Why does everyone hate poor Samara's cleavage so much?

keeping on topic, maybe the whole big breasts display is a Asari matriarch thing. I notice Matriarch Benezia had a revealing outfit as well.

If you mean Samara's cleavage, I doubt they care... There are Wii games with characters showing much more cleavage than Samara, hell, there are even afew Wii games with nudity. (Tonight at 11, boobies on a family console!)
It would make more sense for them to go after Castlevania: Lords of Shadow with it's full-blown nudity than Mass Effect 2 for Samara's cleavage.

actually i was more thinking that related to the way they have over reacted about the Liara fem Shep scene in ME1
EDIT: yes meant Samara's cleavage

American culture finds nudity offensive and violence glorified. Our country was founded on and by very religious people. If you look at most places in Europe, nudity is much more accepted than here in the states.
Did the bartender on Illium revealed her cleavage?

A Matriarch who was a bar tender. On top of that a foul mouthed Matriarch so again, we go back to this idea their wandering preistiess with a high moral code. She simply dressed different but it doesn't make it the norm either.

maybe but here in the netherlands are still a lot of people who think that in America every one runs around with a gun like in the wild west
and here they are so friggin narrow minded that they barely got out the village or city they were born in and lived their whole lives
yet they know how it is in America? but i cant blame them just feel sorry for them. but hey there is almost the same amount o people living in the Netherlands as in the greater Chicago area. they just don't know any better lol
but then again i have lived for 10 years in Chicago, might even go back there liked it a lot better than here.

The ironic part is that if you actually read the Bible, there's sex all throughout the book. Hell, Song of Solomon is practically devoted to it.
Frankly, I find it more than just a little ****ed up that America is totally okay with graphic depictions of violence, but something as harmless and natural as nudity is taboo.
It's like, if you're a normal human being, then eventually at some point in your life, you're going to see the opposite sex naked, and you see yourself naked on a daily basis. However, the only way a normal person is going to see the kind of violence seen on TV on a daily basis is if you're in the Army during a war.
Furthermore, if given the choice, what would you rather see in real life... A nude person, or someone getting brutally attacked or murdered?

I would disagree. Depicted violence has its own effects as well as nudity and sexual material.
The act of washing one's self is not the same as looking at other people.
Each in its perverted phases produces results that aren't healthy.
I would also say, that although graphic depictions aren't okay for say --- turning on your TV at 5pm at dinner with little johnny at the table, over sexualization is found in all forms of media 24/7 that is easily found --- if not injected into many other things like advertising and even children's programming/cartoons at some point.
On a lighter note, I am sure it isn't everyone's cup of tea to look at a human being that could be mistaken for a beached whale with his or her birthday suit in full display while your walking your dog along the shore. Lets be a little realistic here. Not like your going to see a horde of Kim Kardashians running around to your eye's content --- its the opposite.

I've seen that style plenty of times concerning space pirates in many Sci-Fi instances, freighter captains, freelancers.
The assumption ends with what the viewer ends up seeing.
oh alrighty... yeah point taken.

Well then I guess you wouldn't pick someone that didn't want to put protective coatings for such things --- like the Tali mission. In all honesty, you should have been cooking long after your sheilds were burned away... in many ways.... it should have been impossible for anything to work on that planet much less live.
Then... we'll once again go back to the loose Sci-Fi Space Opera science too!

We dont know exactly the how bad the radiation was... our suits are for vaccum so they must withstand quite the temperature punishment... and vaccum also has radiation so.
Not really sure how bad the radiation is on Haestrom, bad enough to fry skin, but not bad enough with protective gear?.... can't really say... so on that one I'll refrain judgement.
Either way... I would nto mind having mIranda, And jacob with Cerberus assault armor.... fits them, role wise.
On Jack.... a nice merc outfit, normal armor from ME1. Samara have no idea... can't think of one armor sets that might suit her role...throwing it out there though, medium armor?

Well Dr. Chakwas didn't bother to report what the eerie glow of Shepard's urine sample meant, she figured if he was able to come back from the dead, it wasn't nesessary to bother with such little things so she promptly spaced it.

There's a difference between a brief nude scene and outright pornography.
Nudity can be portrayed in other ways than just sexuality. Just because a scene has nudity or sex in it doesn't mean that it's intention is to turn on the viewer, it depends on how the scene is presented.
In other words, if "little johnny" sees a topless African woman on some tribal program on the Travel Channel, it isn't going to hurt him. However, if "little johnny" watches Robocop and witnesses the full unedited scene where Murphy gets shot to death, that would likely disturb the living hell out of him.
Furthermore, I dunno about you, but I'd rather see a nude obese person in real life than a murder any day of the week. Frankly, even if it were legal for folks to stroll about in the nude, (regardless of how physically attractive they are) you still shouldn't be staring at them. It isn't polite to stare in any situation, regardless of what someone is or is not wearing.

But it is of no moment, people can hate Samara's cleavage all they want, it's not going anywhere.
