I actually sat there with mouth open for a whole minute when I saw the announcement. It is impossible to express how excited I am. I kind of want to scream and run around, is that weird?

Bioware has thought out the DLC quite well, except for Darkspawn Chronicles... what was that about? Not only are you not doing 2 years, but the few DLC that you do release you make it a what if the warden died? What is the point of that? Anywho... just seems like decisions have been made the last couple months that have cut DLC down... because of DA2. But at least we get Witch Hunt :). I do feel like the origin story will be complete.

Finally, some conclusion, though did they really have to release it on the same date as the liara dlc? I can't play both at once :(

I'm kind of sad about this being the end of our warden :( *sobs*

Oh well at least it goes out with a bang.

I am really disappointed and angry. Why does Bioware only support the male players? Why does it make only DLCs for the female LI? Why no DLC with Alistair or Zevran? I am sure there is a big fanbase at least for Alistair.

I really love DAO and I purchased all of the DLCs though most of them were quite bad. I had the hope there will be coming some more interesting DLCs for the rest of the companions and some new adventures for my Warden, but no. DAO is ending with a DLC about Morrigan a person I never liked and surely my Warden would never go hunting her.

I don't understand why Bioware is promising 2 years of DLCs for DAO and also they promised to continue it after the release of DA2. It seems my hopes in Bioware was totally wrong. They made a great DAO, but after that? Awakening and the DLCs hadn't such a quality.

I guess the Dragon Age franchise is dying for me with this DLC because I am sure I won't like DA2 at all as I played it at the gamescom.

Leliana is not a love interest in Leliana's Song.  She is the lead character.

Hater!

Because Zevran, Alistair and Leliana ... got some kind of happy ending, either you become the queen or whatever.

Morrigan fans got nothing, no happy ending for us.

And if your warden wont go looking for Morrigan, to tie up those lose ends then dont buy the DLC. Simple go complain in a corner somewhere.

I'm torn. I've been wanting this for who knows how long yet why does this has to be the final DLC for origins when it was just getting good!? *sigh* But this will motivate me to get that final character up and ready I suppose. Thanks Bioware and with all good things I just wish there were more.. DA 2 here I come!

I seriously doubt "most people" kill him (at the very least, you can keep him around to make Poisons for you, even if you don't use him in battle and/or don't like talking to him).  Even companions I rarely use much (Sten, for example) are useful to have around and so you may as well recruit them, from a practical standpoint.

He's never once stabbed any of my Wardens in the back in Denerim.  You don't have to be best buddies with him, or even be all that nice, to get him to either back you against Talisan, or at worst, leave the fight.

If you don't like the character, that's fine.  Some of us do like him and would have appreciated some DLC with him.  It's not unreasonable to think something similar to what was done in Leliana's Song could have been done for Zevran.

Oh, great! What did we get? A happy ending? Where? It would have been a happy ending if the epilogues said that my Warden would stay by the side of the LI, but it didn't! It said the warden disappered. A happy ending looks different IMO.

Yes! Can't wait for Sept. 7th now. This and Lair of the Shadow Broker should be great. Though between the two I'm going to play this one first. I'm way more excited to see the conclusion to Morrigan's story.

You can easily kill Leliana, too.  That didn't stop them from doing a "pre-quel" DLC with her.

I was thinking more of a "Zevran as a Crow" adventure (in Ferelden, since elsewhere is apparently not possible), from before Origins, similar to the Leliana DLC.

Which is why it's a prequel...

I thought people were talking about their love Zevran being reunited together to defeat the Crows... cause that's what people were saying...

Like I said before, you could kick Morrigan out of your party in Lothering and choose to sacrifice Alistair/Loghain instead, so why hunt her down?

I just don't understand why only male players get what they want. It is my opinion about that. Therefore I am really disappointed about Bioware.

Whoah - missed the point about this being the last DLC. Was that planned or is it because of people whinging about DLC on the forums...?

Either way I'm sad :( I've enjoyed all the DLC - some of it wasn't as good as the core game but it was all enjoyable and all worth checking out. I wish Bioware would do some more DLC for the other characters (Alistair's origin would be interesting - how did he really get recruited into the Wardens? What was Sten actually up to before you met him in Lothering? What about a Morrigan prequel?). Mainly I just want an excuse to play the game more to tide me over till March.

Well, duh. The warden would disapear eventually to go on his/her calling. Sorry, but If you want BioWare to bring out a DLC where you and Alistair get married and have tons of babies, You will remain disapointed.

We are talking about happy endings with love interests
Not what it says at the end of Awakening.

I don't think this is directly comparable.  Zevran was optional to even recruit.  Kicking Morrigan out was possible, but you had to go out of your way to do it, and I don't think you can kill her.  It seems clear to me that they were always aiming to keep her "open" for future content, while this isn't really true with Zevran.  It isn't true with Leliana either, so a LS-style prequel for Zevran would definately have been a feasible choice.  I would have liked to see some more prequels...

Unhappy how this is apparently the "last DLC" for DA:O.

Very unhappy about that.

I would've thought an epic "The Calling" DLC would've been better fit as an end DLC.

What about other expansions? I vaguely remember mention of there going to be another expansion, regardless of DA2?

I'm sorry if this has been posted already... but has a price been given? Preferably in MS points. I think that i only have 1200 on my xbox, so with the Liara DLC being 800 i'll probably need to go get some more.

Personally, I'm pleased to see some resolution with Morrigan, although I would have preferred it to be in a longer format, and I'm very pleased for those who romanced her. That doesn't negate the fact that cutting off the DLC a year early because of DA2 is a slap in the face, or that we have had no interaction with the companions other than pre-release DLC or RtO, in which dialogue was lamentably lacking--oh my, the things that didn't get said that should have been!. Anyway, I don''t think that regreting the fact that this is a Morrigan DLC is at all fair. I feel completely justified in feeling that Bioware has consistantly mislead us about their support for DA:O, however. They started moving away from the highly interactive, dialogue rich model almost as soon as it was released, and have been backpeddling ever since. It's a damn shame, like seeing someone paint over something beautiful and complex to draw something that's really not up to the same standard. Sidenote: The Awakening epilogue takes away the happy ending with Alistair entirely, leaving things as up in the air as they are with Morrigan.

Yes you could, but you couldnt stop her from showing up in redcliff and offering you the darkritual. She doesnt die, so why wouldnt you want to track her down? I'm sure she has tons of interesting secrets Posted Image

Unless you hate her because she offered to sleep with your beloved Alistair. *sigh*

Ah yeah, I understand what you mean.  Though I am a male player, Alistair was my first Warden's closest friend, and I would have loved to see something more centered around him.  Especially, since he was the character with your Warden the longest.  I would also have liked Sten DLC.  There is a lot they could have done with this game if they had stuck to a 2 year support plan.  Actually, I wish they had gone with the Starcraft 2 approach, and planned out an even longer storyline over two expansions, so it would be DAO + Awakening + 2nd Expansion.  Instead of doing DLC, I would have preferred adding the original DLC to Origins, and further fleshing out Awakening and the second expansion.  The whole thing could then have been better integrated.

Well, for me it belongs together. The ending with the LI and the epilogues.
And no, I never hoped for a DLC with the marriage or something like that. I hoped for some kind of DLC like Leliana's Song, for example. All the other companions had interesting stories, either.

Well, then I hope for you you will be satified with the ending of your Morrigan story. :-)

I do hope the Warden does his calling... That is the last piece of the puzzle...unless that is included in this DLC...
