Cleavage and high heels in non hostile situations (on board the Normandy for example): Sure, no problem.

When facing nasty things like toxics, vacuum, diseases and bullets a decent suit of armour is needed.

Funny how some make the assumption that this opinion automaticaly makes you a single minded prude. But life is less complicated when you can generalise a lot I suppose.

And by the way a well armoured person can look very sexy without having things hanging out as we could see in ME1. Some of those heavy armours in that game was realy hot.

One can approach Samara's outfit from two sides: "That's what she chooses to wear" and "That's what Bioware put her in". This will, most likely, dictate your entire reaction.

That sounds like it. And probably means this issue won't be resolved. I look at it from the game's perspective instead of developers' and find no problem

The problem is that there are a pair of blue breasts that Shepard is denied access to because of age discrimination...and therefore it is unfair.

Since there isn't any law in the Terminus Systems, he can't really sue anyone so he's SOL.

1st.... your crazy.... you do get a chance to go back into 101 and kill em all if you want.

2nd.... your crazy too. I dont mind the fashion to continue I just want vaccum sealed suits outside the normandy :P

3rd. I dont really mind those unaccessible pieces of hardware on abord the normandy...though

I have full confidence that despite some of the more hard core individuals that want to go Burqua on the characters that the styles shall continue.

How exactly do we get from "armorless and unbuttoned to the navel in a gunfight" to burquas?

Just askin.

I stopped playing SiN completely because I got tired of that villain's boobs being thrown in my face all the damn time. The scenes with her, and that particular dream, were just gratuitous.

I felt the same way about the camera focusing on Miranda's ass a few times, and on my first play-through I literally said to myself, "If they do this on her loyalty mission, I'm stopping." Luckily, there weren't any butt shots on Illium and then they threw the "cold **** has a heart" plot twist which redeemed the game for the butt shots.

Samara never really was an issue for me, even though she is a "space paladin". It only makes sense that she'd cover them up if she were a human (our religions often push modesty) but she's not. Asari aren't the most modest race in the galaxy (Benezia, anyone?), so I don't expect Samara to cover up.

I would like to see more costumes, though. The one concept art costume that did have her cleavage covered looked pretty nice.

I think Benezia was drawn in homage to her voice actress.  At least that's what occurred to me when I saw her (Benezia).

Even the game itself loves her cleavage. No matter how glitchy the rest of the body is, her chest remains intact.

Let it be known that Samara has sacred cleavage.

Coalesced.ini edits gone wrong. Added Samara's outfit to my Shepard's wardrobe, and her head to my helmets.... Well, it looks like the game doesn't want me pretending to be Samara. :crying:

2. Jedi dont wear armour because they use thinly disguised magic to gain vauge impressions of the future so they can block incoming blaster fire with their lightsaber. Samara has neither. Besides, can we please not ape Star Wars?

Fail

Samara has Biotic Barriers that can deflect bullets.

You dont dismiss one form of protection because you already have another one.

Why should Garrus wear armour when he has shields?

Why does my Adept Femshep wear armour?

I think you hit the nail on the head here.

You do if the form you're dismissing interferes with one you have. Hardsuits have kinetic barrier generators, they don't really make them without them, and established technical details indicate two kinetic barrier fields in proximity interfere with each other. As the only biotic we've seen to date who can fly, I'm willing to accept that her powers fill the protective role without trouble. Maybe older asari just "run hot" and need extra ventilation cut-outs in their outfits. Liara was young enough to get away with the Science Jumpsuit.

But then, I'm in the "chooses to wear", occurs-mechanically-thus-occurs-narratively-you-fill-in-the-logic-gaps camp.

It would be easy, especially for someone of her station, to get customised armour.

Sooner or later, barriers go down.

Its not the cleavage that puts me off so much as her face. She has that constantly surprised look brought on by the brow line, but more importantly.

She has the jaw line from a Doge RAM truck.

I can understand that many asari like to flaunt it, even matrons, but she's a "warrior monk" so it does seem to be a bit out of characters.

Uh, she's a justicar. They can do whatever the deuce BioWare wants them to, and it's fair game. She's also an asari, part of a race which is very (sometimes naively--once I spoke to an asari shopkeeper who honestly had no idea why a human company would exclusively hire asari cashiers) open about their sexuality. Consider this: perhaps they're not wrong in being open, and you're just wrong in thinking they should cover up. Something to think about next time you zone out at work.

But mostly I object because her cleavage is cruel. She has no intention of sleeping with anyone, but there she is out advertising. Of course, many women do this in real life. They tease you to manipulate you but have zero intention of anything happening ever. Of course, guys like this anyway so I guess it is a win-win. But it does seem unworthy of a justicar.

You assume she's intentionally manipulating people. Perhaps she just happens to like it. Maybe it's just a typical look for justicar. Hell, maybe asari are so used to it that they just dress that way without thinking.

At least she's not walking around with a wedgie.

Asari seems a bit manipulative actualy. It's in their nature I think. There is not necesarily any bad intentions behind it and not necesarily even a consious thing. A person who lives by strict principes like Samara is perhaps less like that but she is still a Asari, not a human. So I belive Samaras less than modest way of dressing can be explained in some way if we want to.

But this doesn't change the fact that it feels kind of stupid to not cover vunerable things like heart, throat and head when people fire flamethrowers and rockets at you.

I honestly couldn't care less either way.  Showing cleavage or not, with bulky armor.  I don't play this game to look at racks, i play it cause the choices are badass, i like the story, and the companies got interesting stories and personality. And i really love to go nuts as  a Sentinel or Adept, Soldier is pretty fun to.
