I thought they were engineers using tech attacks, myself, been a while since I played ME1 so I don't fully remember

but I don't see why there wouldn't be any biotic Bartarians, just not as many as the other species might have

Batarians were weak sauce in ME1, I never got to shoot at them long enough to see if they were using biotics.

While I don't recall any batarians using biotics in ME1 (or ME2 either for that matter), any organic race has the potential to become a biotic if exposed to dust-form element zero while still in the womb. In most cases, however, such exposure simply results in cancers/tumors and death for the unborn child.

doesent matter they all have an average lifespan of 3.7 seconds around sgepard
