In terms of spells themselves, I find it very hard to play a Wizard in NWN2. (Even though I love the spells, effects, robes etc.) This is because I struggle with the fact that I can only cast every spell once without resting. It just takes me out of the action when after every fight I must rest. What if I want to cast my meteor storm twice in a battle? I can't.
You can have your wizard memorize your favorite spells multiple times. Or you can play a sorcerer. Or you can buy scrolls. Or you can have multiple wizards in your party.
You can also consider using the Meditate option I added with my Kaldor Silverwand Context Menu Additions. Not precisely the same as a cooldown since it is not automatic and cannot be used during combat, but a very quick and easy way to replenish spells after battle.

Or instead of scrolls be like the Wizard I have in my party for the White Plum Mountian group I'm doing right now. That boy has way to many wands it's just sick, but than he never runs out of spells and allways has some trick up his sleave. He's based off a PnP Wizard I played in my early years of TT AD&D back during great old 2nd days. Infact this whole part is made up of loosely my old chars from the good old day brought together.
As for the topic of this thread. I am find with MMO's and online games, I just hate when they don't have much OFFLINE to play. I do alot of traveling overseas and offshore where internet is as bad as dial up or nill. NWN2 has bascily along with KoToR been my sanity when I don't feel like ready a book. Thankfully for our great support here in the community I have tons of adventures to play and replay. Along with the fact I can make chars and tweek them more to how I want the char to be like. Most MMO's I played I get bored cause of the lack of option of this until atleast you spent alot of money or alot of time to get there.

Ah yes, I forgot about wands. The great equalizer.

She's a Red Wizard of Thay, so the meeting of the other ones near the Gnoll mines was priceless. That and toasting the rival Mage in two rounds was classic...ops. Realy I didn't know half my parties loved there wan gifts I made them, want to see how well they work....ever been hit by 4 lightning bolts at once while being backstabed and clubed to death by morning stars? Not a pretty site at all....haveing a blast with this evil group.Kaldor Silverwand wrote...

It doesn't play like WoW. Plays more like KoA:Reckoning or The Witcher or Dark Alliance in that it's an action RPG, not a hotbar based MMO.
To me KoA looks like a WoW-clone anyway. Just they stripped away some things and made it even more actiony (that is even further away from NWN than WoW is).
The Witcher and Dark Alliance aren't even multiplayer games....so.....

Incidentally, Atari has nothing to do with NWO anymore. They sold Cryptic to Perfect World. NEAT!
