Because they've confirmed that there's stuff in development, and they've confirmed that there's more than one DLC.  BW can say, "oh yes, we have lots of stuff planned!"  but if there's unforseen troubles, then the plans might never come to fruition.

Before, we knew BioWare said they were making stuff, but we didn't know anything.

Now the two head people on the BioWare hierarchy--the founders have confirmed something.  We are one step closer than we were yesterday to seeing Kaid and Ash DLC.

I romanced Kaiden because Garrus was not available I have to long term feelings with him so that being said I want the option to punch him for calling me a traitor and the issue of said name calling needs to be well addressed not a simple, " I'm sorry I called you that I was so upset when I heard you where back and working for Cerberus," no him I want to punch

No. Just as Shepard was given no option to punch out Liara when she was being stubborn back in Illium, I don't want an option for Shepard to be an abusive arse to Kaidan, reasons notwithstanding. Shepard is a grown man/woman and should theoretically be mature enough to deal with arguments with former colleagues in a mature manner. No abusive behavior, no killing. Period.

Thank you for writing that! Thank you.

Punching is not "addressing a matter" and it's far more simple and immature than being able to say to someone "I'm sorry". I'd hate to see Shepard or any of the LIs to act in such a manner. Mass Effect shouldn't ever turn into a highschool drama - not in a DLC and not in the main game.

Prolly the DLC I look forward to the most! Posted Image
After the awesome of LotSB, it only makes sense that this would be the next in line.

Plus, I want me some Kaidan.:P

Some people like to believe otherwise unless Bioware explicitly says "yes, we're making more DLC!" saying that LoTSB marks the beginning of bridging content just doesn't do it for them I suppose.

It also gives us more of a time-frame. That something is actively in the works means we might actually see more content this side of Christmas. *Fingers crossed*

I hope you're right, sir-edmund.

What I'd love to see, though, is Bioware making some kind of official announcement  stating if this 6 hour mission is exlusive for the PS3 and what it'll be about (hopefully it'll feature Ash and Kaidan).
I think it's unlikely to be a shortened version of ME1 because they already got that covered with the interactive comic book.

I know that I come on line every day just to see if some kind of announcement has been made. And everyday I'm disappointed. I guess for me knowing one way or the other if this DLC is going to made would go a long way. I guess for me I'm just tired of my favorite characters getting the shaft.

There's a difference between, "will," versus, "are."  One indicates a process that has yet to happen, the other indicates present tense, as in the process is happening now.

And how do we know BioWare would produce more DLC?  They could be spending all their finances on the PS3 release of ME2, developing the clothes and the Illusive Man comic series, as well as the action figurines and lithographs.

Those take money to produce.  What if they aren't as successful as BioWare hoped?

It's easier to cancel projects that haven't been started yet, which could have been the DLC we're all waiting for.

I'd say that "optimism" is not only over whether or not bridging content will be produced and released, it's also over whether or not that bridging content will have any relevance to the storyline of the Virmire survivor. We could get some bridging content with Wrex-- a story that would free him somehow from duties on Tuchanka so that he could become a squadmate again. We could get bridging content that shows us more about Cerberus activities and goals. It might not be Alliance related at all.

I think it's a fairly safe bet to say there'll be DLC for Wrex and the other two. Bioware has said before, they plan on releasing a steady flow of DLC that links ME2 with ME3. Obviously, a Krogan civil war is an easy guess at what Wrex's mission will be. Maybe help Ashley or Kaiden will result in a mission for the Alliance with rebels or some such thing.

Maybe one great big DLC that involves them. Maybe there is a Krogan uprising that the Alliance is going to take strong action against, and they send Kaiden or Ashley to reason with the strongest Krogan Clan, because they either know Wrex if he survived or because thet have worked with a Korgan before, and Anderson calls you in to help them settle the issue, which leads to a revelation about the Reapers that you all have to look into.

Maybe even have the Rachni Queen be a part of it. Have it maybe be about the Reapers are trying to indoctrinate The Krogan like they did the Rachni. Wrex or Wreav can say he's noticed an odd way of acting from the other clans. So you have to find out how they're being indoctrinated, and stop it, securing your alliance with The Krogan for ME3, and possibly firing up the Romance with Ashley or Kaiden.

Either way, I'm happy to be able to continously have a reason to keep playing this game, as if restarting as every class wasn't already good enough. Posted Image

I'm hoping that this 6 hour mission for PS3 users isn't exclusive and that Xbox and PC players have the chance to get at it, whether it features Ashley or Kaidan or not. (And if it does, hell yes!)

I personally don't care if I have to pay for it, I just hate exclusivity.

You know what I'd honestly like to see? The option to bring Kaidan/Ashley and Liara along on the other bridging, allegedly post-suicide mission DLC.

I know it'd never happen, but... if they were "saved" from the suicide mission, unless they were planning on killing people off in the other DLC... think about it. (I know you won't, but...)

I think a primary environment in VS DLC should be Eden Prime during its winter season.

Hey Folks,

For those that don't know, I am the Producer responsible for Mass Effect 2 PS3.  Some of you may have read over on the German forums some of the details on Mass Effect 2 PS3's contents.  I'd like to provide some clarity as I believe that there was some translation errors in the interview that Casey gave.

/snip

I want also to touch on the '6 hour exclusive mission'.  This I believe is a communication error lost in translation.  When we talk about 6 hours of content we are talking about what's included exclusively "On Disc" (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access.

*sighs*

At least we aren't going to have to deal with the possibility that Ash and Kaidan might figure into a mission that PC/360 users might never see.

True, true.

Thank you Zeuss.

Hope you don't mind if I use this Chig.  I guess we, like our Shepards, have to wait a bit longer for Kaidan and Ashley.

Greg Zeschuk: We have a pretty long DLC plan for Mass. We're still doing lots of stuff there.

I guess only time will tell.

I think Jesse is my new favourite BioWare dev.

He said this in the PS3 Exclusive Content thread:

There seems to be a great deal of concern about BioWare ignoring our fans or trying to create a divide in our fans. Why would we do that? The entire purpose of building the PS3 version has not been to alienate our existing fans but instead to give new opportunity to those who have not yet been able to enjoy the games that we pour our hearts and souls into creating! In fact, one of my mandates since starting this project has been to ensure that nothing we do creates a divide between the three groups of fans. So trust me when I tell you that nothing I do intentionally on ME2 PS3 will deny a PC or Xbox360 fan from an experience they would have like to have had.

-Jess

Edit: For those that don'y know as a publicly traded company we have very strict rules on how we communicate publicly. That is why we're sometimes shackled on what we can and can't say at a certain time or place. It's not 'cause I don't want to tell you every little detail about one of the best projects I've ever worked on!

Ah, yes. Gotta love Communication. I am hopeful things will work out so what has to be done is take the "wait and see" approach. Oh, and I don't know if this got lost in the downpour in this forum but one way for Bioware to simulate the passage of time in the ME2 universe is to make some of the DLC accessible only to those who have completed the Suicide Mission, that way they could have something like a fade sequence where Bioware can have a prologue that says something to the effect of "It has been a year since Shepard and his team defeated the the Collectors and destroyed/taken their base". Just a idea I though that needed attention. Oh, and the Kaidan and Ashley DLC Support Group is now at 496 members! Not that far away from 500! Keep it up! B)

While I would like the next big DLC to be something different (but I'm sure I'm the only person that wants what I want, so I wont bother), I support this, if only to get closure.
