However that could make the player a bit uneasy. First of all he just tried to kill you then second of all he comes out of the gate stronger than Panther musk no matter who is the character. Its bound to make many players uncomfortable regardless of their sexual orientation

Then that's a problem people should have with Zevran's somewhat macabre libido, not his sexuality.

Are you offended by anti-gay? If yes, then there may be people offended by gay-ness! Should they not be given some freedom to choose too?

Well maybe shouldn't view Zevran as a prototype gay person. He is an assassin/**** and there is a story behind it. I think it could be handled in a way that there was a gay male LI who isn't that obvious. So only people who are looking for it find it. I personally don't mind either, since I am not an insecure teenager, so I try every possible LI just for fun. I wouldn't be sad if there was no gay LI at all since I am not, but hell, why discriminate minorities? Just because we can?

I am not a girl who gets a personal kick out of gay relationships; I don't find that hot or sexy. It's just two people who care about eachother. Why should we deny someone that?

Why should we allow whatever our personal hang ups or prejudices are get in the way of someone being able to be who they are? If you're allowed to be a straight, you should be allowed to be bi or gay or whatever.



If personal freedoms offend you then I don't know how you expect anyone to respect the way you chose to live your life.

No, I am anti-irrationality. If people are freaked out by Zevran I would prefer - in my own idyllic world full of murderous unicorns - that it was because that his character disturbed him, not his sexuality. Homophobia has always seemed illogical to me, for there is nothing to be afraid of.

That said, everyone has a freedom to choose. On a philosophical level, I don't mind homophobia. I also don't mind racism, sexism, rape, murder, and many other things. But that's only on a philosophical level where I've been taught to beat the crap out of my mind and 'see things from all sides'. On a personal level, all of the above irks me, and more. Like toed socks.

if only it were that simple!  I do agree with you that it should be that way but however, I just dont think it is ridiculous that political correctness DOESNT exist in our games.  Remember Fox news calling Mass Effect inappropriate and explicit with the sex scenes?  anything that is shown in the media and affects public opinion fuels political correctness. 

What I would want to see in DA2 is minimal sexual relationships and maximum everyone relationships.

Some people are religious. And some of those religions disagree with homosexuality or homosexual sex. I can therefore see where some people are coming from, even if I don't ever agree with them.

I have seen many people complain about how Jacob from Mass Effect makes them feel uncomfortable. Mainly due to how Shepard interacts with them. Its not unforseable that in a similar situation Zevran would make many uncomfortable. Hell even Liara from ME 1 made me uncomfortable at times.

Oghren made me uncomfortable, and he even had a comeback in DA:A!
