non-canon? If it's in the game, DLC or not, how is it non-canon?Bryy_Miller wrote...
I'm a little concerned that something of this caliber is coming out a few short weeks after it is announced. Hopefully, it has a year or so of work behind it. I'm also a little concerned that such a huge non-canon event is DLC.
I mean.. If your Warden decided not to do the DR, then yeah, it's not exactly Canon for your Warden-- but it isn't fanon, either.
By non-canon, I meant that I didn't think we'd be getting anything in DLC directly related to prior choices. But it looks like this is pre-DA2 DLC, just like Shadowbroker seems to be pre-ME3 (still waiting on official word for that, though). Also: there's a Strider in the screenshots. Giddy.
Unless I missed something, I don't see any indication that this is dependant on any particular choice (Dark Ritual), other than your character not dying. I agree that it looks like pre-DA2 DLC though, and good catch on the Strider.

There is no mention of the Dark Ritual or the Old God baby in the Witch Hunt DLC page. Read it carefully.
It is canon. Regardless of what choices you make, Morrigan leaves the Warden and says "Never to follow". How does any of this violate canon?

If we can kill her though, it'll be a day one purchase.

A $7 DLC for Leliana's fans, and another one for Morrigan's fans. Makes sense.

I'm not sure what to make of this announcement, really. I'm actually a little sad that it seems to rule out the chances of there being a second expansion.
I guess I'll see how I feel after I play it.
Morrigan disappears at the end of the game irrespective of whether or not you do the Dark Ritual. I don't think we can assume that they're only going to be telling the story of Morrigan-with-godbaby-in-tow. (EDIT: As I see Zy-El has already mentioned, now)Bryy_Miller wrote...

Though they do refer to Morrigan as a "lost love" in the advertising.
Hmm.

It is most likely not dependent, you're right, but like I said, it seems odd that we'd get DLC that incorporates something that WAS a Decision - or rather, had Decisions linked to it. An expansion, I can understand.

Hmmm. I'm on the fence about getting this. It's probably the end of DA:O... but I hate Morrigan. What to do?

"But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for."
"Revenge" - so at least trying to kill her is probably an option, though if they have more plans for her, she might survive. I'm sure the reason you couldn't kill her when you refuse the Ritual was for this DLC.

I'm assuming we can still expect more DLC - they promised two years of DLC to go with Origins and it doesn't seem like Bioware would go back on that, but as far as what kinds of DLC, I wonder!
I'm also curious as to how the quest will be implemented, from an RP standpoint. I rather think my two canon Wardens would try to hold to their promise to let Morrigan go without looking for her, unless they thought she wanted/needed them to find her. It will be interesting from that perspective, whether to put all my Wardens through this DLC or not. Some of them will most definitely go through it though, and I'm excited for it!

I hadn't thought about it that way. I wonder how much will be in this DLC. I wonder if this DLC will have decisions of its own to carry to Awakening. In any case, Origins -> Awakening -> Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt will be a pretty epic sequence. I had hoped for another full expansion though, before DA2...

The last thing I want is get an awesome robe for Morrigan (or whatever) that has a bunch of stuff relating to the post game in its description.
