As far as the 2 years worth of DLC, let's just call it even and say that BW "misspoke" and the fact that it was mentioned on forums, interviews, etc, was simply an "unforseeable and unintentional misrepresentation of the DLC planning strategy."  It happens.

Well, they're actually addressing the issue in this very thread, so we don't really have to guess. Just go to the News and Announcements forum and click on the Bioware logo below this thread to read the Bioware responses.

Is there a reply from Gaider saying anything about the fate of our Warden. Please let it not be. I am excited about the DLC, but, the Warden's end? Say it aint so!!!

No and there won't be.

If you want to know what happens in Witch Hunt, play Witch Hunt.

If you mean what happens to DA:O after Witch Hunt, it ends. There is no more warden adventures or any adventures in Dragon Age: Origins after Witch Hunt.

If you want to know will your warden character ever appear in DA2, DA3, DA7, DA103, etc, you will have to wait and see.

do you have a release date for da103? :wizard:

Exactly.  Rather than cashing in on the actual strengths of DAO, it seems that these are being neglected/ downgraded/ dismissed and we're just expected to love it because it has DA on it.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think the real strength of the game was the lore, the world created by Bioware. I want more stories from that world and I really don't see why the Warden's story needs to continue.

Well I had hope for a second expansion pack, but now it seems to be certain. This is the end of our Warden. Anyway, David Gaider is responsible for the plot so I´m very curious about it.

This must have at least been in the planning stage when they were working on Leliana's Song, they could have got Ms. Kempa to say a couple of lines for the DLC. No excuse for Leliana not to be in this at least. And if this was a proper send-off for the Origins story then all companions would be in it.

Sure it'll have a massive opening week due to the success of the original like ME2 but don't be surprised if it drops like a rock after that just like ME2 and fails to meet their sales expectations and then eight months later it's revealed DA2 and 3 will be coming to the Wii.

I know lots of people who liked Origins, who are not buying DA2.

Where can they go if they keep changing characters? They need a permanent character.

They can't expect people to buy DA3, DA4 OR DA5 If in everyone you play as a different character and story.

I don't think so. You forgot that DA2 is being made by exact same people as DAO. They're improving combat, which is good. In original you issue orders - mage casted his spell but warrior is still slowly moving in position. Now warriors run/leap, which is better, orders will be executed simultaneously.

I've no problems with changing characters so for every person you know who thinks the game needs permanent character, there'll be one who thinks otherwise.

I imagine if pinned down, the devs would explain that DA:O and the ultimate sacrifice was the proper send off to the Warden's story.  The more I think about it, the more I believe the God baby doesn't matter at all.  It was the choice that mattered.  As Mouse said, "Keep your wits about you, mage, because true tests...never end."

I could be waaaay off base too.  I guess we will soon see.

btw, love your "Balance of Terror" quote in your sig.

I would like that. I really dislike sequels and the ME franchise is one of the few I will actually follow through to the end. I approve of this strategy.

I amreally exciting for the conclusion to the Warden´s story, even when is a little sad to know this is ending, but I hope it would not be an she dissapear suddenly like in Awakening, please Bioware NO! DON´T DO THAT!

Now I have a question, for the narrative itself in the webpage and the line "Never follow me", this means the story is going to the Dark Ritual path? I mean Morrigan said that in the goodbye at Denerim, I don´t remember if she said that in the room to the Ultimate Sacrifice Path, but I don´t think so.

Anyway, thanks for this! And I am really exciting to play as Hawke in DA2

I honestly do not understand how people can get so judgmental over a video game character.

This.

Not interested in DA2 if it has nothing to do with my Warden from DA:O.

1) Hahaha....yeah right....that's what they say now....and how many is that....a few dozen out of millions lol.

2) They can make amazing new stories.....nothing says they have to be related.

3) Why not? They never promised the warden would appear in any other DA games and ultimately if the games are good they will stand on their own with millions of sales regardless of a few hundred disgruntled hardcore fans and forums posters....most of which will end up buying the games anyway rofl.

The "permanent character" is Thedas, you're advancing the story of Thedas as a whole and you're manipulating the world. Ferelden is completely different in your playthrough than Steve from Accounting's playthrough. You don't need to play the same hero over and over for a game to be considered a sequel.

Edit: The childish sense of entitlement on these forums make me laugh.

Will someone please explain to me why this is so I can at least take some of you seriously?

Devs--

I know it's not a source from you, but I read somewhere on Kotaku that this will be the end of Morrigan's story. Confirm or deny?

I thought you guys stated that Morrigan's story was far from over and will continue into DA2! :(
