The DLC sounds good so far, and I'll likely end up getting it. It's about time we find out what happened to Morrigan. But how did "two years of DLC" turn into "no more DLC after less than a year"? You all burn yourselves out or something? Yeah it had to end sometime but there's a major difference between what you've been saying since before DAO was released last November and now. It's rather disappointing to be honest.

I don't understand this attitude, no we don't get any more DLC for DAO but we get a whole freaking new game with DLC to follow it so we will get DA content no matter what. Its not like they're moving on to another franchise. And quite frankly given that we get a DLC tying up the last loose end from DAO its likely that any more DLC would have been extraneous.

Just think of DA2 as an expensive DLC. Download it from Steam for greater effect. There. Bioware keeping their promise.

Now that they said this is the last DLC, however, are we getting any more "Expansion"?

No. This is the last content to be released for Origins and Awakening.

Damn. It's too bad that this is the last one DLC. I thought that there may be more. I thought that the last part should be called The last stand or something. In it you need to gide your Warden to the Orgrimar to death and so on.

Sounds good, you have my money BioWare.

Still, I'm very disappointed with ME2's Lair of the Shadow Broker region issue.

:a sad, but still hopeful Hungarian:

If it is sketch, he's looking rather human... I wish is was... I love Sketch! For those who don't have anything to import, you can always start a new character.

you can be all emotional if you want but "kinda" misleading the fans about your product is not without consequences...
A lot of people will just plain say (censored) Bioware! i am not giving them anymore of my money because:
A: The lack of proper support for the game..it has been a saga all unto itself!
B: Cutting off the original "2 years" worth of dlc's.
.

I am in the 'A' camp...
The support for this game has been an epic fail. I have registered my copy of Awakening but have never installed it cos it needs 1.03 to run. I refuse to patch DA:O past 1.02 until there is a PC version patch that fixes more than it breaks.
As for the DLC's, Shale and Warden's Keep were ok, RtO was crap and is the last one I bought. I have no interest in Witch Hunt cos it needs 1.04 to run, and  figure will be the usual flop in quality and expectations. Besides, all I need to do is check back here to read all the spoilers and wailing after 7/09...
I don't care about the end of  DA:O and the Warden story, since this game no longer holds much interest for me. As they say, I have moved on ...  If EAware ever decides to actually fix the PC version, then I would go back to it.
As for DA2, not bloody likely... I will wait until it is in the 5 quid bin before even considering buying it. In fact, this is now my policy for any EAware product

According to Chris:

Chris Priestly wrote...

We have no plans for another expansion. The Witch Hunt DLC is the last new Dragon Age: Origins content.

So no.. Don't expect anymore DLCs for Origins. Maybe Bioware wants to concentrate on DLCs for Mass Effect 2 or trying to perfect Dragon Age 2.

I believe that was the original date for Dragon Age 2's release, but it has since been pushed back a month.

This is the most likely reasoning. A combination of:
"We have 5-7 more months before DA2 goes gold, let's not waste a team or two on Origins DLC development."
and, more importantly:
"Let's market the frak out of Dragon Age 2. We don't want to be producing new Origins DLC headlines in the news, we want DA2 headlines!"

Now it'd be easy to complain about those attititudes, but, to be honest - I'm just going to be happy they didn't say "We want to draw all the news attention to Dragon Age 2, so let's cancel those plans for Leliana's Song and Morrigan's Epilogue." as they were getting ready to announce DA2 after Awakening.

Call it a glass half full attitude.

I've seen like 6 dev posts since someone asked if we can import our GoA Characters and they still haven't answered.

Like the Lair of the Shadow Broker, this seems too cheap to have anything substansial in it. I'll just wait for the flames reaction of the community before making decisisons. And i never liked Morrigan anyway.

I think there's a few different things that may be confusing matters.

In
fairness, it is not always clear when we refer to "Origins" whether we
mean DA:O solely, or the family of all products tied into the DA:O
storyline branches/timeframe (e.g. the warden's story spanning DA:O,
Awakening, Golems, WH, and potentially also the stand-alone DLCs like
Leliana & Darkspawn) - we tend to use the term interchangeably.

WH
supports continuing your Warden's adventure at any point either from
Origins (DA:O solely), or Awakening, or Golems (e.g. the DA:O products
involving the warden).

The better question is perhaps what do you
want to do with your WH save moving forward. If you intend to import
it into DA2 for example, then you may want to include the decisions made
in Awakening and the other products - even if those are not
necessarilly reflected in WH.

I'm all for tying up that loose end with Morrigan, but I don't really like the looks of this right now. It's as if Bioware is just trying to shut the community up and move on to DA2 with an effortless DLC to finish the Warden's story off, complete with plot excuse to copy-paste more maps.

Either way, I'm sure this will be decent, but personally, I was hoping for a big epic expansion where we could get some of the old party together, run off to Orlais on the witch hunt, and give the Warden a big memorable finish.

If you let Loghain become a warden, look what it says in the Epilogue. "Loghain heads to the deep roads for his calling" or something down the lines of that.

No it doesn't  say anything like that. You made that up. Idiot.

OriginsIsBest wrote...

Surely you can't expect Loghain to live till he is 70? Because he drunk the taint when he was like 40.

I am a bit of a Loghain fan, and whenever I spare him he is assigned to Grey Warden Missions in Orlais. Apparently the Wardens don't think Loghain is gonna become a ghoul within the next few months or they wouldn't make him travel so much...

im gettin a wee bit miffed that everytime you release these packs we end up wasting another slot alocated to characters is there no way you can remove that damn thing?
