If haters absolutely hate the VS, and are unsatiated with killing either Kaidan or Ashley on Virmire, then maybe BioWare can give an option where a mission can go wrong and gamers can leave the VS to die. (That is actually a really interesting idea; sounds like Zaeed's mission.)

If they survive the mission, then the friendship/romance can develop.

Heck yeah.  If BioWare is looking for returns on investment this would be an interesting way to get several groups of fans to be enthusiastic to buy the DLC.

That would cut down on the chances of the VS being a full squad member in ME3, though.  Haters don't have to buy DLC, and if Kaidan/Ashley is a party member in ME3, they don't have to use them...or maybe save the killing for that game.  I REALLY don't want make killing the Virmire Survivor an option in DLC.  It would be trivializing them yet again.

Word.

I've had about enough of this "killable" business. If I had things my way *neither* would be killable from the beginning. I absolutely hate how marginalized they've become because of that game mechanic. No more, I say!

Regardless of whatever else we see in this DLC, I would like Shepard to learn a bit more about what the past two years were like for Kai and Ash, and for the marines to learn a bit about Shepard's post-revival conflicts.  Just little extra glimpses, not giving full resolution but setting down some foundations.

i was thinking that the developers may save content about the alliance, cerberus shenanigans for me3.  however, it would be nice to get a glimpse into what ash and kaidan were doing undercover for the two years shepard was dead as well as during me2 when they were essentially off the grid.  also, having someone acknowledge shepard's resurrection and discuss it with her thus giving the gamers a more detailed look at the process would be a bonus.

there should have been a way as Shepard to respond to them but no there was nothing but listen to them run their mouth. so yeah i want  my revenge and thats means pay back by any means. Shepard was treated like Sh*t by the alliance in ME 2 so yeah killing my enemies is fair game

So... let me get this straight. You want to kill them because Shepard's dialogue was written horribly? I'm not even sure how to respond to that.

Then maybe you shouldn't. :innocent:

No its not about his or her dialogue was badly written its the  fact that Shepard was basically  made to listen them verbally chew his butt and have no power to respond thats whats so wrong about it.  so yeah I want my revenge by any means and if that means me killing them then thats fine by me but my female and male Commander Shepard wants to finish what they started. i will do what ever it takes to make sure they feel pain for their actions on horizion . after horizion its clear that every single member of the alliance is a enemy of My Commander Shepard and to Cerberus and pay back is going to be a b*tch

Perhaps you are right. What's that old internet saw... "Don't feed the troll"?

Oops! wrong account!
This is my roomates account, he told me to login to his account from time to time to make sure that Bioware doesn't delete it due to inactivity.

Gasp!  You got me excited.  I thought Malcom was back.    You are of course also a lovely person.  ^_^

I asked you nicely not to be a jerk, but now I'm positive you're just trolling and calling people cry babies is unacceptable.  I've reported you to a moderator and I know other people have too.  Have fun with that.

Also, you no longer exist in this thread.

As long as they give Shepard a Domestic Violence Renegade option to anything attributed towards the 5 cents that Ashley Williams will ultimately muscle in since she's just Pro-Alliance.

I'll just keep saying... " I hit you because of Horizon". Thats all. Make it highlighted in red with 3 selectable actions:

1. Rifle Butt

2. Armored back hand

3. Heavy Throw

Fortunesque is attempting to prevent the inevitable shut down that will occur if the thread follows its current course.

I thought they'd do that with the whole Shadow Broker storyline, too, and yet they didn't.

But the decision between the Alliance and Cerberus would definitely make a nice bridging content between ME2 and ME3, a fantastic way to bring back Kaidan and Ashley and hopefully a chance to reconcile- the other DLCs were mostly good but certainly lacking in both regards.

Storywise I don't mind that you had to choose between one of them in ME1. I had no idea that was going to happen and I was blown away. It was pretty gut wrenching leaving one of them to die. Thought it was a bold move on Bioware's part.

The other edge of the blade of course is that it's only realistic for them to marginalized in some way. I sort of expected that for ME2. But I also really look forward to ME3, which they've said they were "saving them" for? I don't know the direct quote or who said it, but I'm hopeful.

And again, REALLY hoping for that option for my Shepard to apologize to Ashley as well. Since they were both jerks.

Extreme I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but if you mean that then I really appreciate it.  Thanks.

I would like a VS DLC. Will we get it maybe/maybe not. But, even if a Dev came in and said you guys haven't been forgotten and we are working on a satisfying conclusion to your romance arc in ME3 that would even be nice.

I also find it odd that after finding out that Shepard was alive that the Alliance nor the Council did anything to try to get you away from Cerberus. It seems that in everyone's eyes Shepard is a traitor. I know that this is a game but, I was kind of shell-shocked to be yelled at and labeled a traitor by Ash/Kaidan. And then Shep couldn't even defend him/herself. I knew the conversation was going to keep going down hill from "How you doing?" Really are you serious you haven't seen your LI / Friend in 2 years and that's the best you can come up with? If I have the option in ME3 to fly to furtherest system and land on a planet and become a hermit and wait for the Reapers to wipe us all out I'll do that but, I'll be drunk and happy and alone. O.k I probably wouldn't do that but, the way things went on Horizon I think Shep wanted to crawl in a hole and die.

My thought on this is that Anderson, the Alliance and Ash/Kaidan probably knew more than what was hinted at in the game.  And that information was probably fraudulent intel fed to them by The Illusive Man that by all intents and purposes made Shepard look really bad.  I don't believe for a second TIM would just come right out and admit "oh yes I told the Alliance this this and this and also this."  He admitted to floating the rumor, but I suspect it was more than that.  Or at least that's what I hope.

I really wanna see things from the Alliance's perspective before I jump to any real conclusions about the Alliance "turning its back" on humanity and Shepard.  Because remember, we really only got one side of the story - the Cerberus side.

No BadPie I'm not talking about those stupid rumors that Cerberus started. We all know that you can't trust TIM to save your life. I mean that when you go see the Council and Anderson. I know that Shep should have been able to say "I know my being alive is hard to believe, I can hardly believe it myself but, I need your help I don't want to work for terrorist." I don't blame them for not trusting Shep just like I can understand why Ash/Kaidan reacted the way they did. Shep is forced to work with Cerberus and that plain sucks. I don't trust the Alliance either and I won't say why because, this is a non-spoilers thread but, if you bought Kasumi DLC you would know why I feel that way.

But, I do know that I would like to see Shep show some kind of emotion. I know that Shep is a bad*** but he/she can't be heartless. Showing a little vunerability when with their LI would go a long way. I think that telling Ash/Kaidan that they are needed and not just from a mission stand point would be a start into them mending the issues that are between them Image IPB

Hehe, Fort. I think herp and derp pretty much sums it up.

If it were free dlc and was just a chance to hit "reply" on email I'm not gonna lie...I might be happy.

...Okay I'm way more needy than that...

@Ruby.  I totally get you.  I'm not sure I fully trust the Alliance either.  I've always felt, even from the beginning Cerberus had to be in bed with the Alliance somewhere high enough on the food chain.  Don't know if this is true, obviously, but it's a reasonable suspicion.  But if it was the case I still don't think Anderson or Ashley or Kaidan would know about it.

Someone shine a light!:wizard:

Depends how Shepard acts on Horizon. S/he can be pretty cordial if the right dialog options are chosen. I had to reload the conversation with Kaidan several times before getting everything right. Some of the options are derpy, they're not just isolated to the bottom options.

Indeed.  That was what really bothered me about Horizon.  Shepard was just so blasé about the reunion.  Even when the Collector Ship takes off, that colonist (Delan?) was getting very aggravated, while Shepard (who had no way of knowing if Ash/Kai was on that ship or not) relaxedly told him to take a chill pill.

Shepard is tough, but s/he isn't just made of cardboard or concrete.  There is a bit of human uncertainty and vulnerability there too - we see that in scenes like the dejection at the lockers in ME1.  Your friend/lover/teammate has already seen some of that.  What's so wrong with showing some again?
