Sorry for the long post but I made a new thread not realising this one was here :P I will just put it in here again :)

I have an idea for storyline involving Kaiden for ME3 I hope ppl will take the time to read it and reply
I'll do a quick recap of my own gameplay:

- Had a relation with Kaidan and saved him later on in the game sacrificing Ashley. ME1
- Came across Kaidan in ME2, really disappointed he didn't trust me....but was hoping that he'd come back anyways (which didn't happen :'( )

- Now for ME 3 what I would like to see is;

In ME 2 Kaidan tells you that he is now trying to see another woman (no names are called) and he can't be with you because of blablabla...Through my gameplay of ME2 as said before I stayed single because I was hoping for Kaidan to change his mind and come back (romance addict :P). Maybe the developers could add an option in ME3 (depending ofc. how you played ME1 and 2) for Kaidan to come back through an optional questline.

This quest could look different ofcourse but I was thinking somewhere along the line of this: You get a distress call from a ship...and the distress call is coming from Rahna (remember the girl from one of the early conversations with Kaidan in ME1?)

You know how much it would mean for Kaidan to be there for this rescue operation so you either:
- Do the rescue with your own squad and leave Kaidan be because you're upset with him or simply do not want to bother with him after his rudeness in ME2. (ofcourse this means he doesn't come back into your)
- You go into another subquest of tracking down Kaidan and after you track him down he gets onto your ship as a guest player. (Kinda like the mercenary from ME2) and you take him along on the mission to save Rahna.

The outcome of the mission could be then
- The mission fails Kaidan gets really upset and leaves. (purposely failed or not think along the lines of hostage situation gone bad because you didn't pay attention or you kill her as your own sick revenge on Kaidan
- The mission is a succes Kaidan leaves for a while goes back the the place you picked him up because he needs some serious time to think. And during a later visit to that planet he tells you he really can't see how he ever thought you where with the badguys in ME2 because you went through all the trouble finding him to save a girl who you knew ment a lot to him. He joins your team again and you can get back together!

(as sub to this the developers could also make it so that if Kaidan joins again but you go romance another player he decided to leave because after the rescue of Rahna she send him a mail stating she wants to see him again. See he ignores that mail if you continue your romance with him but he decided to follow it up if you treat him badly)

If that isn't one of the most romantic endings (well for Kaidan and Shep. !) Bioware please satisfy the needs of your romance hungry fans ;)

I love Mass Effect, I love Dragon Age, I love good storylines = I love Bioware!

------------------

As with most sidequests in ME there's not a real rush to do those missions. Therefor you can actually take some time to pick up Kaidan before you do it. If you do the mission and don't bother to pick him up beforehand he doesn't really care you get into a conversation when you visit whatever planet he is on he tells you he knows about the mission and he leaves it at that.

- If you killed Rahna when he's on the Mission with you he's upset and leaves.
- If Kaidan is on your team and decided to stay but you romance another player he will leave aswell.

- But if he's on the mission to save Rahna, she survives. He goes away from the ship for a while to say he needs some time to get his thoughts together and when you make another visit to the place you picked him up earlier he will tell you he made up his mind. He can't believe how stupid he was not believing you in ME2 and he joins the team. (and hence you have the chance to continue your romance...but as said before if he joins but you hurt his feelings by then romance another player he will still leave and go to Rahna

I hope you understand now what I'm trying to create here. Romance ftw !

Thanks for reading through

''I can't give details for obvious reasons. But I can tell you that I've not forgotten Ash and Kaiden at all. They are pivotal to the Mass Effect franchise... I wish I could tell you more!''
How nice is that? :-)
PS he uses smileys a lot too, lol ;-)

Oh, that sounds extremely encouraging! As LotSB's release was over two months ago, I wonder if an announcement of the Ashley and Kaidan DLC is imminent? I'm starting to get desperate...I want both characters back!

Thanks for sharing though, Chig. Appreciated!

"I wish I could tell you more" - it seems that I'm going to start creating conspiracy theories again :)

Btw why citing in "unable to perform"?

Hopefully Bioware will do something soon to back up the things they've said about the VS so far. /:

And thanks for the support, Les and Vralenalien.

I support this thread.

Really like the idea of being able to play with Ashley as squadmate, in ME2 DLC or ME3. Doesn't matter to me as long as it happens!

Offcorse it would be great to have extra dialogue and being able to continue LI.

I was really chuffed that Jesse replied, I didn't expect it, but he took the time to respond to my question and concern that Ash and Kaidan fans feel forgotten! I was going to post my message here too, but wasn't sure if I should, I can copy and paste it here or it can be read a couple of pages back on KAST! :-)

Think you would either be able to post it on here, or perhaps a link to it in the KAST?  That would be awesome.

Yeah, no worries! :) Give me a minute *rustles around in handbag*
Ah, here it is....

''Hi, I am not messaging you to have a moan, honest! ;-)

I appreciate the time and effort you put into replying and answering people's concerns with regard to the rumoured exclusive content for PS3 and I am sure that the majority of forum members feel the same! :-)

I own ME and ME2 on 360 I also own DA:O on 360 and on PS3, I have pre ordered the Signature Edition on 360 AND on PS3 so it is a fair bet I will buy ME2 on PS3 and will pre order collector's editions (if available) of ME3 on both formats.

The only question/issue that matters to me (and a fair few others) tbh is 'protecting', the ME love interest (namely Kaidan and Ashley) as we 'feel', like the forgotten fans atm........ While we appreciate that it has been stated that they were largely excluded to be sure they are alive, we have nothing to go on that comforts us that our (not so very) patience will be rewarded.

Is it possible that you can clarify (speak to the devs) that the interactive comic will give the ME love interest a place in the story, so that we may choose to romance who we prefer rather than taking, from our viewpoint, a second best option. We do not require spoilers, we merely wish to know that Ashley and Kaidan are important to BioWare as they are to us, as many of us were quite happy with human on human action and don't require passion from a big ol' cricket bug or giant talking lizard! (don't even get me started on Jacob........ ¬_¬) I do love, as characters, both Garrus and Thane, btw.

It isn't that I don't appreciate BioWare pushing the envelope, it is just that we were given this love interest in ME, told that our choices would carry through to 2 and 3 and have been given less information than any other set of fans we feel a bit left behind............. :-( *sentence deleted PM me if you wish to know what I said here*

If we had some sort of inkling that they would be part of the comic's choices it would give much comfort to many for relatively little effort on BioWare's part, heck at this point we would settle for ''This BioWare, Kaidan and Ashley fans, stop worrying, we care about you too, we won't let you down'' ;-)

Sorry for taking up your precious time with my rambling and I hope you have a good day! :-)''

:)

Thanks!

Also great post from Jesse.

I wonder what happens to my femShep / Ash Li, though. That will probably cause some trouble.

Shepard will need all the help he (in my case) can get to stop the reapers so i think this would really start the buildup to ME3 not to sure about romance part... i think i'll stick with tali for that one

Ashley/Kaidan should be brought back. A cerberus/alliance military concordance might be a little much. Perhaps just another run in with Ashley or Kaidan with possible join up. I kinda like the idea of cerberus gunning for them and you intervene(whether they live or die is up to you like in me1 choice). I believe they did not villainize the illusive man enough(him trying to kill your lover/ex would up the ante), and this could push the envelope concerning how me3 goes.

(Off topic rant) Another thing that they should devise is a way to have me space combat/atmospheric(planetary flight)/ perhaps a underwater mission with new submersible vehicle in the hangar.

Well, think about it. How many bridging DLC do you think is left? I say maybe two. The amount of DLC is bound to be dwindling by now, but everything they say points to a few more being released. ME2 was released feb -10, ME3 probably early 2012. That's 22-24 months apart. LotSB came out 7 months after ME2. I expect the next one around feb -11 (and then anotherone during summer/autumn -11). I just don't think they can pump out DLC in a steady stream all the way to ME3. So far I have gotten more than I bargained for.

And regarding the VS getting the short end of the stick. I got frustrated after Horizon, but the picture-holding scene before the SM calmed me down. BW is not trying to put us off the VS, whatever the player might think Shep is obviously still pining for Ash/Kai. The VS is actually the only LI who is getting real drama and romance (and for me that beats a booteycall in the engine room) in ME2. Of course, it's hard to not be able to work things out when we want to, but I honestly feel that the VS romance is the nicest one. I don't know if we'll get DLC, I suspect we will, but regardless I really think we will be quite happy when all is said and done.

Next milestone, 1000!

Thanks Ashii6 for the picture frame of Ashley.

See the post in the group for my Pinnacle station concept.

Personally, I'd love to go back there, if only to have Shepherd's home again.

Thane is reading sun lounger brochures right now and waiting for us to go home.

Hmmm, I'm now wondering if the Normandy SR2 could pick up the entire module and fly it away to somewhere else, to keep it's location secret.

I agree! It is the *real* long term romance. Like Ross and Rachel compared to Monica and Chandler or Phoebe and Mike. People tuned in to Friends for 10 years waiting for Ross and Rachel to 'be together'! All the rest was just the icing on the cake, decoration to the main love story (imo). Mass Effect 2's events will make the true reunion all the sweeter :)
