Male Shepard is my canon, and I use the default version all the time. My female Shepard, however, is a different story. I have a playthrough where I used the default face for her and another where I tweaked her appearance. But for male Shepard, it's ALWAYS the default.

I hate the default and none of my 10 characters are default, male or female. If I were to use default the game could just as well have no branching dialogue or actions.

! If you could customize Shepard to look like Pauli that would be the greatest thing ever! The scene with Shepard's mother in Mass Effect 1 (where he speaks to her on the Normandy) would instantly be a million times greater!

On topic:

As most others have stated, for the Male Shepard I use default (my cannon Shepard) and for Female Shepard I use a custom one (although I only have one Female Shepard whereas I have tens of Male Shepards).

I think Sheploo is not so much Canon Shepard so much as he is Conan Shepard.

I have 9 sheps at this time, none of them is default. The Face creator in this game is great, i like to use it a lot. My canon is a femshep.

I think Bioware's data mining answered this question already: 80% of Mass Effect 2 players use a custom Shep.

default shep is totally authentic realistic.

I use the default male Shepard look. All the male customization options look a bit awkward and a bit odd to me. Sheploo looks more natural to me compared to the customizations. With female Shepards, I always customize since they at least look a bit better to me.

I use one custom Shep face so often that it practically IS my default. I honestly think seeing the default isn't canon anymore.



That said, I never once used the actual default.

I always use default shepard when playing as male because male custom is really ugly, custom female shep looks much better though.
