need the original Council alive for them to reinstate you?

No, you don't need them, Mox. I always let the Council die. Anderson will reinstate you.
Oh, interesting... Been too long since I've played a game where I sacrificed the Council, it seems.
Still, I can't imagine our Spectre status having that much effect in ME3, if any. There will probably be some new org we'll be working for.

Surely that cant be right.. i know we were gone for two years but i wouldn't say that Kaidan or Ash were quite up to that standard...Out of all other humanity...

Agreed.
I would prefer Kaidan and Ashley not being a Spectre based on the pattern.
