i hate the forced family thing, hated them in origins, it's counter-role-playing, and counter creative, and limiting, and trite, yeah sometimes you can turn your back on them later on, but at the start of a game the last thing i want is to be told how i feel, i haven't even decided if i like the game yet, and i'm suppoed to love some poorly animated poorly scripted random relative who i've never met before? it's asking a lot
See, now that's a legitament opinion instead of a random hypocracy. And a personal taste. Personally, I liekd the family in DAO, except the nephew in the human noble origin. The kid was a little obnoxious.

I would love it if there was just a "whinging" thread. Not so we know who to avoid or anything, but because it can be hard to keep track of all the hilarious overreactions, so having them all in one place would make it easier.nerdage wrote...
There should be a separate forum for the people who are just bent on hating DA2, and when they're all in it perhaps it could be floated out to sea or something.

We get it Kordaris, you don't like DA2. If you're so convinced its going to be a piece of crap... why are you even still here?
But I don't want him to leave. He's so damned entertaining.
He has made petulance into an art form and brought unforseen grace to moaning.
I'm not so sure about grace but his persistance to find something to complain about is an inspiration to us all.
I can't wait for DA2 to actually hit shelves and Kordaris starts complaining about how much he enjoys the game.

I can't remember which board it was but one game company did exactly that. They had two threads, a "hate" thread and a "love" thread. The developers posted in both threads and life went on.

The problem us that hawke sister is a companion. Having a family member as a party member is so boring because you know she will be loyal and won't betray you and her motivations will be the same as yours.

I'm dusapointed that hawke brother dies and that Templar that means if hawke is female then the whole party is female at start. Very lame tbh.
Uh...yeah, no one in history has ever been betrayed by their siblings and siblings always work together. And it's so lame that if you play a male warden in DA:O that the whole party is male until you get to Lothering.

As opposed to the all-male party you could have in DAO up until Morrigan?Aldaris951 wrote...

Lol, this is exactly what I thought. I'm an adult, and of all the people I am close with and who I share circles with in my life, the one I LEAST often agree with and MOST often fight viciously with is my sister. Hrm.

I own a couple scars thanks to my sisters. The females in my family have a penchant for grabbing the nearest thing and throwing it at who ever is pissing them off at the moment.

??? You start actually playing with Morrigan in Lothering. She's not part of your party at Flemeth's hut or when you get the treaties.

You've played the game already? Can you send me your copy after you're done with it? [/sarcasm]
How do you know for certain that Bethany will remain loyal to you? Or agree with everything you do? You do realize that there's a perfect opportunity here where she *could* end up betraying you, or something less extreme, like constantly get on your case for decisions you make that she doesn't agree with?

People have already pointed out to you how every Origin had people that you were "forced" to care about. We don't even know if we need to be nice to your family, or if Bethany will like you if you treat her like crap.
