since i am some kind of movie freak, if the cutscene editor is strong enough, i will try to come up with some cutscenes here and there, so because the toolset doesnt work for me now, i want to know what i can expect from people that already have the chance to work with it:
1. can i (without using any other programs) make my own animations? - and if not, what programs would i need and what would be the workflow? (and when you are at it, it would be nice to tell me the programs and workflow for doing my own 3d models)
2. what about the camera work, can i zoom in and out, move the camera around?
3. what about "blending" from one scene to another, you know, not these "hard" cuts where one frame shows camera1, and the next frame shows camera2, like for example someone is remembering something, you first see his face, and then slowly the scene becomes what he is remembering, is stuff like that possible?
4. one example, let say i want to do an action sequence that goes as followes:
charakter1 draws his sword and throws it, the sword is flying towards charakter2, the sword is spinning through the air in slowmotion until it hits the chest of charakter2 who then falls to the ground with the sword sticking in his chest, the pool of blood he now lies in becomes larger
is all that possible?
questions about the cutscene editor and animations

I'm not sure on this one. You can make some custom animations by linking existing animations.
2. what about the camera work, can i zoom in and out, move the camera around?
You bet, you can do that with any or all the cameras you set up. Move, pan, zoom just about anything you want.
3. what about "blending" from one scene to another, you know, not these "hard" cuts where one frame shows camera1, and the next frame shows camera2, like for example someone is remembering something, you first see his face, and then slowly the scene becomes what he is remembering, is stuff like that possible?
Yes I believe so though I can't remembr 100% if you can do this when switiching cameras. You can do it to start and end cutscenes for sure.

Yup, all of that should be possible, you would have to search for the appropriate animations and actions to make it happen but I am pretty postive you could do that.

1. I'm guessing you will have to wait and see if they release the exporters.
2. The camera is keyframed. You can tween with Linear or Bezier too for smooth movements. You can alter the FOV to zoom.
3. Blending between scenes such as into a dream I don't think is possible although maybe you could insert some placeable with a shimmering material in between the camera/creature at that point.
4. You can insert any Item you've created such as a sword into the scene and keyframe it's position/orientation so a sword flying through the air and spinning would be easy. Slow-mo could be faked by altering the speed of the character animations you insert.
You would have to find the correct character animations... they're all named things like mh.dh_1_p5 etc and there are lots.
EDIT: Snap.

If you look at the project titled 'Beerfish excel utilties' you will find a spreadsheet I made that lists all of the animations, describes what they do and gives you the file name.
