I have seen many people complain about how Jacob from Mass Effect makes them feel uncomfortable. Mainly due to how Shepard interacts with them. Its not unforseable that in a similar situation Zevran would make many uncomfortable. Hell even Liara from ME 1 made me uncomfortable at times.
Oghren made me comfortable, and he even had a comeback in DA:A!
Agreed by a 1000% especially in Awakening

This. This I'm totally chill with. I had to grit my teeth and mentally prepare myself when I talked to Jacob and Liara both.

They are not required to like it, only tolerate people who think different.
What he said. I would hate to see certain aspects of a game toned down or removed because it makes some people "uncomfortable".

But then, that may be because the main argument I've seen for homophobia had to do with Genesis 19:19.

Subconcious thoughts.
Hawke's gay beard is beholded by the Dragon Age bible
or something like that. Quite a righteous beard actually

I am sure if the story is deep enough you don't need companions at all, or LIs. But such stories just don't happen anymore, so we are taking care of other people private problems while the main story trickles on.

Oh poop, I have to stop doing that. Whenever someone mentions homophobia and religion in the same sentence, my mind immediately jumps to the Bible and Christianty. D=
And I'm not religion bashing, I promise. Religion is a wonderful, wonderful thing that gives so many people hope and a sense of community. It's just a shame that the interpretations taken up from some religions cause so much harm.

And to think I haven't seen any bathing facilities about, nor sewer facilities. At least that are connected to the buildings anyway.
But if a castle doesn't have any bathrooms then why would they have to have a sewer infrastructure

Ah, you're using buzz-words as an opinion...how expressive.
Nobody is asking for Gaysimworld. They're simply asking for the same things that everybody enjoys from their fictional characters and romantic content - character identification and emotive content that can appeal to them directly.

During Dragon Age, the Warden was "YOU". You could decide who he or she is in almost every aspect. From hair color, gender, to temperment via voice.
But in Dragon Age 2, we dont have that flexibility. With Hawke being only human and being voiced and whatnot.
Out of curiosity, does this rigidness mean that Hawke as a character, male or female, will not be interested in the same sex?
Just wondering.
Aside from voice and race, Hawke is just about as flexible as the Warden. You still pick gender, appearance and class, I see no reason for anyone to think "Hawke" (Who is still very much your character) to be restricted to a sexuality not of your choice.
Why does everyone seem to think giving Hawke a set last name means it is an entirely predefined character. ALL of your Wardens had set last names as well,, and were even called by it in some cases (Though only rarely as they likely did not want to have to record even more lines of dialogue) and just like the Warden, you get to choose a first name. Also:
Hawke =/= Shepard
Shepard was a space marine with a very specific mission that was bound to the Paragon Renegade system. All the options you were given reflected this. (Why there was no male/male romance, had little to do with Shepard, and more to do with Bioware. I don't know why) Hawke is bound to no such system and I think it was Gaider who posted that Hawke was a much less predefined character than Shepard
All that is a little off topic though. So, in conclusion, considering it was in the previous game:
You'll likely be able to be as gay as you want with at least one love interest of like mind
Granted, I'll probably never explore that romance so I don't particularly care
