Now that I think about it, this DLC was probably planned from the beginning.

A $7 DLC for Leliana's fans, and another one for Morrigan's fans. Makes sense.

In a way I feel kind of robbed by the Leliana DLC seeing as how she was my LI yet all I got was a flashback story not involving my Warden at all.  I never get to see her and my Warden together in the present again.  At least those who had Morrigan as a LI will now (potentially) get to have some sort of closure.

THANK YOU David Gaider, glad to have someone close the lid on that.

Like I said before, I'm not a huge Morrigan fan but this is about more than just romancing Morrigan.

How about the bugs or lets say unclear quirks regarding Morrigan. For example the switch from love to friendly at the end of Origins after speaking with her which does produce the slide. By the same token though, it removes the slide from the end of Awakening? Is there some sort of flag system which will be corrected or taken into account for the DLC?

That said, that's not the only reason to do this DLC-- I would think many people would be curious as to what the future holds regarding Morrigan. And, yes, it takes all the various ending states of Origins into account. And, yes, in case anyone's wondering I wrote the Morrigan part.

Excellent! Does that also mean you wrote the main story for this DLC? :)

Uh, what happened to the two years of DLC we were promised? That's incredibly disappointing, although I'm very pleased that we'll finally get a DLC with our companions.

Why no DLC with Alistair? I am so disappointed with Bioware I rarely even bother with these forums any longer. He was one of the most popular companions by far and a major LI for Female Wardens. I was truly hoping for a DLC that would include a post-coronaton/marriage storyline with the Fem PC and Alistair. I am just nauseated with all of this at this point. :?

Because his story arc was wrapped up as nicely as it could be, doing anything to his character short of a full-blown 30hrs+ adventure will be doing a disservice. Don't become compromised by your desire to experience dragon age: origins with Alistair all over again, like I said, a DLC won't be the same, and won't go into nearly enough depth to justify tampering with the canon.

will the awakenings morrigan ending bug affect her reaction to you in witch hunt - since if you get the ring ending in origins you do not get the awkaenings - I am looking for her ending - so I guess my question is, is the only way to have the correct dialoge in with hunt (that you rmanced her) to NOT get the ring ending in origins

It just feels like this is the conclusion the story of men who romanced Morrigan.

Consider this:

If you're looking on this only from the romance perspective, out of all the romances in Dragon Age Morrigan's is the only one you never get any personal closure on. Not even a little bit. I understand wanting more from Alistair, Zevran and Leliana but you do at least get something from them... whereas from Morrigan you get nothing (albeit for very good reasons).

So for those men who romanced Morrigan, you might want to cut them some slack.

Once I get my Live account on Live, these DLC's will be my first buy!

And yes, closure! Closure, closure closure! That's just what the doctor ordered! Image IPB<tears of joy

Yes, I am curious about your involvement in this DLC as well David Gaider. I assume they would have to talk with you about the future of her character at the very least.

Yes, Witch Hunt is the final DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, and imo a great send off to an awesome game.

What happened to "2 years..."? Dragon Age 2. :)

Well that's pretty bloody annoying. I suppose we shall have to remember this when you promise 2 years of DLC for DA2.

Anyway, this DLC looks great. Bloody shame it's the last one, as there's still things I'd like to explore in Ferelden.

I see many people disappointed because this will be the last DLC.

I think this is a very good choice for closing in the circle definitely and finally moving to DA2, specially for those of us who romanced Morrigan and were waiting for closure.

You're right, of course.  I'm definitely curious, and if you had a hand in writing it, there's no way I'm not buying this DLC.

I wouldn't be feeling as disappointed right now, if I hadn't been under the assumption that I had another year's worth of DLC and expansions for Origins to look forward to.  I guess that's unrealistic, since you are all probably focused on DA2 ... but that doesn't make it any less frustrating!

once I saw that it's the final one, I have lost all urge to play DA anymore. You'd think they'd want to keep us in the DA universe. So for those of us who are sort of on the fence about DA2, we are gonna move onto other games

You might consider the Dragon Age tabletop RPG.  I picked it up recently and it's great.  If you can get a gaming group together, you can continue playing in the DA universe to your heart's content.
:)

Besides, if anything, this DLC inclines me to actually play DA:O more.  (I have yet to bring a male character past the Origins, so this is a real incentive to play one just to romance Morrigan.)

Even the Ultimate Sacrifice?  *confused*

Thanks for the rest of the info though.  [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]  FYI, yes I am really keen for resolution with Morrigan regardless of playing a female character and thus not romancing her.  In one of my endings (one I forced myself to play after the desperately unhappy first ending I received on my initial playthrough), Morrigan had something with Alistair that my character could never have with him, no matter how much she loved him.  That's reason enough to want to know more.  In other endings, I can see Morrigan being bitter at my character not giving her what she wanted.  This DLC is going to be played *so* many times.

Good news but I find myself apprehensive. I just hope there's more to this DLC then Leliana's song or GoA. The dark ritual was a pretty big thing for a lot of players and I would hate to see it reduced to something forgettable. Oh well, here's to hoping this will be the best DLC it can be for 560.

That seriously helps to know that. And the line before.

It's weird, but I'm looking forward to this with as much anticipation as I am Dragon Age 2.

Im probably one of the few here that is seriously considering NOT purchasing DA2. I adore DA1 to pieces. I tolerated the disappointment (to me) that was Awakenings. I've faithfully purchased all DLC's to support this game (even though I have not played the latest one, and feel little incentive to do so). I've waited out bugs (like the pickpocketing one), without a murmur.

I grant that the opinion stated by Mr. Gaider that Morrigan was the queen of the shut-out. That was who she was, and the role that she played. It was the inter-party mystery that kept the ball rolling. While other characters shared tidbits-Morrigan was always aloof. Even at the end, she gave nothing, and kept everything. (if you don't count the ring ;) )

This is why I find the decision to end DLC as a major blow. Either they were not as profitable as expected, or all resources have been re-routed to DA2. I agree with the above poster who stated that in customer service, it is wisest not to promise some service that is not delivered. If there was a promise for DLC for 2 years, then this was seriously a blow to many consumers that were investing in a long - term game with available new content.

From a personal perspective, I find it ironic that considering all the furor about not having promotions for the female hawk (ladyhawk :) ), that the only 2 character DLC's we received were for our sexy women. Again, catering to the male audience, and just carrying us girls along for the ride. Zevran, Sten, Alistair, Loghain were all terribly fascinating characters who really had much more to tell (and if a past scenario worked for Lei, why not Zev?). . . but they chose the two pretty ladies and major male love interests. (Yes, I know Lei swings both ways, but she was still guy-worthy).

Im not usually femi**** material, but really...this makes me wonder.

So, I will not be buying DA2 out of loyalty for a company that has treated me right. If I buy it at all, it will be the expectation of WYSIWYG.

First of all, apologies that I am only a few pages into this thread. I poked my head into the Forums while at work and was greeted with this announcement. *shhhhhhh* Don't tell anybody. Image IPB

Like a few have already stated, my excitment is great at this news but is twinged with sadness at the realization that this is the final chapter of "Origins".  I gather that this will be the last story featuring my Warden... *blows nose* Image IPB

I do hope this is not the last of the DLC between now and the release of DA2... but even so... after this adventure, my Warden will be no more? *sits in a corner and cries* Image IPB

Thank you BioWare for this announcement. The DLC (well, what we know of it so far at least) looks amazing and I simply cannot wait to experience it. Have already gathered up just enough points for this and the lair of the Shawdobroker DLC. Image IPB

I have been wondering, however... We have got a Leliana DLC and now a Morrigan DLC.  We have had Oghren as a companion in Awakening and bumped into both Alistair and Wynne in Awakening as well.  But what of Sten and Shale and... well... Zevran! I do miss my favourite Antivan assasin very much indeed and often wonder what has become of him... especially after that rather impassioned pledge of servitude he bestowed upon my Warden. *sigh*

This recent trend where you can continue your romance with your LI from the main game in a DLC (Liara in Lair of the Shadowbroker and now Morrigan in Witch Hunt) gives me great hope.  I sincerely wish that we will get the opportunities in the future to find out just what became of our LIs... but then again if this is the concluding DLC of Origins... well, that means that my Warden will simply head off into the sunset or whathaveyou... and I won't get to experience her continuing story ever again! *face crumples again* Image IPB

Also, because Morrigan's story gets addressed in this DLC... does that mean that the topic of Morrigan will not be breached at all in DA2?

Ah, so many questions and assumptions... and uncertainty! Image IPB
