Agreed. Minus one year of DLC is horrifying enough, but literally telling our Warden to "go **** himself" by replacing his spotlight with that of Hawke's, who I assure everyone will have his chance to become a legend, is a horrible no-show approach at this climatic ending.

I like my Warden characters but don't see DA2 as telling our Warden to go @#$% himself/herself especially not literally. The fact that Hawke becomes a legend doesn't mean that our Warden's aren't.

I would obviously rather this was a proper expansion, although maybe there's not enough in the story for that. I guess we'll find out.

Morrigan better not show up for like 5minutes at the end...I swear I will rage...I dont want Hawke...Just give me Morrigan perfection!

Morrigan is awesome, but they better say something about Hawke or atleast something to reference DA:2 or this will be a very wasted chance in Biowares part. This is their chance to hype up DA:2 big time.

They have the Strider, who will make an appearance in DA 2
We want this DLC for Origins not Hawke, who they've been trying to shove down our throats. Heck, due to Hawke, the year of DLC we were told about will not happen. Although whether that's a good thing or not.....

They need more then that, this is their time to add some plot-twists into DA:2. They've already stated they want to add Morrigan's story into DA:2, so...I'm assuming this isn't going to end well at all. =P Or else why would her story have any need to continue, which is exactly what they need to do, Last DLC=Time to Hype up their full console release, and I love the DLC's and everything, but yeah....1 hour and 30 minutes worth of content every month/two months pales in comparison to a full length feature game. So I'm completely fine with DLC stopping early if that means more work on DA:2.

I'm hoping maybe they release a trailer like they have for all the other DLC tomorrow (Tuesday), seeing as that would be one week prior to release.

Oh and if they mess up or have this DLC anything less than stellar, I'll have one person to blame and one thing to say.....

Minus one year of DLC's but getting a full length game...Yeah, the latter is much better. And the Warden has HAD the spotlight for an entire game, expansion and multiple DLC's. How much spotlight does someone really need? This is something that shouldn't JUST be about the Warden or JUST about Hawke, they should make this good enough to where after the end of this DLC, it'll have you(the person in general finishing the DLC) completely intereasted within DA:2, thats smart marketing, aswell as smart storytelling. Anyone who'd disagree isn't looking at the bigger picture and really is a little 'too' attached to their warden. I love my Warden too, but hell, I'ma love to see some epic storyline unfold right into DA:2.

A DLC is hardly suited to an epic cross over tale, so within a limited 2 hour tale there is just not the time to tell the kind of story you would like to see. Arguably as well, those who suggest that people are "too attached" to their Warden and want DA 2 stuff right now are a]impatient and b]seem a little too much like blind Hawke shippers.

Sure, a full game is better than a DLC but whether it comes on March 11th next year or had it been a year later than that, the full game will finally arrive, no doubt about that. So dismissing Origins DLC's on the basis of that argument is redundant, other than making the complanee seem like a restless teenager.

( and one of the primary agruments against Hawke/DA 2 as now presented is that it does seem to have been rushed and therefore truncated to cater to exactly those impatient people. Thus by Origins standards, DA 2 will be much shorter. )

Funnt that, because the flip side to that argument is that given how quickly DA 2 is being pushed onto the market after Origins, ( just over 1 year ) there is a perfectly valid point that rather than more work on DA 2 taking place as a result of curtailing Origins DLC's early, there has in fact, been less work done.

And guess what..yes, the game will be much shorter.

Yeah, I feel like they're being too hasty with bringing out DA2. I just get the impression they've got all these story ideas planned out and are sort of rushing them out as soon as possible, albeit at the detriment of sort of letting the franchise breath a bit.

I'd just hate to have DA develop franchise fatigue  so soon after having Origins released because instead of fewer lengthy high quality releases, we end up with more short, crummy DLC and that leaks over into the main games.

I'm hoping WItch Hunt turns out ok though, even if I have my concerns...

...It's DLC. Not even an expansion. Some people never buy DLC. Who would set up twists with some seven buck DLC? I'd prefer MORE good content, instead of LESS crappy content.

More Time to Develop DLCs, means more story for Origins, and more time to develop DA:2 to be better, thanks to DLC. But...

The way we're going is, is less time to develop DA:2, because with DLC they can push back the release and fix bugs, and HOPEFULLY beta test. And with no more DLC, there's no more content for Origins until March. That's about seven or so months away.

So here's how I see it.

Minus DLC for a year but a get a half length, buggy game or

Plus DLC for a year AND get a full length fixed sequel.

SO true.

IMO - the DA franchise has completely gone into the crapper; what a crying shame :pinched:

Movies do tell good stories in 2 hours. Leliana´s Song did it, even with the retcons done to recycle scenery. Not very thrilled here though. I´d like the choice to go help her if DR was done. She will need everything she can get when Flemeth goes for her... What if that´s what the elven artifact is for? Ties with her story better than a forced set up for DA2.

About Hawke,he will probably be more (in)famous than the Warden as his acts affect much of the world. The Warden outside of Ferelden is The Greatest Hero the World Will Never Know. He was so great that most people didn´t even learn the danger there was. After doing that becoming Champion of Kirkwall and dealing with Qunari is not that epic.

Revan was the popular one, Exile just went into local conflicts and dealt with a trio of Villain Sues.  But thanks to TOR they probably died away instead of wiping (yet another order of) Sith together. How awesome would that have been? The closest must be Luke&Vader vs Emperor in Lego SW.

I´d really like last battle in DA were all previous PCs team up, but with that friendly to new players policy is not going to happen.:(

Downloading this dlc means I have to patch my game. I haven't touched DA:O since that PS3 patch mess. Is it safe to update now?

I agree wholeheartedly.
Before the announcement majority of community was practically sure that Morrigan's story will require a full expansion, not a DLC. I seem to remember D.Gaider hinting that DLC is not enough to tell Morrigan's tale (but maybe I'm imaginning things). :?

Yes, I suppose. Saves are still locked and character slots are limited.

Update on the Witch Hunt page, apparently the mage companion is named Finn:

Posted Image

Finn is a young mage from the Circle of Magi in Ferelden. He considers  himself the Circle's best linguist and foremost expert on ancient   Tevinter history–even if others might consider him more of a bookworm, a recluse that spends all of his time in the tower's dark library. Finn   is the unlikeliest of adventurers... but it may come to pass that his   academic expertise will force him to out of the library and into an   adventure where his arcane might is the only thing that stands between  him and certain death.

We need to be able to import a character from Golems as well as Origins and Awakening, and having only new party members for the conclusion to the Origins story is kinda, lame...
