This time, I hope its not. In other Bioware games, our characters were more malleable, so it wasn't as disturbing to hear that a person could make a gay character. For example, it didn't bug me in DA:O, KoToR, or the sort-of-gay(alien physiology thing) in ME. However, imagining the tough and macho looking hawke as gay would be sort of disturbing.

I surely hope not. There's too much of that in real life, no need to bring it into my games too.

I think proof needs to follow a statement like this.

I also heard Duke Nukem Forever will be shown at PAX.  Meh, I'll believe it when I see it for both. :P

Then you're really not gonna like the part where a Bioware rep forcefeeds it to you.

BioWare employees (or an employee) have (has) made arguments defending a hypothetical lack of homosexual romance options, but there has been no confirmation either way.

Where was this? I actually do believe you, but would like to see it myself if you happen to remember where.

1. The Hawke character should be malleable. The trailer gives but one version of him.

2. Are you implying gay people can't be though/manly-looking?

There's been no confirmation either way, so those that want it can keep on hoping and asking for it.

You didn't think they called him "evil" Chris just because he used that emote alot, did you?

Anyway, as far as I can tell they've been avoiding talking about companions all together thus far, let alone romance
options (except to say that you can't romance your sister, ofc). Even if there aren't any homosexual LIs (but I'd be surprised if that were the case) you could just not romance anyone, this is roleplaying, after all.

My statement may have been reading between the lines a bit.

Yes, it sounds to me more like Gaider is covering his bases if the Dragon Age 2 romances don't include M/M as a possibility.  For all we know, it may not have even been decided yet in a final way.

I dunno, it sounds suspiciously, and depressingly, similar to the defense used by the Mass Effect people.

That is... very critical of you. Macho =/= not gay. Likewise, flamboyant does not mean 'bends over and takes it'.
