I have three Wardens thanks, A Warrior, a Mage, and a Rogue. All played through all the way to the Golem's DLC, I love each and everyone of my Wardens, does that mean I can't love Hawke just as much or more? No it doesn't. Tons of games have characters fighting for years, sure. And some of them have characters that after that one epic journey settle down and enjoy life, What exactly is the point you're trying to make? As for a link, to be completely honest I'm not quite sure where I heard it, all I know is that it was official, if you'd like to prove me wrong, get YOUR link that states it only lasted for a year, because I'm almost positive it lasted for only 2 years, excluding Awakening and the two DLC's that Feature your Warden.

You merely need only make a single Warden as your main character, unless you are making a bunch of different "what-if" stories. It doesn't bother me that you believe about Hawke, I wouldn't mind him myself, but the way at which you are passionate that a short amount of time is enough for my own personal Warden is a ridiculous claim. As mentioned before, there are several games I listed in which the hero spends much of his/her life devoting oneself to the cause of making his/her world a more tangible and enjoyable place to live. If it is indeed possible to at least give my Warden a relatively minor role, I would revel in the idea of having him assist Hawke in his own adventures. Think of it as an outlandish idea? Onimusha Dawn of Dreams disagrees.

As I stated before, I love my Warden, but I'll have no problem playing Hawke and making another amazing character for DA:2.

I interpreted a different tune from your last message, but perhaps maybe you indeed love your Warden.

You quoted me saying it numerous different times that I love my Warden. I have so many Wardens for the simple fact I loved the game enough to warrant three different play throughs for me. I buy every DLC the day it comes out, Trust me. I'm not bashing Origins in any single way. =) I just believe Hawke(Who people are taking as a character that won't be their own. Every single Origins Character had a premade LAST NAME aswell. Hawke is merely a last name. Cousland was my Warriors lastname if I recall. Human Noble.) can easily be just as cool. The problem with Origins for me is, I could never play my character how I wanted, I played my Warrior as evil as possible, and  quite frankly being forced to do things as a Warden never fit him. It fit my Mage and Rogue, but my Warrior not at all. =/ Thats why I'm hoping for more diversity in DA:2 for character development.

My mate is going to buy DA2, I'm not spending 50bucks to play as Hawke, so I'm gonna borrow it off him, when he gets it.

No warden, No sale.

Meh, I'm way more excited for a full length release. A 2-3 hour DLC won't be NEARYLY as good as great 60+ Hour Full Game Release. I can't wait for Hawke, getting kind've tired with the whole Warden genre of quests to begin with. The game needed something Fresh Ala Hawke.

DA2 IS 20 - 30 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY, SHORTER THAN ORIGINS.

I've read most interviews and seen the big article in last months Game Informer on it, Havn't heard anywhere it's only 20-30 hours. =/ So unless you heard it from somewhere very unsignifgant I'm going to have to call BS. And even if you're right, 30 Hours > 3 Hour DLC.

Just because I'm not screaming bloody murder that we're not getting to play our Warden's in DA:2 doesn't mean I don't love them. I'm simply open minded. I LOVE the DA series, I get every DLC the day it comes out, as did I with Origins and Awakening. I just know a new storyline with a new character, with a whole new cast with some suprise reappearances from some old favorites can make for an amazing game. As I stated before Hawke is merely a last name, every bit of customization that was in Origins will be in this game, with the exception of race.

Firstly, where does it say it'll only be 20-30 hours, and the DLC is realistically only going to be 1-3 Hours. All the other DLC's have never lasted longer than two  hours for me. =/ And I'm the type to look around all over.

$7 for 1 hour and 30 Minutes, meh.

$60 for 30 Hours, Sounds about right on with most major console releases, and you havn't exactly stated where you heard it's only 20-30 hours, so...It's more likely going to be 40-60 hours. =/

Is there going to be any way to import a character from GoA as well as Origins and Awakening? It would be cool to play the story all the way through with the "same" character.

There have indeed been quotes that Bioware is aiming to make Dragon Age 2 "Mass Effect 2 size" or "About 20-30 hours for the main quest... longer if you do side quests."

Granted this was pretty well to be expected. How could they have put together another 60-100 hour game (Origins) in under 2 years?

Oh yeah! me too B), actually I was for games and rpgs and I was close to buy conan MMO, but I found out about dragon age and I stoped caring about conan and I have kept playing dragon age many many times, I think that it would also be excellent to find it in MMO and Thedas completely opened, and the players could now chose the nation, fereldan, antivan, orlesian, orzamarian lol, par volarian  yeah I'd be on it too.

Good choice , you didnt miss anything in Age of Conan .... trust me <_<.

Hey guys, do you think that if I would create a new character in Witch Hunt instead of importing an old one from Origins there would still be a chance of getting some child with essence of an old god-related story? I want to see what would happen to that child so much but I've made ultimate sacrifice in DAO. (Sorry for my poor English;) )

Cant hurt to try right :D

Just something else I refuse to buy. I'm tired of the bug fest and garbage patches. I want the content I paid for the 1st time around. I shouldn't have to wait for the community to fix it or do it myself.

Awakening was the final straw for me. It was so bad quality and content wise that I'm simply not buying any further "Bioware" err, I mean EA products. I can put up with a few bugs, not 30% of the content simply unplayable.

I would like to buy Witch Hunt, but I'm not.

Okay .... so if Awakening was the last straw then why are you posting :??   Not trying to be a ****** here just curious, we have had bunches of DLC since then, seems kinda odd that you decide to come out of the blue just to let use know you want buy it? Just an observation :bandit:

I am posting because I am voicing my opinion.  I can do that can't I?  Or is this forum only for groupies?

I did buy a couple of the DLCs, but Awakening was a piece of trash.  EA is not getting any more of my cash.  I expect to be able to play what a pay for.  Not have at least 30% of the content simply broken and unplayable.  I enjoyed DAO but it was bug ridden.  The patches were bug ridden.  Awakening was not the greatest content wise, but also bordering on unplayable due to the severe bugs.  Some of the other DLC also had a bunch of bugs.  All I asking for is what I paid for which is playable content.  No more.  No less.

I can tolerate a few bugs.  However, I'm not going to buy from a company - EA - that simply can't or won't put out a reasonably bug free product.

EA needs to hear that people are tired of bug ridden product.  Period.  If all they get are a bunch of slobbering groupies who say they can't wait for the next bug ridden cesspool, that's exactly what you will get.  I for one am fed up with being ripped off.  And I do feel like I was ripped off due to all the bugs.  When you can't play content you paid for, you've been ripped off.  When the producer won't fix their clearly broken product, you've been ripped off.

Again, I can tolerate a few bugs.  I won't tolerate a clearly broken product.  I won't support a company that takes my money and won't fix their broken product.

I hope Witch Hunt is bug free and folks enjoy it.  However, I refuse to give EA any more of my hard earned cash.  They have lost a customer.  Period.    Maybe they will read this, maybe they won't, but if folks don't say anything, they then will assume quality doesn't matter.

Fair enough :)

I cant wait to see what happens, but Im with Nemesis77 on this one, I wont go out quietly or easily lol :bandit:. Ummmm, with all this content I have a question, maybe somebody knows .

On the PS3 you have but so many save characters. Well, my main has been threw Origins, Awakenings, Golems and now it seems like Witch Hunt ..... So, there is four save files right there. I dont want to delete them before DA2 comes out, I dont want to loose my stories ..... but .... Okay, does the DLC keep our stories and stuff the way we left it in origins so we can delete the other ones and just save the current? Or, if I delete the old ones am I screwed when DA2 comes out ????? Really could use an INSIDERS view on this. Its not a spoiler just a question if I can delete the old files or if the current DLC has saved my story to this point, hence uploading it in DA2 and not loosing anything?

I know you dont upload the Warden, we all know its Hawke in DA2 B), but our stories and how we shaped the world is suppose to be what carries over, and thats what Im worried about loosing.

Any thoughts ?

Yes me and another i forget who were talking about this a bit ago its stupid specialy as the saves are security protected so we cant back them to a dongle or something.

Sooooo, just SOL hu :?? Oh, well. Could always be worse :P.

Ahh...Thats actually amazing. The main quest in DA:O is only about 20 hours really, it's all the side quests that tack on the extra hours. So if the main quest is 20-30 hours excluding side quests. And I still havn't seen any of these quotes, and as I've stated I've read many interviews and seen the huge spread in Game Informer when it was on the front page. Care to put a link? =)

... Uh. If you rush it I suppose? Most people I've talked to spend 40-60 hours (depending on how many "flavor" NPCs they talk to about history and such) with DA:O if they mostly ignore sidequests, and 60-100 if they try to do all the sidequests they can (again, depending on how chatty they are).

As for the quote, it's from this article.

GDN wrote...
DLC from Origins had some hints to the future and it will all tie
together. Depending on how you finished the first game, there will be
some things in this one based on your decisions. They say 20-30 hours or
more if you do some side content and stated it’s "Mass Effect 2
length." From an action gamer standpoint we were told the game should be
easier to get into but there are still stalwarts of RPGs, like
abilitiies, attributes and crafting of items for those diehard RPG fans."

So, even if we're not arguing over how long it takes specific people to finish DA:O, almost everyone would agree that "Mass Effect 2 length" is shorter than "Origins length".

I do wanna know what happens, don't get me wrong... I just hope this interesting storyline won't be rushed... I Just know reaction will be negative after that one...

And if we do get more dlc, will those be seperate campaigns.... doesn't that kinda suck :/

Also I really want to see a sequence of my warden doing the calling or something to actually end his storyline....

As Chris has stated, Dragon Age 2 happened. It changed their plans, because they liked how it was proceeding so much.

well then it did proceed fast, it's really only a couple of weeks ago that that was aaid,

I must admit, am kinda dissapointed. after playing Golems of Amgarrak, i couldn't wait more of those kind DLCs... now theres only one left, I do wanna see some kind of ending to my warden, maybe being cured by morrigan of the darkspawn taint so I can live with Leliana or proceed to the deeproads to do my calling....(not have to play it, just a sequence like the calling trailer).....

I want to be killed! There should be an option for it. I didn't die in Origins due to.....circumstances....but if my Warden is not going to appear in a major way again I don't want to imagine his adventures offscreen. He will die, hopefully.

Don´t know if this has been asked already but there is no dev answer, so I´ll asume it wasn´t. What happens with the bug that changed Morrigan status from "Love" to "Friendly"? In Awakening it meant it didn´t show the Warden following her to Orlais (wonder if there was a planned expansion taking place there, a few things would make more sense), but here it can mean changing the reunion with Morrigan regerdless of DR or not.

Okay, folks, I need some advice.  (Heavy spoilers for DA:O follow.)

TL;DR version: which Origins ending do you think will provide the most dramatic/interesting background for one's first (read: unspoiled) playthrough of Witch Hunt?

I have already bought my Bioware points for Witch Hunt (and Lair of the Shadowbroker, for that matter); now all I need to do is to decide which of my Warden endings I want to play through Witch Hunt the first time.

The first time through a story is always unique - it hits you with an impact unlike subsequent playthroughs.  Personally, on my first playthrough, Alistair dumped my Warden after the Landsmeet (*mutters* stupid non-intuitive post-Goldanna hardening dialogue), which was a real kick in the teeth - but nothing compared to the ending, where the love clearly wasn't quite over, and he sacrificed himself even though my Warden was trying with every fibre of her being to go for Ultimate Sacrifice.  The emotion was incredible.  Of course, the emotion was primarily rage (compounded with an astonishing level of grief), but even so!  I replayed the final parts of the game numerous times to get all four endings, and I'm much happier with some of the other endings I got, but none of them had the same emotional impact, because I knew what was going to happen and was kinda metagaming some of my decisions.

So.  Witch Hunt.  Which would be more powerful?  For a Warden who turned down Morrigan's offer and lost her lover as a result to confront the witch?  Or perhaps a Warden who wonders far too often about the child Morrigan conceived with Alistair - a child the Warden herself can never give him?  Or perhaps a Warden who turned down Morrigan's offer but who was able to get Loghain to sacrifice himself while keeping Alistair alive and ruling Ferelden (with Anora)?  And then there's the drunken Alistair ending, but I try not to think about that one too much...

Ultimately, I suppose it really comes down to Dark Promise vs. any other ending, though the variable of current romance (or not) with Alistair also interests me.  What do other people intend to play first, and what are their reasons?

Incidentally, if there was a way to import the decisions made by a Warden who made the Ultimate Sacrifice while playing a new character, that would make my decision for me.  The Ultimate Sacrifice was the ending I was going for, and in many ways it's the truest ending for my Warden.  But missing out on continued relationships with Origins characters and further impacts of past decisions is not my cup of tea, gameplay-wise.
