I would like to see some religious conflicts between Ashley and Shepard.

I never liked Ashley but i tink her character is unique in terms of how religious she is. And since she is religious she can't just believe Shepard died and came back from the dead. She would have to ask questions, and Shepard could answer according to his/her alignment renegade would turn her into an athiest, and paragon would reaffirm her belief in god.

I'd like to mostly stay away from this since it seems like it would be a huge discussion that doesn't lend itself to anything but our imaginations.  While Ash is religious, I don't see her as fanatic about it.  She mentioned it once.  I do see it as being something she can be comforted by, and something that fulfills her spiritually.  I would think she would definitely have an issue reconciling Shepard's return from the dead.  I mean, what does that mean? Where did he go?  What about his soul? What does this mean for everyone, including her previous dead loved ones, like her father?  Ash had some major things to deal with and her religious beliefs were probably layered into it in some way.

I hate the idea of convincing her either way.  Shepard doesn't determine who these characters are.  They are who they are and Shepard either agrees or doesn't.  It would be pretty stupid and downright insulting to the character who had established having convictions and beliefs to then be like "oh, okay" as soon as Shepard says so.

If there is discussion about it I'd rather it not be "conflict," more of a discussion.  But I also think both of them might respect each other enough to not delve into it too much.

I count to three times. Might be more I'm forgetting.

1. After Eden Prime: God saved us but not Jenkins, wtf?
2. Talking about her dead father: He's in heaven now!
3. Talking about Kaidan's death: He's having fun in heaven now! Right?

That said I agree. She's definatly not a fanatic. More a comfort christian that uses faith as a tool to deal with loss.

Here's the conversation after Eden Prime I was thinking about. Many might have missed it seeing as how you have to pick a renegade line and be sole survivor to get it (ME1 has much bigger and more diverse dialogue trees than ME2). I think many of those that view Ashley as a fanatic might have seen this because here it is made clear Ashley's God isn't even deistic and she kind of insults Shepard by stating that God is the one masterminding his great exploits! The idea of an intervening god is pretty extreme to most modern men.

Come to think of it the insult isn't all that subtle if we put these two quotes together and consider how she emphazises "with respect":

Ashley: With respect sir I think you had sombody watching over you.
Ashley: Why is it whenever someone says 'with all due respect' they really mean 'kiss my ass'?

Considering how blasé Shepard is being towards Jenkins' death I can see how Ashley would get upset at something like that. The comment comes across to me as, "Of all people (considering how you're taking the death of a fellow soldier) you're the one that makes it". It's a remark on how ungrateful Shepard is being especially with Akuze being part of his past and his making it out ok.

I can see how someone will look at it as an insult when they don't take their own mannerisms and how they come across in mind.

You're taking that out of context though. The second quote was in response to Ashley and Kaidan arguing over who should stay with the bomb, with Ashley responding that "With All Do Respect" being condescending. In the first quote she was saying that to compliment Shep.

And the whole "disrespecting Shep." I don't see it. Shep was downplaying the magnificence of His/Her past. All Ashley was saying that, for something amazing like that to happen (in this case Survivor A thresher Maw attack that in all rights should have killed you) that someone, who she doesn't even define, might be watching over you. I hardly see how that's insulting.

No she is not saying it to compliment Shepard. She is pissed at Shepard because he is nonchalant about the deaths like the above poster pointed out so she tells him to kiss her ass and thank God. You can't in any way shape or form read that as a compliment. She is angry and upset.

Yes, very interesting, but off-topic here. This is about DLC, this is not another thread about whether or not Ashley is entitled to have religious beliefs. Keep posts on-topic, please.

I'm going to get back on topic, but I have to address this. You're wrong for several reasons. She never specifically brings up God in the conversation, she simply said "I think someone is watching over you." Nothing in her tone of voice during the conversation gives off the aura of her being angry or "pissed off" so claiming she was is outright false. Finally she never demanded or expected Shepard to thank a higher deity for protecting him. You're putting words in her mouth just to support your stance. -_-

As for the DLC, I think it would be cool if the council was looking for Kaidan or Ashley to become a new Spectre. Considering the previous Human Spectre "died" the  DLC mission can be their "audition" mission to say if they have what it takes.

I think I'll be disappointed if we find out Ash or Kaidan are Spectres either in dlc or ME3. They're not Spectre material or the Council would have been looking at them long ago. I hate the idea that the human Spectre is dead so let's take a runner up out of necessity to get things done. Spectres are elite, and the Council had been watching Shepard's career for a very long time. As awesome as Ash and Kaidan are, making them Spectres just sounds a bit too contrived to me, and I don't think they're necessarily up to the job.

Not to mention, the Council is dismissing left and right the existence of the Reapers. If Ash or Kaidan is doing any operative work (which I think they were) it's for the Alliance and the few people within it who probably believe in the real threat.

How about recruits into the Corsair's then? I'd like to think them being part of the crew that help save the Citadel in the first game gave them some form of special achievement.

Except that Ash and Kaidan are clearly working somewhat on their own in a more operative type capacity.  The Corsairs struck me as a kind of strike team or full task force.

I wouldn't mind corsair for Ashley (she deserves to be recognize for her hard work), except this same position could be applied for Kaidan; I fear that it would give people more leverage to say, "Kaidan and Jacob are so much alike and so boring derp, derp, derp!"

Actually, I kind of like the idea of the Virmire Survivor become the next human Spectre because they have more than proven themselves worthy and able for the task. Here's to the VS becoming a Spectre! *crosses fingers*

That would probably happen, yes. So no, I don't want to see Ash or Kaidan becoming a Corsair or a Spectre - especially considerng Shepard's track record with other Spectres.

LOL Aw, come on! I highly doubt that Shepard and Kaiden would have a Spectre vs. Spectre duel a la' Lair of the Shadow Broker. Not unless Kaiden has a REAL beef with Shepard.

Would Kaidan? Probably not. Would BioWare if they thought it'd fit into whatever plot they come up with? Most definitely.

Heh, wouldn't put it past them. :P

Oh, yeah. We now have 635 members for the DLC support group. The list keeps growing! Posted Image

If the fanbase keeps growing like this, I would be truly surprised if there WAS NOT a VS dlc.

Let's do a basic cost analysis, assuming the DLC costs 8 dollars and each of those members buys it from the Bioware store.

That's 5080 dollars profit right there.

Not sure what that means in terms of corporation, but it's still a lot of money.

No no.  Bioware would never dream of repeating themselves or relying on lazy writing to cram some sort of cliche into their story based on established archetypes for characters they've all but written off.......

Ugh. Sorry.  Had a bad night.  Taking it out on my Ashley withdrawl.

Uh, do you guys have any official word from the devs? Are they really going for a VS DLC?

No.  That's sort of the entire point of having this wishlist thread.

Like Didy said above.

It's kind of what everyone is assuming the next DLC will be, though. I know I'm not holding my breathe, but it would be nice to have a VS DLC next. Both from a a story perspective and otherwise.

There's one thing that was in my mind I wanted it to be mentioned for the DLC. How Ashley/Kaiden would react if they knew you preserved the Collector base to Cerberus?

ok this is god news isn't it? the VS dlc might possibly be in the works. hopefully Ash can get some of the "special attention" that bioware's owed her for a long , long time.

on topic, i think Ash and maleShep should meet on the normandySR2 maybe Shep's ship has been seiged by batarians and Ash just happens to be near to the incident and goes to save Shepard? what do you guys think ?

I'm starting to think in 3 you might have the support of Cerberus or the Alliance but not both.  So I'm wondering too how and if it will effect people like Anderson and Ash.  Although I'm still not convinced that its highest levels are not intertwined in some torrid Cerberus/Alliance affair.  So that will be interesting to see.

As for Ash rescuing Shep, I totally want that.  He's always the hero.  Let everyone be reminded of why Ash is a bad ass!
